Let's see those desktops (rev 4.0)

You know what? I've had nothing but bad experiences with the "hide desktop icons" option on either of my computers. When I hide the icons my wallpaper goes all out of whack. The size changes, and it doesn't fit the screen anymore, even when the picture is exactly 1024x768. I can come up with no reasonable explanation for this phenomenon. Does anyone else encounter this excessively annoying problem?

EDIT: Well, I've just made a liar of myself. The wallpaper didn't change just now when I hid the icons. It has done it before, though. So, has this happened to anyone else before? It's only on occasion, it seems, but it has happened.
