True, but if we use the offical tuning specs for each car then it wont be a fair competition, the idea of the 480pp limit is that if you end up with the cappuccino, AE86 or an MX5 you will have a chance to compete with the higher performance cars, and like I said before, if we had solely downhill courses not just "sections" we could allow people to run more HP in the more heavily tuned cars as the light weight low power cars would have a chance to use their handling agility to keep up. With the way Toscana / Eifle tracks are there is too many flat and uphill sections for a low power car to use it's cornering advantage.

My main idea of this challenge was to mix up the usual way we run things, with the car choice being random, top level drivers can't just pick he best car and wipe away the rest of the rivals. Of course there is a chance top level drivers may get one of the higher perfomance cars available but thats just something that can't be avoided.

I have a course that was created by Wynter and it has the craziest downhill, although it would only be a couple of sections long. I think it will be good, well atleast for a try...

what if we assign the lower pp cars to the top runners as a handicap? your 420pp ae86 was almost dead even with my 490pp evo3 and 440pp 22b. so it could work if we calculate fastest into slowest car and slowest into fastest car by previous lots seasons.

I think I know which course you're on about, Asunga yama? or something close to that name, and it does have a nice downhill section/uphill section if you go in reverse, could be something to consider but the races will be very short in length and the gap would have to be decided by eye which may be a problem in the sence of always needing at least a thrid person there to verify the gap.

I understand using the actual Initial D car specs for the ultimate recreation would be a fun idea in theory, and if we had an all downhill 3mile plus track i'd be all for pushing the idea of running the actual specs, but I just feel it will result in boring one sided battles with the way all toscana and eifle tracks are. I think we can all agree the best battles are the ones that are close and last for at least 3 rounds win or lose, compared to a battle where the winner is decided after we get to the first straight.

He did? Fair enough, I havn't read much of the manga so I cant argue with that, i'll try and find somewhere I can read translated version online to find out then i'll change it. Can anyone else confirm he uses a turbo converted SZ-R? and maybe link me to where I can read the translated manga?

Also any objections to swaping the silvia to the premium one to make it easier to get it in the right colour?

EDIT: After reading through Volume 38, Chapters 519 -537 which covers the Supra vs FD battle it doesn't speciifically state it to have a turbo neither does it show any interior image of the supra to show a boost gauge, but it doesn't state it is a N/A engine either :indiff: the most it did say about the car is that the driver is a profesional and uses it for GT racing at fuji speedway and they do hint at the fact his car more powerfull than Keisukes FD.

Been having a hard time finding infomation on specs for initial D cars specifically;
Max HP
Max Torque
Weight
Engine Aspiration

Anyone know of any websites that have this infomation? A friend of mine has a few of the initial D volume books which does contain this info for all of the 1st stage cars so I will have to ask to borrow that and write down all the cars specs, but finding the same info for the 4th and 5th stage cars is seeming impossible to find on the net.

I'll be creating a new track to share while LotS is on a break before the recreation challenge. It'll be named after a stretch of country road a couple of miles from where I live.
 
Ok so where is the new side season? Been trying to collect all the necessary cars.

Edited the car selection list for the initial D challenge, swaped the Supra SZ-R for the RZ model and swaped the '88 silvia for the 90's premium one.

If people want to try get this side season started so we can do some fun races you can PM me saying you want to register and I will PM you back your number which will asign you the car to use. The random number generator I will use is on this webiste http://www.random.org/

The only problem is there wont be a spreadsheet to show you who has registerd or a leaderboard. Or we can wait until timber is less busy so he can set up the registration like normal?

why not ask shadow? he updates the board, so he could run one.
 
I need to figure out how to make the boards and Timbers confusing points calculation (Whatever post its on):indiff:

we could run it on the tdc group page but you only get points for wins and most wins wins lol, just post results and i'll run a tally on a post like

etc
just count wins at end of season, since its a side chalenge its more for fun anyway.

or we could run a 440pp tdc season for the first time :dopey: hopefully.
