Liam's NA Miata - Finally back on the road!!!

So my Daikei hub came in the mail on Monday, that night I installed my Nardi. Here are some pics!

This thing is gorgeous, worth every penny. It feels so good and solid! Installation was...finicky at least for me it was. The Daikei hub made hooking up the horn easy as pie.
I'm still getting used to how much smaller it is than the factory wheel, its 330mm. Also the hand position is closer to 10 and 2 rather than 9 and 3, I'm getting used to that as well.
The smaller diameter means my leg don't rub up on the wheel during heel toe braking, and turning, its awesome. My legs have some much more room than before, they don't touch the wheel unless I really try.
Its freaking awesome, and really compliments the interior! I love it. Next on the list for the interior is the Carbonmiata door cards, which @DaxCobra has on his MX5.
Also have a tire balance and wheel alignment setup for this Saturday, I'm also getting my alignment bolts replaced so there won't be any clunking during hard cornering.
There is an auto cross event on the 22 that I want to enter, Ive seen Miatas go to our local events without them but hopefully I can get one before the event. My parents are paying half since its a safety feature and can save my life.
Super pleased with the wheel, and helps a ton with the redstitched look I'm going for.

That wheel is absolutely perfect. Truly compliments your car.

I need help. My car won't start. I went to start it up and nothing happened, I only heard an electrical humming noise. Pretty sure its my starter but what can I do to get it to start in the mean time? The car is sitting outside on our hill and its raining.

It started up perfectly last night, and now it pulls this s*** on me this morning.

I'm on a residential hill and if that doesn't work then I'll be stuck on the button on the hill in the middle of the street.

It could be the starter motor, but I think it'd be more likely to be a dead battery. Are you able to get a jump from someone else's car?

I just jumped it and it did nothing. I can do a bump start though, just worried it won't work.

I bump started it and it worked, I drove around the block and parked in the garage, turned the car off, then turned it back on and it started up fine. But I'm still worried this happening again.

That does sound quite battery-ish. If you can I'd try taking it for a longer drive (or just leave it running for a while) and keep an eye on it for the next few days. The battery could drain like that if something electrical had been left on, or it could just be getting a little tired through age.

The battery died the other day but i left the interior light on too long when I was installing my wheel. This morning the battery had power everything worked, the car didn't turn over, and all I heard was a humming noise when I turned the key.

Anyways, I bought a new starter, and its being installed right now at the mechanics for a good price. I'm also getting a wheel alignment and new alignment bolts installed.

How old is this battery? Also if you completely discharge a car battery you will most likely have to trash it as it won't hold a charge as efficiently anymore. Either get it tested at your local autoparts store (they usually do it for free) or be on the safe side and get a new one :)

Ok so got the car back from the mechanics all is good and the car feel awesome with the tires balanced, new alignment bolts and wheel alignment! They installed the new starter as well, the car turns over much nicer and faster than the old one. They also repaired a nail in my tire which I had no idea it was stuck in there.

So I'm pretty tight for money now, and have a roll bar to pay for in around a week, it's going to be close to a grand after taxes and the wonderful exchange rate from USD to CAN dollar. It's like $1.25 difference.

I have no idea how old the battery is lol, all I know is that it's weak. But a new battery is on the list!

Sounds like a battery, more than likely ran out of juice somehow, might have an electrical feature that's drawing power?

Okay so its been a looming time since I've updated.

So I got a Hard Dog Roll Bar, and I just lowered it yesterday. I got Eibach Springs off craigslist for $100!! Here is how she sits now.

It handles so much better, a lot less body roll, steering is sharper and it feels lighter and nimble. The ride is not to bad too, a little bouncy, but I was expecting it to be worse. I'm super happy with the height, I haven't scraped on anything yet!

In April I did an AutoX event!

Cant wait to do another event with the new springs. I had I rollbar in when I did the event.

So I'm really happy with the car right now. I plan to get a lip kit, eventually get some better wheels. Most likely going to be a set of RPF1's, 15x7.

And saving for new seat covers, gauges, and some floor mats.

Again, love how the car is right now :D

Have you decided on a gauge set yet? Revlimiter is tempting me so hard but I like the stock gauges (in mine, anyway).
I like the wheels you have now but if you're switching to rpf1's for weight savings I guess it makes sense. They still look pretty good too.

Have you got butterfly brace yet? Also, regarding that starter; It was most likely the solenoid that makes the starters gear connect to the flywheel..

I really like the wheels I have now, don't get me wrong, but I'd like a lower offset and of course, something lighter. I'll probably get a wheel & tire combo off good win racing. That would happen for a while though, I don't "need" new wheel lol. I do plan on swapping out my gauges, as well as the HVAC panel. I really like the stirling style, in the amber lighting

No I haven't, I'd like to though. I got a new starter installed when the old one acted up on me.

Also, from what I've heard, the `800 investment on hardtop is a good one in regards of adding stiffness.. Not to mention that it makes the car quite a bit harder to steal!

Good to know, how ever it's hard to find a hardtop under $1000 dollars over here, in fact I have never seen one under $1000. I've thought about getting one, but I don't have A/C, so in the summer it would suck. Even in the colder parts of the year, I put my top down whenever I can.

@carracerptp thanks! I'm really happy with the car right now, looks and handles awesome.

Auto cross was a blast too, gonna try and do a couple more events soon.

I've been looking for a hardtop in Texas, just to see what pricing would be like, and they come up so rarely... They've all been $1000-$1400.
