Linkin Park: MeteoraMusic

Do you guys know anything about Linkin Park at all?

Joe Hahn is one of the best DJ's a band has to offer.

The Rap/Rock that you so disgustingly put it, is not s*itty, Mike Shinoda happens to be a great rapper/emcee, i'd like to see you try better. I wouldn't want to hear Chester's voice on the whole album, i would go mad.

Figure. 09 sounds nothing like One Step Closer, maybe you should try listening to the songs again, and then make your judgement. They are 2 compleatly different songs.

They started writing Meteora while they were on the Ozzfest tour in 2002, and yes they did bring out Reanimation, but that was so that the fans wouldn't loose interest.

If your song changes daily, how can you be a real fan?

I suggest that if your going slag off a band, at least know your facts first.

ok retard first of all I never said anything about Joe Hahn all I said was that I didn't like that ONE song and you blew it all out of proprotion. Yes I agree that he is great but that specific song didn't appeal to me

As for the S*itty comment I was talking once again about that ONE track. I happen to dislike Rap mostly for the lyrics wich I find stupid. The beats however are great thats why I like linkin park so much because they mix in the beats and the rap with alternative music making a unique blend of music wich is great. ONCE again i didn't like that ONE track. I still listened to the rest of the CD over and over. Just because I dislike one track dosen't mean I think the artists are s*itty or that they're cd sucks.

As for Chester I love hearing his voice just as much as the others. you criticize me for supposedly disliking Joe Hahn what about you not liking Chester? you are accusing me of doing what you yourself are doing with Chester so stop being a hypocrite.

Then you ask me that if my favorite song changes how can I be a real fan? EASY moron I am a fan of the band and each song has it's own unique characteristics that makes it appealing to me depending on how I'm feeling that day, So yes I can still be a fan and like different songs. If I wasn't a fan then why the hell would I go to their concerts and join LPUNDERGROUND?

Also :odd: when the HELL did I EVER "slag off the band" I NEVER "slagged off the band" I started this thread because I love the band and wanted other peoples comments. All I did was say I didn't like one song and you claim that I hate the entire band.

The ONE thing I do agree about your statement is that Figure. 09 and One Step Closer are two different songs.

the comment about writing the Meteora during Ozzfest 2002 is true because It's one of the questions answered by the band members in LP's message board.

SO WHY DON'T YOU GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT BEFORE YOU START OPENING YOU BIG MOUTH.

I don't really see why people have to bash each other on their views on music. Haven't you ever noticed that not all people think alike? People like that really disgust me.

Anyway, back to the topic... I love "Nobody's Listening" (11) "Session" (12) and "Numb" (13). But i generally like all the songs. I enjoy how much Linkin Park pays great detail to their art on the album and in their music. And MeteoraTheory, i believe you are a hypocrite. Just because fan don't meet a certain criteria (which doesn't exsist ever, mind you), doesn't make them bad people. Pssh.

The "Gundam" thing that I'm talking about are the toys that are shown throughout the video Somewhere I Belong
 
That was just plain Bizzare......

Personally I perfer Rock over Rap....ACDC, RATM, Tool, Audioslave, Guns and Roses....etc.....etc

But to completely contradict myself.....i loved Hybrid Theory.....it was really cool.....I was going to get Meteora but i only had $30 (which equals only ONE CD!!!) and had to go with Audioslave......which I do truly enjoy....

Now don't get me wrong, i like LP, i have all the albums (Hybrid Theory, Reanimation and Meteora) I've seen them both in London and Manchester....but I'm sorry Meteora is just not up to the same standard as Theory.

The anger / fustration / passion has gone. The whole album is over engineered. They spent far too much time in production. It sounds too "perfect" to me.

Kids (sorry feeling my age over here) are supposed to be raw and energetic, full of passion and conviction.

Having said that on my cycle in to work this morning i listened to Hybrid Theory twice (it's 18 miles) LP rock, but lose the polish guys!

My favorites are "Breaking the Habit", "Faint", "Numb", and "Nobody's Listening".

sorry but i Get kinda pissed when I think people are talking $hit about me... The reason I thought they were pointed towards me was because many of my coments were in your post. but don't worry about it.
 
I've found that on every LP track to date that I have liked 'em all. For the exception of one on Reanimation. I hated High Voltage.
 
it seems that mostly everybody has atleast one track they dont like...not bad considering that most CD's only have 1 track that people actually LIKE...
 
I honestly don't know if I want to get their new CD or not. I got "Hybrid Theory" for my 15th birthday a year and a half ago, and I liked it a lot. I also like how they don't (or they could now...I dunno) use unecessary language when it really isn't needed. But the downside is, is that I only felt like listening to them when I was mad or upset, and too much screaming gives me a headache. Plus with all do respect, Chester Pennington sounds like he needs a cough drop...heheh, sorry...Mike Shinoda can rap good, though.

Music that rocks my world: Creed and U2 :D
 
Ok I've listened to the new album a few times now and here's what I think ....

It Rocks!!
Not as good as Hybrid Theory but it would take a lot to better a first album such as that .

Tracks that stick out for me are ...

Hit the floor
Easier to Run
Faint ( that's my favourite ATM, y'know the one you turn up full blast! ) :cool:
Breaking the habit ( I didn't think much of it at first but it kinda grows on you)
Nobody's listening
Somewhere I belong
Don't stay

That's nearly all the album, I'm sure I'll like the other tracks just as much when I've had a few more listens. :D

These guys are good at what they do, no doubt about that 👍

More Linkin Park !

And you guys don't need to argue about trivial things such as who prefers what :rolleyes:
 
This cd rocks! Although one thing has pissed me off cuz of this cd; the damn cd wont play at all in my cd changer(not a car cd changer) and it seems to have a problem playing on one of my regular cd players. Right now I'm listenin to it on my computer. Seems to be the only thing that'll play it right. :mad:

I would but I got around the problem. I just ripped the songs to my hd and then burned the songs onto a blank cd so it was just the songs and not that added stuff on the original cd. Plays just fine now. :D

It plays in my portable CD player, my car, and my computer. I also have it on my Xbox hard disk. ;)

I bought the special edition one that came with the DVD. The DVD is around 30 mins talking about how the CD was made. It was very cool, you were taken to Mike Shindoa's house in the DVD and watched them record some stuff. It gave you a breakdown of everysong and how they came about. Very good DVD. :)

I'll give it a 9.

Hybird Theory was better than this album IMO, and also the music in Meteora isn't just 'hard' enough like in Hybrid Theory (IMO) BTW I like the songs 'Faint' , 'Numb' and a few more which I can't remember. :D
