Whenever I quit LBP, it instantly accesses the HDD, spacks out and reboots the PS3. Every time, regardless of what Sackboy/girl and the HDD are actually doing.
Mine does it about once every five times, also about once a month with Folding@Home and it did it once with Bioshock. No data has been corrupted and I am actually anal about checking that it is not accessing the hard drive.

I generally don't pay attention to the yellow access light, and despite all the warnings when a game is loading, I also don't pay too close attention to whatever icon a game uses to let me know it is recording data to the hard drive... even when I quit a game or turn it off. :nervous:

Then again, I also can count on just one hand all the times over the last two years since I got it that my PS3 has rebooted after I quit a game... but after what happened to my son's game save, I immediately made backup copies of not just my games saves, but also my wife's and kids' as well.

So i bought the MGS DLC for LBP and i wonder if someone has some time to help me get some trophies for this. Just name it when u have some time:)

:)

What's it called and can I play it? :D

The easiest way to find it is to just search my PSN ID (tha_con). It's called Donkey God, I believe, lol.

I had done all this really hard work on a level for about a week straight, but it just fell apart near the end, pieces wouldn't stay put, everything was moving for some reason, and any time I tried to detach one thing, it would just fall apart into absolute chaos, so I finally just gave up :(

The end result is Donkey God...a ridiculous level with no purpose. And a puking chimera.

Just by chance last night I stumbled a cross a Gran Turismo level. I hadn’t even thought of a level like that yet. I then searched the name and many GT levels popped up. Some are awful but we as fans are obligated to play them anyway right?

I made some good progress on my level last night. I feel like PD when it comes to completing it. I could tell you when it will be done, but then I would have to miss that date. So, just like GT5 it will be done when it will be done.

No. I quit checking them out when I got one that had motorcycles choppers.

It would be great if you could post the names and authors of the GT levels you liked in the following thread:

Sack It to Me: “Back into the DLC Swing” Edition
Posted by Mark Valledor // Marketing Manager, SCEA

Greetings LBP friends. If you have been keeping up with the internets or our Blog you should know that SackBoy has been seen puttering around all over these days. Whether he’s in England winning awards for Media Molecule at the BAFTA or swinging clubs in other games, you’ll never know when you are going to see him next. Now we know its been all quiet on the DLC front lately, but since all good things come to those who wait, here are the details on where SackBoy is going to be next!

Monkey King Costume: FREE (available permanently) This costume based on the Monkey King story is a winning design from our LBP community in Asia. Now we can all be winners with a free new costume!

Looks like Nariko got her sword back.

LOL!!

I keep trying to make the mouth on the Chimera invisible, but it STILL shows up...I don't know why it won't correctly save the properties, will have to try to work with it some more.

I'm still trying to make some tweaks, and add in some new hidden areas. I'm a huge fan of hidden areas and secrets and stuff, lol.

To the drawing board I go! Thanks for playing guys :)

Hnngh! I'm just a gold away from platinum!

I presume when it says you need 50 hearts on your levels that's cumulative, and that you need 30 hearts personally that's you as a creator and as a player rather than your levels?

Correct. That's why I made a few small levels that had popular themes. You need 50 over all your levels and 30 personally. Get into the community part, leaving comments, playing with strangers (just don't take their candy), and that sort of thing helps. I even started making some comments in the LittleBigWorkshop forums. They even have a place to post your level and dedicated forum members that will play and review them.

Speaking of, I played your level and hearted it last night. I even left you a couple of comments.

I spotted that :D Thanks :D

I love the music levels and I’ve hearted everyone that I have played just because of what it must take to make one. I’ve played ones such as Linkin Park, Metallica, the Fray and Guns-N-Roses.

My son learned the hard way not to quit a game or turn off the PS3 while it is recording or accessing data on the hard drive (as indicated by the flashing yellow light). While he was very disappointed to have lost all his LBP characters that he had created and saved, he is having fun going back and playing the story levels again to earn back the necessary stickers and costume items again.

On thing though... I'm very surprised there is no way of skipping past the introduction level. :odd:

They also don't advertise a way to skip past the forced explanations and dialogue as you progress through the first three stories... but my son discovered a clever way of skipping past it by simply pressing the start button and choosing any of the options. Doing so immediately skipped over the narrative and allowed him to go on playing without having to wait for the narration to stop. 👍

So we have all been helping our son get back all his lost costume items, stickers, objects, etc... but this also led to another disappointing discovery.

