Seems I struck a nerve eh?
As a native born Scotman, residing in the US through no fault of my own (parents moved in 1976, what can you do), I certainly hold no ill will towards British automotive history. In fact, my favorite cars in the US-Starved GT3 game is the Aston Martins (most gorgeous cars ever in my not-so-humble opinion). I was quite sad to see Ford bought them out, although economically it was the only way for AM to survive....Perhaps my comments were born more of frustration with the lack of British ownership rather than true dismissal of British automotive production......
Basically all company's own another company, and its not just britain its everywhere.
Sad, but true these days. However, to me, Lambo IS now a German car, sad as that may be to some. And RR and Bently as well.....wouldn't it be great if the UK had it's own version of Ford, someone who could also own Jaguar and Aston Martin (my favorite Brit cars) and keep the company where it belongs.
And these powerful US cars are no good for track racing.
Really? How about Polyphony let me (and other car fans) decide that. To be honest, a rebuilt 1970 Dodge Challeneger, with the addition of modern tuning technology, would be a decent street racer, no question. And those of us who like them (ALOT of us) would get the cars THEY love to drive, instead of having to choose between Lancer A and Impreza B (hate em both) to play GT. I suppose GT2 just spolied me in regards to choice....
by your own logic dodge is not american...its german...fool
Actually, DC is a multinational conglomerate headquartered in both the USA (Auburn Hills, Michigan) AND Germany (Stuttgart). Oh, and according to it's website, it's official corporate language is English. So I accept your appology on that fool comment
there is a reason for soobie wrx and lancer dominance in the market of rally capable cars sold in the us
Who said anything about Rally cars??? Last I checked Gran Tourismo translates to English as "Grand Touring", i.e paved street/track touring/racing. While I am sure that the WRX and Lancer EVO are great for both rally and street racing (if a wee bit uncomfortable in real life comfort) I think a little CHOICE would be nice. As I said before, perhaps GT2 spoiled me, and GT4 will renew my belief in the game.......GT2 variety with GT3 gameplay and graphics...perfection in my mind.
However, if GT4 comes out and offers only ONE BMW, only a few decent U.S. cars and limited UK cars, then screw it, I'll go back to GT2 and play that game. I don't think that will happen, so here's to hope.
I liked driving the Dodge Intrepid in GT2....I liked the Stratus too. And the Charger especially (Challenger too). These are what made me want to get into playing the GT series and dammit, I want them back.
If polyphony deems it appropriate to put the Vitz (crap econobox) and Suzuki (also crap) into their GT game, I don't think I am asking for too much to get a Dodge Stratus Turbo, 70' Dodge Challenger and the 99' Dodge Charger Concept................
However, you are all free to disagree.....
