My 4th straight win this season was another hard fought duel with Maccer's AE86. He might've had the advantage of course knowledge but this was evened out by his relative inexperience using a steering wheel. Despite this handicap, we showed no mercy through 6 rounds of intense racing. Maccer led Round 1 and I could tell he wasn't looking as comfortable as he is with a DS3 and I got past when he slid wide before he passed me again on the home straight to take it to Round 2. Round 3 saw me gain damage but my fighting spirit spurred me on to push through despite a slightly upset balance. Round 6 saw Maccer really struggling against his car which was likely down to tyre wear and ended up spinning. He refused to throw in the towel but I was already across the line.

confirmed 5/5 was a great race and one of my most fun races i've had due to using a wheel :D, realy changes the game experiance. I wont be using my wheel for the rest of the season I think, at least not untill I can afford to buy a proper wheel stand or build one. your right on the tyre wear too,

I think at the end of this season im gona post up my ae86 tune and ask for some help on it, as it has some very unusual handling traits I just can't seem to fix.

I wanted to say dont erase me guys from your friend list because I'm away, but will be back in action on March... I can't wait! I miss driving with you guys :( although I am having good times where I am now too:crazy: lol. Cheers, have fun my friends.

Hey, mate!! I miss racing you too, hope you can get back on the GT5 touge scene soon!! I'm kind of busy too, divided between work and family, and cant race as much as before, but I still race sometimes!! Happy to ear (read) about you, my friend!! :sly:👍

i hope you post the tune cause my 86 is twitchy as well, does your's have a managable under that gets worse for no reason and sudden over other times.

Glad im not the only one who strugles setting up this car, It almost feels and looks to have a constant wobble that wont allow the car to be stable, in high speed corners its fairly stable, but mid and low speed corners are my main problem with it. For example, turn in (with slight understeer the front tyres just wont grip at initial turn in for me) steddy throtle and steering but out of nowhere its either the back end breaking loose or the front gaining grip pulling it into the apex too much making the car want to spin. Im not very good at explaining it think.

I've tryed so many different setups from one extreem of very soft to very stiff and all the way inbewteen. I just dont understand why this car wont grip and stay ballance like an mx5 they are about the same power and weight except the mx5 has a natural 50/50 ballance, I have an excelently set up mx5 from badboy that you can just turn in plant the throtle and it grips and go's, no fuss no drama. Evan if I fully weigh reduct the AE86 then ballast it up to be 50/50 ballance it still feels unstable (I havn't done this on my LotS registered AE86 cause it will invalidate the car due to breaking the rules)

I think it was you who stated cars like the M3 CSL have an sports soft level of grip while on sports hard sorry if im wrong, which I partly agree with but I don't think its that extreem. Well this car deffinitily feels to has a reduced level of grip to feel almost like comfort softs while on sports hard.

Nobody can remain undefeated forever and I am no exception. With superior performance and course knowledge, Frag's panda AW11 was always going to be hard to beat. We initially started with a 2 second CMSD but Frag got disconnected as we were going into Round 9. We agreed to redo with a grip gambler and Frag's AW11 was able to shine through. Despite my efforts catching up in the corners, Frag showed superb blocking skills and was able to make use of his power advantage on the short straights. I regret nothing from not being able to claim a 5th straight win as glory hunting is not what keeps me going. Great race

yeah i was the one who said that, but i think its a toyota bias by pd, my supra my 86 my mr2 all are twitchy while other brands are fine. it also has to do with coding, the tire width on the 86 is horrible and even uping tire grade and changing the wheels doesn't remedy it.

I never had problems with the supra, but the 86 is horrid at times, raising the ride height a bit tends to help it's low speed turn in though.

Mate, was intense!! I think CMSD would be settled by tire management. None of us could pull away or pass, we were even. My advantage were in straights and King's in corners, being always composed!!
GG, well, I had the advantage in start, and tried to keep 1st place until finish. Drifted a little, trying to block King pass lines, making him slow down a bit, and block his sight with smoke, eheheh :sly: My strategy almost caught me in last corner, when I exit it too wide and too sideways... It was great fun to race StreetKing, as always!! Great driver and great handling Roadster!! 👍

Hi everyone, ive been lurking around the lots page for quite some time and ive finally gotten around to signing up to gtplanet and figured id say hi! Bout to register for class charlie with my 86 so i look forward to racing with some of you :)! Was also wondering if anyone likes to race night time courses and not just in the day...

For all of y'all having trouble with the AE86... what are your LSD settings? because that would affect your under/over steering problems much more than the suspension.

A quick one lap battle I lead and ose's veyron shot past me after the first corner, but I was able to stay on his bumper through all the technical sections and was actualy corning faster but couldnt get past that wide beast, eventualy as the corse changes to more high speed straights I get left behind by over 3 seconds.

Could be a different result on a more technical track, but evan so the veyrons speed is imposible to match and if its infront its difficult to get past.

Awsome 7 round battle with our 2 beautifull ( eheh ) Panda Toyotas!! Always bumper to bumper action. I know racing in my home course is my only way to beat Maccer. But he it was tough tho. First 5 rounds we were even, same cornering speed, same straight speed, same braking points, always just 2 or 3 meters gap between two cars at insane speed!! By 5th round I started to note some tail movment from the 86, and I tried to find a way to pass, but was impossible. Maccer protects his lines so well, and even induce his rival to take a wrong one!! Mind game!! So, I tried to pull a gap when leading, taking advantage of my home course last sector (low speed and very thecnical) and track knowledge. Pulled a gap of 2,4 sec. Always tough to race maccer, but at same time so rewarding, no matter win or loose!! Great guy and driver!! ;)

The battle was close, Snake chose to lead. I was on his bumper the entire round 1. I managed to get a 2.4 second lead the second lap, but it wasn't enough. The 3rd round, in the last half, he went wide and I overtook on the inside, then maintained it to win by around 2 seconds.

I chose to lead, and miraculously held off Shadow for quite a while, but he overtook me in the last 2 sections. and pulled away in the final section. The gap is blurry as it has been a long day.

I chose to lead, and I tried really hard to block the AW11 for as long as possible, in the second to last sector I misjudged my breaking causing me to go wide, were I was overtaken. I been having problems with rwd's all season lol.

Confirmed, I saw JC having problems with understeer and I realized I would be able to pass him, just had to wait for the right moment to avoid any contact. JC went wide exiting a corner and I pointed my AW11 nose to the inside and got the lead. This track is hard on understeer setups, but is rewarding when you get it right.

I was racing maccer unnoficially earlier in this track and it was a great match, those exhaust notes reminded me a vid I saw on youtube from the 90´s:

Alright fellas, Ive been looking to join now for a while, but real life has been crazy this past few months. I have now got a scheduled roughed out. So Sundays and some week nights I'll be able to battle. I see they next thing on the schedule is PP testing. I guess I'll list a car for the groups available. Any info I should know before that?

Actually, I know you guys are a couple weeks in, but do you mind if I hop in on the end of this challenge? Or possibly just tune a car for the Charley series and run with some of you guys? I have a car that Im fine tuning now.

Happy valentines day to all the lonely drivers in LotS