Because he had to start a new game, it also forces him to have to go through some of the Create Tutorials all over again just to have access to the Goodies Bag. :grumpy:

And in order to get back all of his stickers and objects, he also will have to go through every Create Tutorial all over again. :ouch:

Another gripe that came up due to all of this is that apparently he had gotten so many community stickers and objects that he got a pop-up warning that his profile was too large and that he could not add any things to it. Looking at his sticker menu and (after doing the necessary create tutorial sections) his Goodies Bag, he had what appeared to be a few hundred objects and stickers from playing so many community levels.

I wanted to delete them all, but I was surprised to see there was no "Delete All" option, and instead had to delete them one at a time. :ouch:

On a positive note, and yet another example of thinking I knew just about everything there is about LBP... I just discovered today while watching my nephews play LBP, that when you use the skillet costume item and you slap another sackboy with the skillet... it makes a very distinctive metal sound! :D

I really love it when developers add these seemingly little details into their games. 👍

LittleRainbowIslandsPlanet is fixed! Yay!

I'm also making another level which is a race of sorts. It's a very simple idea, so hopefully I can get it licked inside the day :D

Dare to say LBP platinum:D. Finally after days of frustrations, it finally paid off. I wish i could only find that cool platinum avater that D-N used to have.

LBP at GDC

Next week (3/25-3/27) the Game Developers ConferenceGDC and LBP are partnering up for a great show. It was two years ago @ GDC when we announced LittleBigPlanet to the world. And since the theme of the SCEA booth this year is “Opportunity and Community,” we plan to dedicate two PS3 Kiosks to LittleBigPlanet.

The first Kiosk will be a “GDC CREATE jam-session,” an open area to showcase the “CREATE” talents of the GDC attendees. LBP fans, game developers and aspiring industry professionals can get together and create an LBP level. We are excited to see what happens when so many creative industry folks drop by and contribute. When the level is done and polished, we will post levels from each day for users at home to download and play.

The second Kiosk is reserved for very unique presentations - “Level by…me,” which will showcase a LittleBigPlanet level creator. During the day, they will discuss their personal game design technique and experiences as an aspiring developer. If you’re around, drop by (schedule below).

  • Topic 1 – Getting Started
    Presenter: Chris Yeoh (PSN: Yeohman)
    • You’ve got a story in your head – and you want to share it with other LittleBigPlanet creators and players. Learn how one novice level creator translated his inspiration into gameplay in LBP.
      • Wednesday, March 25 – 2:30-3:30
      • Thursday, March 26 – 11:30-12:30

  • Topic 2 – Creative Infusion
    Presenter: Isaac Epp (PSN: Jutaro)
    • LittleBigPlanet is full of tools and gadgets that inspire the imagination and help creators up the creativity quotient in their levels - see how this level developer takes a creative approach to designing compelling levels.
      • Wednesday, March 25 – 11:30-12:30
      • Thursday, March 26 – 1:00-2:00
      • Friday, March 27 – 1:00-2:00

  • Topic 3 – Technical Tips
    Presenter: Charles Cheung (PSN: Snowflakecat)
    • The technical capabilities of the design tools in LittleBigPlanet can be used in a virtually limitless number of ways and shared across the community. Hear how this level creator leverages those capabilities to enable more dynamic and challenging playing experiences.
      • Wednesday, March 25 – 1:00-2:00
      • Thursday, March 26 – 2:30-3:30
      • Friday, March 27 – 11:30-12:30

Mm Podcast

Listen to Media Molecule cofounder and creative director Mark Healy as he talks about LBP design decisions, the recent BAFTA Awards, and some of their favorite LBP community levels!

CROWNED!!!

Speaking of Podcasts, we’ve noticed these LBP fans started posting fun review podcasts.
Now that they’ve reached their 12th episode, more and more people in the office have subscribed and enjoyed. So, for being super supportive of the game from the start, we’ve decided to give them some LBP “Crownage.” Check out some of their episodes and the levels they feature - one of them might be yours! To Daniel and Austin, we appreciate the support. Keep the episodes coming and be sure to check your inbox.

More Accolades

And over on LittleBigWorkshop, we wanted to start recognize a handful of contributors that have been extremely influential within the LBP community with video workshop submissions that both show off creativity and share their level building techniques.

Appie - GTP_Famine, Little Rainbow Islands Planet, whenever :D

I played it, and could it be harder than this?!?!? I was dying all the time and the level so unpredictable. But i must say that it's very good and i hearted it:)👍

I tried to make it just about as hard as, say, The Mines, but not quite as hard as The Collector's Lair and The Bunker :D
