Let's all get together and buy a car.

How about we all give say 5 dollars each and buy a very important member of this forum a nice car of his choice..

Jordan, what car do you want? :dopey:

Judging by the age and maturity of most of our members, I suggest a bunch of used $500 GM cars, and do the 24 Hrs of Sour Grapes*.

We mods can enforce the rules, in between driving duties. I'll brew the coffee.

* or whatever favorite fruit, but sounds better.

That is because "international" doesn't only mean USA. And the Corvette is and American car which has had the same general body style for over a decade.

It's called an example, you could replace the Vette with almost any Ferrari, a Porsche etc...

My point it that outside of GT the GTR isn't as big as some people here like to believe.

Seeing that most already can't agree in this thread I doubt we would be able to decide what to buy and what to race it in  plus ongoing costs etc and who's going to keep and drive it...

But it would be a cool idea. We should enter a one race type event like the mille miglia or the gumball rally then sell the thing :sly:

If we're going to raise money to buy a car, Ayrton Senna's debut GP Toleman is for sale.

We should buy it. And race the hell out of it.

We'd be better off buying it and selling it to a museum for a profit and keep doing it till we have a fair amount each ;)

Rubbish. I do like some cars being mothballed but I'd want this one on the track.

But it's such a legendary car, why not buy a different car from that era and run the 🤬 out of it..

Because Senna.

Wouldn't you love to drive something he drove in? I know I would.

Wouldn't like to 'trash' it though..

No. No, no, just no.

Um . . . yes, that might be too tight a fit.

How about this?:

We just have to pay a bit more insurance.

But I'd like to drive it.

Mothball Ceccotto, Warwick or Giacomelli's TG183. The same could be said for trashing them, but if the purpose of preserving the car is only for others to look at, I don't think it matters that much who owned it.

To have the chance to drive a racing car Senna drove would be better than simply seeing it gathering dust at the spectacular but ambivalence-inducing Donington Collection.

It's not like we could raise the funds to buy it though. Maybe I'm being too ambitious...

You want a car that represents forward thinking and GT5? Hush with your silly GT-R's

How about the prius? :sly:
It sure does appear in the GT series a lot. IIRC there was even a GT4 demo where all you could do was drive a prius. :dopey: Then there's the premium prius in GT5 and the touring car.
It's the proper car to represent GT. 👍

*runs away before people throw rocks*

Would be awesome if the people who donate money for a racecar get their name on it. (size depending on donation?)

Imagine a car with a few GTP logo's and 10.000 names on it :sly:

And there photo? Like the Redbull F1 and NASCARS.. :dopey:

One does not simply buy an expensive car on a limited budget.

How about a 1967 Stingray?

It has character, and it's a 'vette, though I have no idea how much it would cost to get one. We could each drive the car and give it to the nearby member in his/her country. :D

Good idea, but what about people like me who live near the coast, if it came from England en route to America I'd have a hefty bill :nervous:

Alternatively, we can all just give out our entire fortunes and then purchase a fleet of Bugatti Veyrons.
