:idea:well guys, why not do a Initial D side season. It would be cool at 475pp, comfort soft tires. Everyone would enter as an Initial D character, and the names would be drawn at random to run, it could be like battle stage GT edition. It sounds fun to me. it's up to blurr to let there be more than one of the same character, View attachment 155858 but if we do this I'm so being Ikatani.
We did an Initial D season on GT5....

I don't see any reason we can't do it on GT6 either, but honestly I don't think we should start it off with that right away.

If we did random drawings like before, some newer people may be stuck with a car they can't drive well, let alone tune. I say we wait a while for an Initial D side season for GT6 (dibs on God Arm).

I'd always prefered Comfort Soft for touge, as they're close to performance summer tires for street/daily use in performance and price.

This should also self apply toward suspension systems as well, in my many years of canyon running I have yet to find someone who has a fully adjustable suspension setup. Few has come close to having a fully adjustable suspension setup on their older model cars but those cost more than the car itself. I guess what I'm saying is anybody can drive a car with a suspension that conforms and augments their shortcomings and bad habits instead of teaching them how to drive their chassis type properly within it's handling characteristics, a beginner series using 1 of the 4 ( stock, soft, hard, or rally ) non adjustable suspension setups would be a great way to further inhibit "over specialization" and conform to the spirit of Touge.

- sorry I'm a bit biased on this as I've always found people to quickly switch suspensions the moment they couldn't drive something instead of learning it.

kinda unrelated subject : don't get to close to the curb, "hooking and latching on to the ditch" doesn't really work ...

Well I am actually in the process of saving up for a fully customizable suspension for my 1990 240sx se coupe. Although there are no canyons by me I do plan on going to cali to run a few friends of mine once its finished and dialed in. It all depends on how much one is willing to spend to have the perfect car. Not everyone who enjoys touge can afford fully customizable suspensions but they enjoy running in what every they got. Others take racing seriously. Like my 240 is built entirely for track but is also a daily driver.

Like i said it's more affordable for older model cars, a fully customizable suspension for my Porsche Boxster by Singer will cost almost as much as the car itself ( to put that into perspective the Car is around $36,000.00 and the full chassis works will be about close to 20k for a track ready trailer queen which I don't want ). The perfect car in motorsports be it on an Enthusiast or professional level will never come along, there is always something to do, something always breaks.

LoTS now has an official website thanks to badboy_93! The link is in the OP under the "show your touge cars" link.

Also, I'd like to officially announce the inclusion of the "Purist" Class for LoTS. There has been a lot of talk about the use of CS tires, and after experimenting with them myself, I find it to be quite enjoyable at the 460pp range. However, not just any car will be allowed into the Purist Class. In order for your car selection to be eligible for Purist, it must cost less than 50,000 Cr in its stock form. There are a few other features that also set this class apart from others.

Here's what the "Purist Class" is:

-Your car must cost less than 50k Cr. stock
-Max PP limit is 460pp
-All cars must use Comfort Soft tires
-All cars must use their stock transmission
-Lan Evo's with AYC MUST USE AYC
-Nos, Torque Split, Fully Customizable Suspension, and Racing Brakes are PROHIBITED
-Twin Plate Clutch is the only Clutch Upgrade allowed
-Customizable LSD and Brake balance tuning is allowed
-NO TUNER/RACE CARS
-Max Weight reduction is Stage 2, but you're allowed 100kg for ballast
-Power limiter use is 95 - 100%

I know some of you are going to be upset regarding the suspension rule, but trust me when I say it's better this way. This class is designed around being competitive for beginners and veterans alike, with an emphasis on learning your car and developing driver skill and less so on tuning out the imperfections of your vehicle. It makes for really close and exciting racing, and I'm hoping you will all give it a try soon.

I'll give it a go as soon as I wrap up this business trip, not overly enthusiastic about the suspension rules, I still think it's a crutch, but let's give it a try. oh and 50k creds is a bit high for entry level vehicles that has only 460pp. - see yah in the tall grass

Hmmm I say don't be negative about it . Cuz I'm a first timer myself so this class will be interesting to try. Cuz I'm going to try it in a sil80

yeh, on hindsight I'm new to this series and this group. My intention wasn't to shoot down anything being put out. I'm just getting tired of other drivers just throwing on full adjustable suspension because they simply can not drive the car as is. I apologize for coming out negative on this, but I give a **** about where this is all heading, the moment someone stops arguing about their point is the moment they stop caring about the series, it's fairly small community, it's future, and the many potential newcomers.

oh and great job on the new site, if you need help msg me ( phpbb, xhtml, javascript, graphics works, officiating etc. )

It's not quite what I had envisioned when optomus and I created the Purist class, certainly much more barebones. And I gotta say I like what I see. It should definitely even the playing field in the class.

As for the Cr. limit, I don't know how I feel about it. Similar to the 80k-Build season, but at least the 50k doesn't include upgrades this time around.

@kiosk I understand you don't mean any ill will, but understand that in any community you're a part of the voice of reason and seniority resonates deeper than just qualms, concerns or complaints.

sign me up for the purist class!

I do like custom susp. Just because I love to kick a hole in the floor right after the apex.
I tend to get more and more frustrated when I'm looking for the edges of the car and end up spinning out time and time again (the BMW VGT seasonal has become my most recent hell...)

I just gave up on that. I'm running an Integra for the purist class, pretty easy to drive.

I think same goes for Nismo being Nissan's performance tuning branch, and TRD being Toyota's.
the Grey line is TOM's, which is also owned by Toyota but is very much specialized.

Finally I stepped up and had cable internet installed, my old DSL was not cutting it. I'm excited to see how the purist class turns out and will be trying out some cars today. I need to add some of the new faces to my friends list so be on the lookout for requests.

Looking forward to running you

I am currently producing a site to help others tune better in Legends of the Streets. I will post it sooner or later, just give it some time.

time is running out for you guys to get your vote in on our first side season... visit legendofthestreets.weebly.com to make your vote count. plus there is alot of other info in there that is just to hard to have listed in the gtp forums. makes sure to check it out. oh yea and if you have time make sure to add a driver profile and make sure to have your team added to the list. if your not on a team that's ok too. drivers profiles are to list every driver in competition. so you can "scout" your opponent before battle. best of luck to all those involved in l.o.t.s. have fun tuning

Just had a look through thee archives of LotS and came across an issue were Season 10's Score board was blank...
I am currently going through the old LotS thread and retyping up Season 10's spreedsheet.

I will update you once it is complete so the All Time top scorers on the website can be updated 👍
