There are currently 210,848 registered users on Gtplanet, if we give out a dollar each, we can buy a 200k car for GTP.

I don't mean to blow your bubble, but, how about if we do get a dollar or 2 from each member, we donate it to a children's hospice or a charity dealing with illnesses?

2nd hand C6 ZO6 > 2nd hand GT-R

Really doesn't matter, because the GT-R is a soulless computer car that is worshiped by kids that played too much Gran Turismo growing up.

Agreed. 👍

NASCAR.

When you're racing, the "soul" of the car doesn't matter. That doesn't contribute to being faster. The GT-R also appeals to more people because it is an international icon of modern car technology. If we were to actually buy a car in the name of GTPlanet, realistically, the R35 GT-R would be one of, if not the best car to buy.

Minus the fact the ZO6 can achieve similar levels of performance at a track and costs quite a bit less 2nd hand. And much easier to keep running, get power out of, and so on. And the GT-R is an international icon to GT fanboys.

Not like this is serious anyhow.

+1
And I'll be the owner because I'm awesome.

And I'm super fast & super safe, so I can drive

C'mon guys. We all know that only Race'emhard has the required experience to be our GTP racing driver.

I'm nearly 25 years old. I love the GTR for it's looks, performance and (relative) affordability. I'm not going to spend time debating whether a car or any other inanimate object has "soul".

No. That is a severe misconception.

I could go to any place in the country and more people would recognize the Corvette than the GTR.

That is because "international" doesn't only mean USA. And the Corvette is and American car which has had the same general body style for over a decade.

Before you guys start debating on which car is better than the other, make sure that you have driven them both thoroughly to the max in real life.

Unless you're talking about GT, in which case, ignore this.

That number is just registrations, there would be no more than 10,000 active users if even that.

I remember a while back Jordan saying there's only around 20,000 active users.

Off topic (but keeping with the theme), as the subject seems to be lots of little bits of money making a big difference please check out the links in my signature.

Because charity money usually goes into greedy pockets and never solves any problems.

Let's be realistic. It won't happen. Not only there will be vast disagreements about the car but, most importantly, there is no use for it.

Don't be ridiculous, it's GTP's wedding present to me. :sly:
