Have just had a few runs and improved from 1:31.093 down to 1:29.386. From position over 2,000 to about 358 I think it is.
Using all sorts of a tune, some from here some from there and some just took a stab at. Have found that getting the driving correct is more important than anything else, as is often pointed out here.

Transmission may not be quite right, but I'm pretty sure it is. I have to go out for a few hours so if there are any issues with it, I'll address them when I get back.

Like I've said before, this is a very loose setup and may not be for everyone, but if you can manage to tame it, the rewards can be huge. Good luck everyone, keep pushing and don't stop until you reach your goals. 👍

The 'Ratt.
Very nice tune sir...

Pretty much what I used, just slightly more rake on mine Always amazes me how fast you are with the DS3, especially on a tough TT like this one!

Brands Hatch is my favourite gt6 track so every time there is a TT on Brands Hatch I'm extra motivated. There were 4 time trials on Brands Hatch so far and I have top 20s in all of them, even 2 top3s so I know how to drive here. There are also some other tracks I enjoy driving on but in general I know I don't belong in top10. Here I'll be very disappointed if I don't finish in top10. :)

Hi guys! Here is my tune for the Lexus LFA '10. Thanks to Stotty for some suspension, brakes and LSD tips, also thanks to Cargo Ratt for the dampers and anti roll bars settings. With the ds3 I'm currently on 1:27:056 but I see another 2-3 tenths with a perfect lap.

Wow, had to check if I have TC on, so much more control with this tune, haven't exactly made any improvement yet, but many thanks for sharing!!

:gtpflag:

Watch the replay, the guy is driving a Calsonic GT-R GT500

I thought this event is only exclusive with LFA cars??? How can he choose other car?? Last time one event was hacked, and now this one is too. Can these people stop ruining the competition and fun?

Knobend... and a slow knobend at that... if the best he can do in that car is a mid 24 he clearly a **** driver.

Just watched the replay... he's on RH tyres and using traction control in a car with massive downforce  The lap is pure garbage.

Edit...

Managed to sneak a quick session in after chores and popping out to fetch essentials - red wine and a euromillions ticket ;)

Now in the 26's :D

1'26.991

Shortly after had a lap 0.221 up on that at the last split, but got nervous and immediately binned it in the left hander :mad::banghead::lol:

I'm finding time in almost every corner, and a perfect lap for me would now be around a low 26.6... but so tough to get all the corners on the backside right.

Nice job @Stotty 👍.

Looks like I need to pull my finger out!

Hopefully I can put in a good session over the weekend and improve my time.

I have the red wine & the euromillions ticket.......I'm just missing the 1:26.***.

I'm driving the LFA just like I drive the GSX........:yuck:...
...although it's like the GSX has put on weight and needs to go on a diet .

Been at this for the last 6 hours now ...just can't string it all together. I've been up on my ghost by .500 - .550 on a pretty consistent basis through the first 3 corners, then I lose all, or most of it on that left hander going up the hill. :banghead: If I'm lucky, I can come out of there still .100 ahead of my ghost, but that's it. I pretty much have the other corners figured out, its just that one that is really killing me. I believe the corner I'm talking about is Surtees. Its right after Cooper Straight. If I could just crack that one corner, I could seriously contend for a top 10 spot. Any help/advice on this part of the track would be greatly appreciated. 6 hours and counting .....I'm on a mission and I'm not stopping till I get this. :grumpy:

Whats it take for a guy to get some help/advice around here? :indiff: I see how it is. :P

Sorry Cargo, I can't be of much help. I just try to live by the famous words of one Charles De Mar in the movie "Better Off Dead". He says "Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn." Granted, he is talking about skiing, but I try to apply it to my car racing as well! :D:cheers:

On a more serious note, how do you guys/gals feel about Active Steering being used in these events? I often see some players in the Top 10 using it and I also see a lot of Top 10 times not using it, for the same event. So, I doubt there is a consensus that it makes one faster, or I'm sure more people would use it to improve their time. Frankly, I don't even really know what it does. I've tried driving with it turned on before and I couldn't really tell. But then again, I'm not super consistent in my laps either.

