BHP and weight? Because a FD at 350 HP will destroy a R32 at 400 Lol

In theory, the R32 has the advantage of AWD and 50 more horses put down do the ground, not to mention the torque to go along with it, so I say that's a pretty fair game. It's the tune and the driver that makes a car fast, not the stats. Slender's R32 vs my FD would lean in his favor, simply because he is a better driver.

I believe the current PP system needs testing to determine if a change is necessary. Sure, a 500PP Supra can put down 600 horses, but it's an absolute pig to drive, and simply has too much power to put down on sport hard tyres.

Not really, the fd has more lateral grip and a newer chassis. Now FD vs R34 would be fair.

The FD is only 2 years younger than the R32. The R34 is also very off pace for its stats.

I think 250 horses is a little much for C class, because that eliminates cars like the EK from being driveable, unless it's become grippier since the update.

Edit: Odd. There must have been a physics change somewhere, because the EK is way easer to manage with 250HP than I remember.

Here's my two cents:

Personally, I like the new pp changes. It used to take drivetrain into account before but now more so. But more than that, it takes Ito account weight and chassis/suspension architecture more than ever.

My 500PP Z33 was downrated from 500 to 467. So now at 500 it's pushing about 440hp instead of 360 which should allow it to better keep up with the M3's and NSX's. My M3 was downrated from 500 to 495 as it sits at a hefty 1500kg which allowed me to remove the bit of ballast it had and reset engine limiter from 95% to 100%. Now it thrusts 440hp instead of 417 and weighs 20kg less.

Slender's Wangan SL and Supra went down from nearly 600 to sub-550 as well. My C63 did too. Most of the cars affected were the heavier ones and those with Multi-Link and Leaf-Spring rear suspensions such as BMW's, Corvettes, Aston Martins and Mercedes'.

That being said, the new PP changes should make for a more diverse competition for LotS as more cars will be buffed with higher power ratings giving them a much needed boost in performance to be able to keep up with the usual touge monsters.

I love that it buffed my M3 Coupe, as now it sits with the same stats as yours. It felt a tad bit underpowered before because it couldn't have any power upgrades once broken in.

My problem is that it buffed some of the wrong cars, so an HP limit or dual PP/HP limit may need to be implemented. I love the 86 GT/BRZ/FR-S, but I'm afraid it'll have to get banned unless there is an HP limit because it rocks 310HP, 1100kg @ 450PP. That's pretty overpowered if you ask me. I don't even think it'll reach 500PP anymore (Not that it really needed to, it didn't put the power down too well.) The diversity should be great since there are no long "catch the rabbit" cars around, but there are still a few that have had a huge buff. I think PD should have helped FF's out a bit too, because none of mine changed PP and most of them are slower than the FR's.

Signed up my Crimson Tide NSX for 500PP. She's in good working order after being unaffected by the PP changes and only needed some suspension recalibrations.

Well my S15 now has 376hp at 450PP. That car was pretty much useless on anything other that the drifting comps so it seems PD knows what they're doing.

As for the updated LotS classes, if you limit 500 and 450PP cars to 400/300hp the we'll be back where we started. Hell, maybe even a step back. Now the Nissan Fairladies and M3's are rendered in eligible. After a bit of testing I think 350/375 for 450PP and 450hp for 500PP is more reasonable.

I agree. I had planned on joining but my car is exempt. :-(

Just checked my other cars. I will be joining the kei car touge in my premium Cervo.

Hopefully I can find other cars in time for the 450 and 500pp groups. When is the sign in cut off?

I like this right here. This will keep everything nice and tidy. My M3 lost those extra horses it gained but also lost 130kg in the process. This will hurt my 86/BRZ/FR-S trio a little bit but I no longer have to change anything else up.

How the changes work are which ever your cars gets to first 500PP or 420Bhp really. I'm hoping it works :nervous:

It should. The only thing I noticed was a few FR's now have a little less weight than before, so everything should be just about equal and where it was before. My only suggestion would be to raise the HP of B Class to 320 or so, and then C class would be 420PP/220HP.

This wont work for me. 420hp isn't enough. My fully broken in M3 and Z33 (which is what I was intending to run) are about 490PP at 420hp. I can't really lower the M3's 1474kg weight because then it'll exceed 500PP and the Z33 is already at its lowest weight and. I believe when PD makes these kinds of changes, it's for a reason and for the better.

I stand by myself, it seems, when I say that 450hp for A class and at least 350hp for B class is the more seasonable thing to do for competition. At 300hp, B class will still have the same rabbits as before being the obvious choices for everyone.

To be honest, since the last side season was a failure, I suggest we make THIS the side season to test out the changes in PP for the sake of fair competition. If not, then we'll still be having the same cars as before being the end-all be-all choice. You've basically eliminated the buff that PD gave these unused cars and made their work obsolete.

EDIT:
I'm gonna be testing for a few hours before I go to work. Since the PSN is still down for maintenance, I can't host a lobby. But if it comes back online anytime before I leave then I'll do so and post the room number here.

No offence to anyone but if all we're going to to is argue about this i WILL close LotS for good unless someone else wants to take over.......

My M3 was 495PP @ 420HP/1480kg, and I was able to go up to 500PP @ 415HP/1350kg. A few horses in exchange for a lot less weight.

PSN isn't down for me, I'm joining rooms fine.

I'm not trying to argue with anyone (to whomever you directed that to); I only made a suggestion that makes sense to me. You decide, and the rest of us just have to stick to it. 👍

It's more aimed at people who think the changes are wrong.......
I'm just getting bored of GT5 at the moment which is why i'm in lack of mood to race etc

No.

Must be less than 3400mm long, 1480 mm wide, and 2000mm tall. On top of that, engine displacement must be less than 660cc's.

LotS is in good hands with Slender_Man (I know him as OSE), so respect his decisions. He has done a great job thus far.

LotS has always been about placing restrictions to enable fun and balance competition (based loosely on street racing). Due to the recent changes of the patch and the fact also that there's no such thing as 'perfect balance', let's continue to support the restrictions placed.

The classes and it's restrictions will eventually change if there's major faults in it. But that's not really a one man test. It needs at least a season with rivals to put in their feedback. LotS is never afraid of change to make things more fun while keeping a reasonable balance. And the LotS regulars are always fair game and will give these new changes a go.

Stick around with a good attitude and you'll find yourself enjoying the company here in LotS like I always have whenever I get on.
