Speaking of button sequences... can everyone who races with a controller please remap your horn button? The default setting is pushing down the left joystick...but drivers that use that stick to steer often slam the horn down when they take tight turns. Guess what Monaco is filled with? That's right, tight turns.

Please, please, please do this. This is one thing that drives me insane. I can deal with people chatting on the mic, but the horns just put me over the edge.

I'm having some internet issues. I'll get my parts list to you as soon as its straightened out.

edit: internet is back up, will have upgrade list around 2:30

My car is no where near as fast as yesterday's, but I have a secret weapon

I think my car is faster in a straight line...but it understeers and chews up the front tires like crazy. I was trying a bunch of camber and ride height settings last week but never quite got the speed I needed out of the car. I'll be slow on my own but I think I'll do well enough to draft some slightly faster cars.

A secret weapon huh. What might that be?

Mounted minigun? Front mounted rockets? Is Q branch working on your car?

No upgrades for me tonight. Saving up for the season finale.

Hopefully 1:48s can get me where I need to be.

Possible chance I'll miss as well. Leaving for Detroit immediately after work tomorrow. Have to take dog to relatives, go buy vacation feeders for fish, drop keys off to someone oh and pack. Yeah, packing will be important. Plus squeeze dinner in. And I have a 3 hour window to accomplish this.

In case I'm there, I made no changes to my car this week.

Up-to-Date Standings--I was tired of scrolling back to pg 29.

Booo. You slacker!

I really don't like cote d Azur. The thought of running an endurance race on it makes me cringe. At the same time, I am out of the championship hunt by missing the last race (also my favorite track this season :().

So yes, I am slacking. :)

No mini-guns, but I see a sneak attack on people at about lap 10. Mwahahahahahaha.

Well, my power is out. Widespread outage apparently. Maybe it'll be back on before ten.

Interesting race. Thought I was starting pole, only to start 3rd. I realize two others were faster, but on my screen that wasnt the case. Ran 3 1:45s during the race, top time was 1:45.7xx. The High RPM turbo was my demise. I didnt have the exit speed out of the corners to use the draft to pass Wii. Had I started in front of him, it may have equaled things out. Had one mistake on a lap when Wiifreaks car had a couple lag jumps. Got nervous and put it into a wall. Spent laps 6-18 closing from 8 seconds to less than 2. Wii pits and I wait an extra 2 laps thinking that I would be get a good middle section, pit on wii schedule and remain ahead leaving seconds pit stop. I was off by 2 seconds though. Good race though. The 2nd place money is all I need to buy the only performance part Im missing. Left over, I will have 50 bucks. Guess thats for tipping the host :)

Now if I or Chuyler win, Wiifreak has to get 4th to take the championship. Should be great finale!

It was really , interesting race. I had good battle with grenade and twitchie.
Grenade had to leave race because of a tornado
At the start there were 8 cars , at the end there were just 5 .
Me taking the last place and 7,500 Cr I get the last planned upgrade to my car.

Had some really strange connection issues last night. It just felt like my car wasn't in the right spot, if that makes any sense. Then I got a few rubberband style lag spikes so I decided to pull into the pits and see what could be causing the issue. Turned off anything else that might be using bandwidth but to no avail.

Sometimes I really wonder how this game works. I've never experienced problems like this game has in any other game I've played.

That being said, I did put my car into the wall on my own. I'm not expecting a charity position so I'll take whatever last would be. I forget how many cars were running last night.

I had power issues mid race. So I got last, not you! lol

Yeah, kind of a downer last night for me, especially after my battle with Sl3ight Tuesday night. I think Sl3ight and i would have had another battle if he didn't clip the wall exiting the chicane. Again, I didn't have much passing power, but I might have been able to outbrake through the tunnel to get ahead. After sl3ight was out, Bowtie was a few seconds behind me and if I didn't hit all my turns right i'd see him close in. But then he too got disconnected. I spent the last 5 laps racing in 3rd gear to see what times I could put in. 1:52, yay.

We ran some tests at le Sarthe afterward... Basically i'm screwed. i'm about 10 mph off on the straights and I can't even keep up to draft so after lap 1 I'll likely be in last place hoping for others to make fatal mistakes.

To bad I'll miss it
I would have probably stolen last from you :sly:

My season is pretty much over at this point. I've got 3rd place unless Sl3ight can pull off a win. If only 8 people show up, the best he can do is tie me though. I have no chance at running with the leaders. Even if Diabolic wrecks, he'll still have enough time to make back an unscheduled pit stop. I don't expect WiiFreak will ever wreck so getting ahead of both of them is a pipe dream.

Looking back, the only mistake i made was a crash at Trial Mountain which allowed WiiFreak to get by me. That cost me 4 points but wouldn't really change my status with WiiFreak. A bigger mistake was taking a bet on a non-turbo car. I dropped 15k on stage 2 engine when I might have been better off with stages 1+2 weight reduction. However a mid rpm turbo would have made a bigger improvement on my speed. I also spent money on the suspension but that was pretty much a requirement given how poorly my car handled on racing tires. I wouldn't have placed 2nd at Suzuka without it.

Perhaps all that is moot though, and the real issue was that the MG was unbeatable. WiiFreak went from 1st to only 3rd at Tsukuba. He never placed lower than 5th. That could be luck with other driver's accidents, skill, or simply that the MG was too fast to compete with. Oddly enough, its the one car we argued about at the beginning of the season because some drivers had the car at over 375pp while others did not. It was the only car that didn't need mods to be the fastest in the first race. Even the Talon needed a turbo to be quick.

Aside from the race I sandbagged. I too never took worse than 5th in the MG :). Its a bit helter skelter at exits on cold tires, but with the spoiler equipped, its far superior than any other car I tried

My car was loose the first lap at Monaco right after the hotel hairpin. the double right hander I had to take with partial throttle. If I lifted off, the car would spin around. If I ran too much throttle, it would understeer. After the first lap It was fine and would gradually wear down the fronts faster producing understeer by the end of the run.

I actually picked the 280z because it oversteered at the beginning of the season and I knew it could only get better with stickier tires and a wing. I had pretty good balance at Monaco but I just didn't have the speed.
