I hope it will never arrive. It just can't be worth all this wait. But the wait itself has been a great time with all the speculation and excitement from the smallest bits of new info.

Three weeks ago Best Buy Canada sent me a robo e-mail, resetting the release date to December 31, 2010 (a marker).

Curiously, less than three hours they just sent me another robo e-mail...with the same release date. Coincidence?

I don't know exactly how it was when GT3 and GT4 were released but in my mind there were firm releasedates in those days and delay followed. Wasn't that with delays of three to nine months? I don't think we will have GT5 in our hands before the end of februari 2011. We will wait and see when and what they will come up with. I have lost hope of a release in 2010.

I'm hoping for December 7th in the US. Already put in a Vacation from the 8th to 20th :)

Had my vacation request in for November 6th to 14th. Stuck with it...figured I had a real need for some time off, and now that I've bought GT5:P and Modnation Racers (as well as three FPS) I think I'll have plenty of distractions.

Any threads on Modnation here ? A quick look through and a few races today have me rather impressed.

I think this whole thing is a ploy to sell more copies of GT5p. :D

If you think GT5 is going to come out in 2010 I have some swamp land to sell you. Look at the total lack of advertising for this game. It's probably the biggest PS3 exclusive ever released and there is almost no ads or commercials for it. They aren't just going to throw it out there and not advertise it. Besides the X1, the US GT site hasn't even been updated since the middle of September. Contrast that with MAG, MW2 and MOH who all had huge media releases at least 60 days before release. Any BB or electronics store you walked into had shelves full of empty Black Ops boxes almost a month and a half ahead of release. Sony has been almost completely silent about GT5 since a 3 sentence press release about the delay.

The lack of advertising tells me that they may not even have a finished product yet. They can't set a date because they don't know when disc production can begin. Or it's just a big marketing ploy / $$$ thing. Either way, no major advertisements = no game any time soon.

February 2011.

Or maybe we'll all die in a multiple car pileup or 747's will fall from the sky and kill every single one of us. Dude, lets try and be optimistic than that.If they were that far behind, they would not say Holiday Season release date, and the delay would say TBA or coming soon.

With this extra "month" I'll be using the time to save for a force-feedback wheel.
As opposed to experiencing the game on a joypad.
Swings and roundabouts, really.
Dec 7th., North America / Dec 10th., RotW. - I've squared it with God.

That's an Expected holiday release. The same as expected to release info this week.

They did say "holiday season". Why would they be so vague? I agree with your reasoning- but there will be at least 1 more delay since they are not giving any clear reasons. My guess = Late spring 2011

I think this is probably on the money. "Holiday season 2010" isn't binding on Sony or PD any more than the initial holiday season 2009 release date was. Even going back to mid-09, the game "could've been released" according to PD. My guess is Q2 2011.
