At the present time, the EXA Canopy (aka Nissan Pulsar) is about 1 second faster than anything else I have tested. Without much effort it ran a 1:27 flat at GVE-R online. The closest I came to that time after testing several cars was a 1:27.8...and that was trying very hard to nail every corner. The EXA just has outstanding grip and very good acceleration.

I have only tested about 10 cars thus far though, but I'm close to exhausting my collection and will have to start flipping the UCD soon.

If people start zoning in on a small number of cars, I was toying with the idea of suggesting different starting PP. Either a blanket option like cars older than 19XX can run 350 pp while cars newer than 19XX must stick with 345. Another approach could be to nominate a car you want to run for pp adjustment. Several drivers can drive it and decide what a competitive pp will be to run against other cars.

I also want to do some back to back testing with drafting set to normal and low to see what is best for this series, keeping in mind that drivers will be handicapped at times and drafting is sometimes the only way to keep up.

What about going up to 350 for 1980+ and 355 for 1979 and before? It seems that people (myself included) have found a lot of cars at just under 350PP.

I'm ready for another season, so sign me up 👍

I noticed on the questionnaire that Spa is not on there. According to this thread, as long as the room owner has bought the track, everyone else in the room can use it. I assume at least one of us will be buying the track DLC, in which case we could run Spa if people voted it in.

Didn't know that...that'd be pretty fun! I think I'll be buying it anyways..

Yes, Spa isn't on the list. And, I've only asked for five tracks, even though we have seven races. The reason is: Spa will be included in the season, and it may even be the weather change track, I don't know, yet. To round out the seven tracks will be a generated track. I think we may just go with Huyler's, but I was debating having people submit tracks and have everyone vote on their favorite.

I fell an accident short of making the last race interesting. I hope to give you and Chuyler a better run this coming season!

Folks wont have time to test 10 different tracks and even if they have the time and say they will....they wont. Best thing would be pick a track. The earlier we know it the better the racing will be.

Only problem I have with including Spa is that you are essentially forcing everyone to purchase it. Sure, they won't need it to participate...but without they won't get any practice in on their own. I think we should hold off on Spa until next season....unless there is a unanimous agreement to include it.

I hadn't thought about that.

So, anyone not purchasing Spa? If so, then it'll be six others and probably Huyler's custom track.

I'm sure you can find online rooms running Spa once it's out... I'll offer some time to practice, too. I don't know..i've never run it, but it doesn't bother me at all.

Spa sounds a little too dangerous for lemons, that first turn with these car's would be a nightmare

What tires and PP were you running to get that 1:27? I have a few cars running high 1:25's at 350pp and SS tires. The MR2 is running about a second faster than that, but I don't think one can be found that will stay under 350 after refresh.

I've been flipping the UCD looking for others to try. I'm assuming I shouldn't even look at cars that don't have a turbo/supercharger option? Any other tips for a Lemons noob? :)

1:27 was at 345pp on comfort medium tires...i have only been testing post-engine-refresh cars. None of my MR2s make the cut.

The transmission upgrade will still be half off this season, so don't shy too far away from cars with poor gearing.

While I wanted something FR, we are staying at an hour, so the FFs aren't at a terrible disadvantage.

The only cars that I've seen do very poorly were very heavy (the 240 GLT and the large Alfa sedan).

I've only gotten 10 response so far, but wow, it really looks like everyone is clamoring around 350 PP. I say we test that on Tuesday for sure. In fact, unless the new responses say any different, I don't really know that there is much of a desire for anything else. I know that 350 excludes the Talon, but it might just allow an '86 MR-2, if I remember correctly.

Definitely interested in this series, especially with the new cockpit view on the standard cars. Sign me up, TrackBound7. Will have to start looking through some cars to see what I will run.

Being completely new to this series and not knowing much about what cars fit into what starting PP...here is my take. With the title of Lemons, I picture cars being pretty slow and not very exciting in the beginning. So that leans me towards a lower starting PP. On the other hand, it is nice to have variety in the cars on the track. So that leans me towards a higher PP. Without looking through any of my cars or the dealerships, I would guess somewhere in the 350-365 range would be pretty decent for starting. Thanks again for having me, this should be a ton of fun.

Did a two lap test with a car that was legal for 345. On CM I ran 1.29, but I don't see any issue at all running 1.27's with it.

I kind of like 345. 350 has some overlap with previous seasons. The idea isnt to like the selection of cars, it is to find some oddball car that will eventually perform well.

Exactly....thats why I choose 340 to make sure we had new faces on the track.

Best of luck Trackbound7. Hope you enjoy our little series here. PLEASE PLEASE show up to all races if you sign up. Jumping ship makes the rest of us very sad and I personally have to see my therapist over it.

By the way garris, i am still not a fan of changing rewards/points for drivers who finish below 10th. As i mentioned before, it isnt fair to those who do poorly at the beginning of the season and get those low points if drivers at the end of the season can get higher points for just showing up. As much as we discourage it, it is almost guaranteed we will lose 3-5 racers by the end.

I plan on being there for the entire season. I know up until Thanksgiving (baring any emergency of course), I will be there for every Tuesday. Our winter sports schedule begins right around December 1st at the high school I work at. Part of my responsibilities is to cover some of those sporting events. With the start time of the race I am pretty sure I will still make them all, but there might be a conflict one week. When will a starting PP be verified for sure? After 10/18?

yeah, we need to take some time to iron this stuff out...there've been significant discussions on the subject of late.

mmk / Joe2011 / Kush -- why the new PSN?

I'm only changing points. Cash will remain the same at 10+. Points can be retroactively adjusted as people drop, if need be, cash can't. Cash will be allocated based on standings, however, not on individual race finishes (the Diabolic idea).

Yes, after Tuesday, we'll cement the starting PP. Car selection will be due by the 25th. The preseason race, on the 25th, will not count against anyone that can't make it (I don't want to say it is optional because I want people to show up). If you miss two regular season races, you will be dropped.

Track selection will be made public on the 25th. After everyone has picked their cars. I haven't even made the track list, yet. I'm waiting until I settle on a car to use.

As to the 345/350... I've only found one car at 350 that is above 345. And I'm not thrilled by it. At 350, it does the same 1:30s that almost every other car I tested did.

Huyler and Dabney have both posted 1:27s in the Pulsar Camper. I can't go that fast, but it is a second faster than most of what I've tested. Surprisingly, I am a second faster than that in the 2000 New Bettle.

So, are there really cars above 345 but below 350 that people want to use? If not, can we just settle down to 345 and save that extra exhaust manifold, or whatever, to purchase during the season?

will everyone be driving FF this season?

I've only found one FR that I'm liking, and it is no faster than the rest of the cars I've tested. My two top choices are both FFs. :(

In my mind, when I think "racecar", FFs aren't included, so I've been avoiding them. But I guess I need to try out a few. I have 1 car sitting at 345 with 0 miles. That would count as a 350, correct? I'm fine with whatever, though. I have other decent cars under 345.

I need a Karhmann Ghia if anyone has one, I modded my last one to do lightweight classics in the 450 room, and I wanted another one. It needs to be stock though. I'm also very upset that the car I wanted to race is one year over. Next season it's going to rape.
