I would love livery editor in GT5.
But, unlike Forza 2, it would be great to create liveries in race cars too. The reason its simple: remember, for example, the Audi A4 DTM Red Bull in GT4? If you could create liveries in race cars it would be possible to replicate all the other DTM championship Audis. Or if you have a V8 supercar championship Ford Falcon you could create all the others. Same goes for Holden Commodore. With just 2 cars it would be possible to replicate all the V8 championship cars.
I suck at painting but theres a lot of people out there who make wonderful liveries and i would buy it.
Two very excellent posts. I'd mentioned a few times how nice it would be if GT5 had a serious race mod system which would produce everything from a standard but beefed up chassis like a super tuner car, all the way to body widening for DTM and Super GT racing. An alternative would be to give us unpainted race cars we could apply our liveries to. Personally, I'd like to have both, so that we could create our own tuner cars, and the wide bodied blank race cars. This would give Polyphony the opportunity to put the "50 Skylines" argument down, give us a great selection of liveries, but allow us to create as many race and tuner cars as we want, and each one with our own unique identities.I think a race modification could come with say three options, two variants on a race livery and a virgin carbon fibre one!
I'm not sure what you're saying. Being able to skin your suit to match your car... how is that a licensing issue? Besides, this could be accomplished simply with a few templates with color choices. I doubt it delayed any game very much.Though some people don't want to change the aspect of GT and somehow that is alot of licensing issue unless you are willingly to wait a long time for it.
though I would like to use the suit more than just to view it from a replay. For example. Forza's ability to look left and right with the right thumbstick. You are able to see the Driver or at least the what is inside.( well no driver at all...)I'm not sure what you're saying. Some of us have been asking for this, since not everyone is an artist or knows what to do with a vinyl pattern. Another option would be to include templates which you can color and apply effects like fading and decals to, so everyone can have a good looking custom livery that identifies them uniquely. And then of course, the artists you can pay with game credits to create one for you.I would love a livery editor as long as there are a fair share of premade company liveries.

I see no need for a livery editor.
Besides, if one is only going to be included because Forza has one, Gran Turismo will lose some of its integrity. Added features shouldn't be included as knee-jerk reactions to other franchises. If anything, those franchises should be the ones copying GT.
Exactly my thoughts. 👍I see no need for a livery editor.
