The thing has....what, 500 HP?
And takes half a minute to get to 60 MPH?
And I'm expected to pay over $200K for it?

I can get a bicycle, put a large lawnmower engine on it, and get to 60 quicker than the LFA.

</sarcasm>

Sorry, boys. This one is simply too good NOT to use...

Lexus have announced a special edition LFA which appears to have a Nürburgring lap time in its sights. This isn’t unusual or cheating as the Pagani Zonda F Clubsport had different suspension components fitted from the options list for its lap record attempt. Looks pretty hardcore 👍

Surprisingly I could find a Lexus LFA thread in the Automotive section of the forum but if I’ve missed it please move this post.

Lexus adds a 'Ring handling pack to the LFA. When's the lap time going to be announced?

Although the first customer deliveries aren’t due to start until 2011 Lexus has already announced that a limited run of LFA’s will be produced with a track-focused Nürburgring package.

50 of the 500 LFA’s Lexus is producing are earmarked for the Nürburgring package treatment that sees aerodynamics, engine, gearbox and suspension all tweaked. The changes add up to an overall package that focuses on improved driving characteristics rather than outright speed.

A larger front spoiler, side fins and fixed rear wing provide additional downforce whilst an extra 10bhp has been liberated from the engine to take power to 562bhp. Gearshift times have also been cut to 0.15 seconds though the 0-62mph time and top speed remain the same at 3.7secs and 202mph respectively. Revised sports suspension and a new wheel and tyre package complete the makeover.

Buyers will also have the option to take part in a driving tuition programme at the Nürburgring as well as receiving a one-year pass to the circuit.

Already a fan of this car in normal trim... But this one just takes the cake for me... All I can do is

- Let me clean up the puddle under my feet, before I slip and break my neck drooling over this thing :P

As the normal trim; fantastic looking thing. I also love that orange tint. It's not "in your face" orange as the oranges on all other supercars. Love it!

I'm not sure they've even sold five of these, and already they're coming out with a special edition?

Also, when's the Super GT version coming?

Does it come in something other than that orange? That color looks too washed out and too 1970s. Especially for a Japanese car with so much technology packed into it.

Fahrenheit orange might look a bit better.

Yeesh. I still find the car to be overall pleasing, but it still doesn't do it for me. Oh well.

The way I understand it, there won´t be one. And if there is, it´ll be as far off from the roadcar as the GTR is - pretty pointless IMO. SuperGT only allows V8 engines...

There has been talk about an FIA version though... GT1 or GT3? Who knows?

Did they find out how the old guy died? Sounds like he had a heart attack at the wheel or something.

I don't care about the price-tag. I'd buy this car for that V10 sound alone. The fact is that it's a staggering piece of automotive engineering. If I'd were Toyota I wouldn't want any half-wit to go out and buy this car on a Sunday and beat it to hell.

I think its pretty weird that they kept bringing up the 458 Italia in that review. Probably because that is what they should have compared it with in the first place.
