Can confirm - it appears that the default livery for the 962 in Forza 4 is the Repsol one. 💡 EDIT: Weirdly in FM4 it appears that the HB logo appears in the Quattro.
Pretty sure it had something to do with DLC being unrated or whatever, so they could add in tobacco/alcohol liveries without having to go through the ESRB/regional equivalent.Thought the 962 was Rothmans.
Edit: Yep, its Rothmans. That Repsol livery was fanmade (hence, its not a default).
Now I don't know how Forza 4 managed to get a Tobacco Sponsored car when damn near every developer doesn't (even the official F1 games, including the ones with the classic F1 cars don't have Tobacco Sponsorship), but whatever. Somehow they did and no one else has.
I agree, most of cars have an GT logo on most of blanks. But users have the option to not log in if they want to block UGC.
I believe the blocked livery on the Jag is used often in real life too at special events where they want to keep it G rated, but I may have mistaken certain GT pics for real life.

Yes, there is some of licensing issues, for example, the DTM, Dekra, 24h Le Mans...These are more of series licensing issues.

But this car has an different livery and different front lights.A quick Google confirms that at least one XJR-9, chassis J12-C-688, has been run with a censored livery in real life.
Camaro SS '69 (Look here for a picture of the GT6 Camaro SS '69:http://www.kudosprime.com/gt6/car_sheet.php?id=1031)
...
It should also have the grille painted black instead of grey, like above.

Chevrolet Camaro Z28 '69
Incorrectly modeled with a blacked out tail panel.

V8 Supercars in Abu Dhabi is interesting to see the alternate liveries. I've noticed that Japan mainly has car parts sponsorship on touring cars, America has food and Australia has alcohol. It would depend on where the race was being held. Some countries banned alcohol and/or tobacco advertising, others did not.

Gillet Vertigo Race Car '04
Absurd specifications. In-game: 897 HP and 780 kg. Real life: 420 HP and 1100 kg. Also apparently has an incorrect livery. Also has either an incorrect livery or an extremely obscure one.
Lister Storm V12 Race Car '99
Weighs 1438 kg in game while it only weighs 1100 kg in real life. It also has an "incomplete" paint job.

As it was added in GT3 with the Lancer VII WRC (we need it back!) and Impreza GC WRC which also lacked racing numbers, I always assumed they were modeled before the cars were ready to race. (I think they both lacked some sponsors too.) I think that's what you meant by press car. Perhaps they should be marked "prototype"Lister Storm V12 Race Car '99:
It appears to be a modeled press car (with Prestige substituted with Polyphony as a way to deal with licensing)
I don't see how Mini is considered German but Seat is considered Spanish.
Minis being counted as German makes no sense to me, they are owned by a German company but loads of other manufacturers are owned by other manufacturers from other countries. I think that's what you mean mustafur.
And It isn't Mini Cooper 1.3! Is Rover Mini 1.3i. The old Mini's before 2000 are not considered as Mini Coopers, but just Mini's.the Mini Cooper 1.3i is wrong as well. Since it's British and not German.
