Wow, I'm only squeezing 153 max speed out of the miata, I think it is going to be a long race by myself on Wednesday!

I think the points and credit rewards worked out pretty well this season. Hopefully there won't be as many real life intrusions for me next one.

I think the leaders will be hitting 160 ish. I don't think I can break 150 without some help but my transmission will take me to 180.

My car is hitting the limiter, so at least I know WiiFreaks will as well. However I have a lot more power which should with stock transmisson, take me further up the standings for the race. I wont catch the 170+ MPH on the straights, but hopefully the darkness will bring accidents to them. :)

My PS3s video output seems to have bit the dust. I'll see if I can fix it or get a new one by next race...

:'(

Edit : It's working, but only when it feels like it.

I'll be missing the last race of the season. Another one I was almost certain to win :(. Work calls, I gotta answer :(.

Controller Stats:
DS3 Controller (buttons for gas/brake) 23.5% 4
DS3 Controller (paddles or joysticks for gas/brake) 23.5% 4
DFGT/DFP or other basic racing wheel and pedals 29.4% 5
G25/G27 or other premium racing wheel and pedals 23.5% 4

Availability
Sunday 17.6% 3
Monday 52.9% 9
Tuesday 82.4% 14
Wednesday 58.8% 10
Thursday 35.3% 6
Friday 17.6% 3
Saturday 17.6% 3
It looks like we can run a Tuesday and Wednesday series again, and possibly a Monday series. However, I'm not sure how much "Lemons" drivers want to take. I think this season I'm cutting back to one night.

Race Teams
Yes 23.5% 4
No 52.9% 9
Don't care 23.5% 4
Although a good idea, we will not do race teams. With driver's availability, it would handicap any team that has a member that cannot make every race.

Tire Compounds
Keep it the same, one race for each tire compound 47.1% 9
Run 2 races on each tire compound to skip the racing tires 29.4% 6
Other (please specify)
Show Responses 23.5% 2
Although I'm not really a fan of racing tires, the masses have spoken and we'll stick with the current system of upgrading the tire for each race.

Credit Changes
Credits are fine and do a good job of keeping cars competitive 92.3% 12
Less money for top 5 cars 7.7% 1
Less money for lower placing cars 0.0% 0
Other (please specify) 3
Based on the "other" responses and my own personal preferences, I will make some minor tweaks to credits. First off, DNS drivers will get less credits. Missing a race shouldn't give you any advantage the remainder of the season and I think we were too generous. I also think we were too generous handing out 30k to the lower ranks...however I'm not sure if the credits need to change to fix this or the point system.

Points Changes
Keep it the same 20,16,13,11,10,9,8,7,6,5 68.8% 11
Less gap in the top places 20,18,16,14,12,10,9,8,7,6,5 31.3% 5
Other 2
One suggestion was to add a point for pole. Similar to "leading a lap" points, this only helps the fastest car pull away in the points system even further. However it is easier to score (vs watching an hour replay to see who crosses the start/finish in first place as cars enter the pits). Jury is still out on this one. I am going to use this season's standings to experiment with the point system to see if I can get some closer scoring...to keep drivers fighting for every position instead of yielding to get extra cash.

The tentative schedule, based on these results, will be...

Circuito de Madrid (pre season - CS)
Laguna Seca Raceway (CS)
Fuji Speedway (SH)
Autumn Ring (SM)
Nürburgring Nordschleife (SS - time change)
Suzuka Circuit (RH - weather change)
Road Course – Daytona (RM)
Circuit de la Sarthe (RS - time change, maybe weather too)

The selections are based on your votes. The order is based on what would work best for certain tracks. Aside from Autumn Ring and Laguna, all the tracks are going to be very fast. I was hesitant about including Nurburgring since any damage will cost you over a minute...but you voted for it, not me. If you don't know the track well, race your own pace and make the time up on the very long straight....since getting damage in the first sector could cost you minutes as you limp back to pit road.

Coming from exp. (I pitted 6 out of 10 laps first season) the wrecks add nearly 3 minutes to the lap if they happen in the first couple sectors. Two corners in particular probably caused 30-40% of the wrecks and they are both in the first 2 minutes if the course. Steady laps may not win Nurb, but they will podium. Oh and make sure you practice the course at Night....TOTALLY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE. Sweaty palms, difficult course, tire wear + The inability to see....you figure the outcome out.

Gah why did you all vote for Suzuka again? We need some more variety!

That and le sartye are the only dupes from last season, i'd say thats pretty good.

I couldnt pull it off last night, wished I hadn't have skipped that race, might have had a chance. But I know tonight will be a very tight race for about 4 people. Good Luck to the contenders, I'm aiming for podiums, so I can have two podiums for Championship this year.

EDIT:

Can't get podium, just looked at points. I'm just going to get as high a position as I can tonight then.

I'm having some problems with my brake pedal. Sometimes it only registers up to half, sometimes its 3/4. I have no idea what's wrong with it.

I'm starting to think Fanatec stuff is crap.

Clubsport Pedals - Brake pedal stopped returning, bad load cell.
Standard Pedals - Problem I'm having now.
GT3RS Wheel - Permanently lost center.
GT2 Wheel - Occasional squealing noise, don't know what it is and if it's even a problem.

It's a shame because the stuff is great while it works.

Bummer man. I haven't had any issues with my DFGT. It's not the greatest but it gets the job done. I've been noticing though, that when I apply very light pressure to the brake, it doesn't register. So those times when I just want to scrub a little speed off, my tires end up doing the work instead of my brakes.

I think my next wheel will probably be a G27, and I'll see what's available in terms of brake mods since I really like how stiff the CSPs are. I prefer the G27s wheel anyway because it's a thinner rim.

Haven't got the money for that right now though, saving up for a project car.

well, it looks like i will miss the race again tonight

i've really enjoyed myself with this series, and i am excited for the next one!

good luck to everyone

👍

There is a PS3 system upgrade. Get online soon to update it before the race.

Updates dont have to be performed. Its to a users benefit, but the service can always be declined. See the borrowing glitch for details.

I dont think it'll let you on PSN if you don't do the firmware upgrade. I might be mistaken though.

Correct, this is a mandatory update, meaning you cannot login to PSN if you don't update. Sometimes updates are optional, but this is not one of them.

Make sure you sign on early and install the new PSN update. Room will be open around 9:30.

I can't even sign into PSN right now; I'm getting a DNS error. Anyone else having issues?

Oh well internet crashed. Got boring though, everyone was VERY spread out, and you would either wait 6 laps for a faster car to catch you, or slow 10 seconds or more for them to catch you.

Sorry bowtie, that happened to me last season. This race ws totally different though. Sl3ight, Wiifreak and i raced nose to tail the entire time and it came down to the last few turns. I'll post a full report later.
