Burnout
Correctomundo.

You can get pretty much exactly what's in the new Intel Macs from other venders, too.

The hardware is the same now. I will say, however, that Apple does an awesome job with the packaging. 👍

So it would look like your desktop? :odd:

*Points at RAM* :guilty:
Yeah, thats what it's like with my GeorgeBook Pro. When multitasking, I'll only have like 5mb free... :indiff: It is really bottlenecking my whole computer.

...which is why I ordered gig stick last night. :P

Thanks 👍
Ouch! :ouch: How much do you have? I have 512 MB and with visual studio + a browser + mp3 player open it gets pretty slow...
I've got 512 in this laptop, it just doesn't seem to last too long. The reason it sucks right now is because I'm checking out this Pandora site. Place uses some RAM.
I also had PS open.

You suck!
The thing with this laptop is it's running dual-channel DDR2, so I'll have to replace both sticks and stuff; don't really have the resources for that right now.
Someday...

Man, Event, you just got your MacBook not too long ago and it seems like you have customized the looks of everything about the OS and its programs:tup: . I'm too lazy to do mine.... the dock is still on the bottom (autohide) and I have all standard icons. Even my XP machine is using the classic theme.:P

I get bored easily, so I fiddle with stuff. I can't change themes yet, since shapeshifter isn't Mactel compatible... :(

And Windows Classic Theme on XP ftw 👍

...unless you mean you still have the blue Fischer-Price theme :yuck:

Oh no, I hate that theme! (what were they thinking?) The silver theme isnt bad though... but I'm in the classic mood for now.

And as for 512mb bottlenecking your system.... try 256mb running windows xp and integrated graphics on top of that:lol: (and you wonder why i run the classic theme with all the eye candy stuff turned off)

Its cool to see a lot of people with Linux and OS X on GT Planet:tup:

Here's my windows desktop, nothing special here....

I'll post my Ubuntu desktop later

I was using Ubuntu for a while, but I borked up X11, and installation had a 10% success rate (I couldn't fix X11), since the laptop I was using had a farked CD drive.

it's a very user friendly Linux distro. :)

My new background.

Could you tell me how and where to get/change themes on Mac OS X? I'm fairly new to it and haven't found how to do that. Also what's that little iTunes icon you have next to your gmail notifier? :dopey:

Or anyone else for that matter!

The program to change themes is called ShapeShifter. The little iTunes icon is a nifty little program called iTunes Statistician, which tracks your iTunes listening habits.

Sweet. Thanks a bunch. Last question:D

Which theme is that? I've seen a bunch on the net but they look so crappy and unusual making it look like something funky instead of something clean. Where can I download the one you are using on your desktop at the time of the screen shot?

PS: how do you get back to the old original apple theme?

:scared:

The theme is called Milk 3.0 Blue and can be downloaded off of a great website, www.macupdate.com . You can search for ShapeShifter and see many other themes as well. To change your theme back to the default Aqua theme, choose it in the ShapeShifter preference pane. 👍
