My date would have to be 04 December 2010, which is a Friday, and just about a month later than the original release date. I can only hope, and anything sooner is a bonus.

3rd im sure you mean as games are normally released on a friday.

but yeah im actually with you on that one

im not believing anything until kaz tells us the date himself.

people are getting updates for the 29th ? sounds reasonable but i dunno

i dunno if retailers are just putting up random dates they think but i know for definite our one is off cos we always release things on a friday

my job say this - http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=5044;0;-1;-1;-1&sku=272559

i say two days later

anything sooner and im happy to be honest cos it would still be in november and not that far away at all.

@Arklight

It's gonna sell like hotcakes and there is going to be millions of people out shopping already I don't think the crowd would be a whole lot bigger on that one day just for GT5.

@Micka_

I don't even care what people post for their pre-orders. If Kaz or Sony won't tell us I'm sure as hell not going to take a gaming stores information as good concrete. And even if Kaz/Sony tell us a new date I won't even get my hopes up because until I go pick up my copy at Gamestop it is not coming out. So for all the people out there saying wait another month.. They had a Japan release that got canceled and Kaz said the game was basically done and now another dely for worldwide. I won't even believe what they tell us next. Not hating but I just want to play GT.
I will now be able to try and finish NFS Shift.

i would have to disagree here.

people will get out to be the first for this game, halo reach was a real big seller and everywhere noticed mad numbers coming into store in already christmas shopping season.

then we will have black op's too, i doubt everyone is gonna sit at home and not bother getting the game just because others are out christmas shopping.

i say there will be people queuing up at all hours for Gran Turismo 5.

Okay I will agree. Then what they should do is release it on Black Friday eve. :)

Should release in November so that stocks can sell out and more come in.
Doesn't make sense to have one stock load sell out right on top of Christmas.

Next year guys.

Edit what is the actual date of black Friday.

This is why I said Nov 23 for the US release. They would have great release day numbers, and then good black Friday numbers, for a GREAT first week of sales. Not every region has a black Friday, and therefore it would be fine for those regions to release GT5 on that Friday, if that is their normal release day. A Nov 23 release would also give GT5 almost a whole month of sales before Christmas. This is my guess, and if at all possible, if I was PD/Sony, I would shoot for that day, even if it cost a little more to "open" a production slot, or more to ship them in time to be released that date.

Hopefully sooner than this.

Honestly, I'm surprised that they don't have a new release date yet. From the sound of it, it is just a matter of scheduling when the discs will be produced. Even if they are having issues finding a time slot, I would think it would take less than a week to figure it out.

I think it will be december 7th as well (for US, 10th for EU). Why i think so? Because, if they really want to release it before Xmas, then it's like the last date they should do it.
I bet some ppl thought about buying GT5 as a gift for someone and ~2 weeks before Xmas sounds like a last date to decide already. If it's out - buy it, if not - buy something else.
And as much as i would love to hope it'll be release somewhere in november... I don't know, but i think Sony wouldn't risk their reputation for just a small (maybe 2 weeks) delay and we would've had new release date by day it was delayed.

Thats exactly why, realistically, I believe we are probably looking at 2011.

I'm torn about black friday. I'm guessing (guessing is all we've got at this point) that it won't be before then, so black friday is both good and bad.

If it IS black friday I have to deal with the throngs of "merry shoppers" at the Best Buy to pick up my preordered CE.

But if it's NOT black friday I have to wait at least another week to get the game.

I would find it hard to believe Sony would throw away Christmas sales by releasing it later than Dec 3, so my guess is that's the day.

+1

No way is a game going to release on Dec 31. That close to Christmas but not out before Christmas? :dunce:

I still think it will be out before the end of the year.

Hate to say this but checked with Gamestop (US) and they have it slated for January release along with Little Big Planet 2 and a couple of other heavy hitters.

WTF?!? certainly makes sense if the "production" of the DVD's hasn't started yet.

I'm guessing you didn't get memo about the date being a placeholder? Unless it comes from Sony, Don't believe it.