Hahah, that's one tough corner, I hope I could give you advice but I really suck on this one  I think I know what you are talking about though, I think I have hit that corner quite fast couple of time just by accident, I mean braking just on the right time seems to result to a little drift and car hangs itself to the driving line, there's nice dip inside the corner which allows faster speed trough that corner if you can hang your front tire there, but it's really easy to miss, or brake early, or too much... or something...

Good morning :gtpflag:

About to have another crack at it. After my best time yesterday (1:29.3) I put matej2547's tune on my car and did some laps. Found the gearbox setup superior to the one I was using, more low gears to chose. (have said previously that I couldn't get Cargo's gears at all by reading the instructions)
Was usually in front of my ghost but couldn't complete a decent lap. Could've been the 6 beers though.

You might post a better lap time if you did not have so many beers Dalone

I'd help if I could, but I'm having trouble with every single corner on this track

I've tried active steering only once, a week ago. While it doesn't necessarily make you any faster, it does make handling a car like this one really easy. I'm not sure how it works exactly, but basically it seemed to help every time I was getting oversteer, allowing me to be much more aggressive with the throttle.

Personally I wish they would disable AS for TTs, or at least allow us to filter out those who use it...

I don't have that much experience but I think AS actually steers actively and saves you from a lot of trouble that way, I mean where TC limits your outputs AS actually gives you help by giving some inputs of it's own. I think it's impossible to make car any faster that way but it indeed allows you to be more aggressive in places and may even save you from loosing time by correcting any unwanted oversteer. I think.

I thought AS just stiffened things up

I only use it when at least half of the top 10 are using it. For me, it makes my wheel feel like it used to before the update that made it floppy and horrible

The beer helps me get faster lap times. But shhhh dont want to advertise my drink driving......
I remember hearing many times when I was younger (over 50 years ago) "I drive better after I've had a few beers."
And I probably did too. But not anymore, wouldn't DUI (again) ever, last one was over 20 years ago.
Nearly lost my two adult sons when they rolled their car after a night out on the town. Thank god they've learned their lesson too now.
But here. Well, sometimes I get my best times here late at night after one or eleven.

ps..Today, sober of course, I was behind Cargo, but in front of PMJG, up until that horrendous R/H corner, the 3rd corner before the final straight. Of course as Cargo has told me plenty of times, it doesn't matter unless you are in front at the finish line, ha ha.

Active steering; I find it does 2 things...

1. Helps keep the rear under control on cars that are unstable on corner entries (some MR cars)
2. Allows you to get on the gas on corner exits with slightly less rick of oversteer

It's generally possible to drive just as quickly without it, but AS widens the margin of error - meaning you complete more laps and have a higher chance of nailing 'the one'.

It typically reduces rotation, so on FR & FF cars you either need to run without it, or tune the car to have more rotation.

Looking forward to getting another session in tomorrow. This is one of my favorite combos so far... the margins between a fast lap and crashing are so narrow, so it's mega rewarding when you get it right :)

Says the man in 2nd place

Yea, I know, right? I was thinking the same thing. I don't see you offering any advice either so.......:P

45 mins in to a session and improved to 1'26.946... off an awful T1... back in the top 10 :)

Edit...

45 mins later I've had multiple laps miles ahead of my ghost coming in to the 3 rights, and keep losing all the time :banghead:

Almost an hour later...

1'26.868

Should be chuffed, but lost 0.2 towards the end of the lap.

Surtees, for those struggling with it...

Brake between the 2 boards on the right hand side, loooong coast and get tight to the inside. Don't push hard on the way in... just feel the front end in to the corner. Don't be too eager to pick up the throttle - best to wait a fraction longer, get the lock off quickly, then you can go really hard on the gas. Key is to avoid any understeer on the way in. I can be ahead of @Sutuki and @eclipsee coming out of there on a good lap... then they kill me in the next 3 right handers

Oh, and @matej2547... your turn buddy ;)
