Do you have an LCD monitor?
I have two, one of whitch I'm not using right now (that one is 15 inch, but the other one is 17 inch). If you want to count, I accually have three if you include my PowerBook.

Does anyone have XPlanet? AKA, the hardest wallpaper to set up on the internet, especially for Macs.

It shows a map/globe of the Earth, and has some real time information on weather, earthquakes, and more. You can also change the planet/objeact your looking at, the distance from the objecect, and the coordinates (optional if you want one certain part of the Earth). I'm centered on Orlando FL.
It may be a big picture here, but I scaled it down.

And it isn't "X" Planet, Its 10 Planet.

@ GT4: If we don't bother then why would we inquire? I enjoy clicking thumbnails because of the *click* noise it makes. I also like the dotted line that appears around the thumbnail.

:odd: This caught me off guard...

Fine, from now on, I'll try to post both thumbnail and image.

I also like the dotted line that appears around the thumbnail.

I accually feel that is verry annoying. It bothers me enough to click it away, even if another page is going to load. Its like the leaky foucet dripping while you try to get to sleep. Or that itch that you just can't scratch.

I sometimes play games with the dotted line. I try to click the thumb so that the line appears, but the link doesn't activate. Like it choked in the midst of redirecting me. It doesn't work very often, but when it does I smile.

Thanks Integ, I was just about to get that. Isn't it neat how that site doesn't change URL? Crazy.

Click on Archive in the top right corner, then the picture is called "Insert in slot" in the bottom right section--11/05. It's even set up for two monitors, but you can choose one or the other. Mine is the left mointor.

I think you've got the wrong name of the picture. :P

Nice wallpapers. re the first three from the Saab?

Andf they're in widescreen too; I'll have to resize them for my desktop.

Thanks for the pics anyway. 👍

Yeah, Vasectomy. Oops. Well, since it was teh only name I remembered, it made sense, since you put the mag int gun...

Honda, what do you need to run that...whatever it is? Is it a dynamic wallpaper? Is it like Google Earth, execpt that it shows other planets and stars, but no maps? Does it work for Windows? Do you need another program to make it work? Does it suck memory? Can an average laptop run it?

It works for all systems, but it was origionally made for Linux, strangely.

You can download other skins, like political, but I like to keep it realistic and simple. no placemarks, no complex animations.

It is very hard to set it up, but there is another program called Xplanet Controller, that makes it many times easier to change settings.

For showing a specific location, you need to provide a coordinate. No address. No zip code. No scrolling to find it. Use Google Earth to find those coordinates.

Space? Not much (to me)! without all of the maps and junk that I don't use in there, the combination of both apps is less than 10MB. But that really depends on your map and your addons. The map thats already there is good, but if you want the best one avalable, you can get a 175MB picture from NASA's Visible Earth website. But thats only if you have a screen thats 21600 by 10800 pixels. :dopey:

You don't need any program to run it, unless you have a Mac (I hate that part! :ouch: ).

One more note. Don't install it on the desktop. Actually, don't put it anywhere else but the Program Files. I heard theres a bug if you put it there, but I'm not getting it.

At first, it will have a list of errors (it happened to me). You will get frustrated (it happened to me). Thats because something isn't setup right in the controller (it happened to me). What I did was delete every trace of the program and reinstall it (I bet that was the fastest way of solving it). I think the cloud map servers are down, so you may not see any clouds for a while (its happening to me).

I think that was longer than some of Abraham Lincoln's speeches. :dopey:

EDIT: I just found this screenshot on their website

Would that be a new one on IFL? I see it is...nice. I love our new colored bills.

I don't know about you, but I see an infraction coming his way. I know I didn't get a warning before I got my first.
I see **** and *******, but no ****, ******, or *****.

Now I'm upset again. The clouds aren't working. And the coordinates are off, and is looking in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.:ouch:
EDIT: I figured out that 2 Xplanet apps were running at the same time, and they were battling each other for the wallpaper. Now I just need to figure out the cloud problem.
