Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel

How is that possible to change?
From the bottom of the tube to the top. Try the stiffer (brown topped) small foam, the brown elastomer and the yellow elastomer. I run with 30 to 35 of brake force. I find that's quite a progressive feel.

It should be very difficult to feel actual steps in the elastomers - if there's any feeling if vibration or rubbing then applying a bit more of the supplied grease is recommended. Short of making all the elastomers the same, there's no way of making it a 100% linear feel. A linear feel is definitely counter-intuitive to what you feel in a brake pedal normally which is why we don't provide multiples of the same elastomer in the box. The closest you can get to achieving it is to make sure that the two long elastomers are closest to each other in terms of their hardness - beige with yellow, yellow with red, or red with brown.

For the second part of your question, I assume you mean in terms of the axis output rather than the physical feel? If you're on console then you could partially achieve this is if a game has the ability to adjust the saturation - this is not the best way of doing things though. On PC you can put the wheel in G HUB mode and then use the sensitivity slider in G HUB - setting it below 50 would achieve what you're looking for by applying a curve to the axis output, making it less sensitive at the start of the braking, becoming more sensitive as you reach higher axis output. Alternatively, increasing the brake force setting can also achieve this, simply by widening the scale of axis output based on the force applied.

Has anyone found replacement springs that fit the pedal set? I would like something a bit stronger. If not, is their any way to purchase another set from Logitech so I can use the Brown spring in both the clutch and throttle?

Interested in this also. Would like a spring even harder than brown for the clutch. I'm ok with red for the throttle.

Yea the clutch is really not strong enough for me at all, I’m not looking for perfect lap times, I’m just looking for it to be realistic to like a stage 4 clutch.

I did find some brake elastomer upgrades on eBay that I’m gonna try out.

PS5

Have you tried it on G923 compatibility mode? If not, set it to that and then you’ll know what I’m talking about, I swear it gets 3x stronger.
You are right. Strength becomes insane, but Trueforce was then not present in the wheel's menu.

Do you think that in G923 compatibility mode that I might have to adjust TF in G Hub?

You don’t need to - just adjust the Vibration setting in GT7. You’re still going to have to deal with the crazy oscillations around centre though and I’m very certain that the FFB is clipping - you lose all detail when you load into a corner.

I wish I knew someone close that I could test their’s or they could test mine. I swear on pro mode even turned up to maximum the torque is non existent, I’ve been running G923 mode on 8nm with like 40 damper.

I’ll check my settings tonight, but I have it real high. I love fighting with it honestly, it just makes it entertaining. The key to fighting the oscillations at center is to just slightly move side to side, as silly as that sounds. I turned the damper up and made that go away quite a bit, then if you hold the wheel a certain way at center all the oscillation vibrations just go into the rig vs the wheel.

Yeah as long as you engage the steering slightly then it does solve the oscillations. That brings back memories of when we were developing the Pro Wheel and testing it in GT Sport; having to do exactly that in order to avoid the oscillations :-)

100%, but I also upgraded from a G923 and spent almost $1500 on this to get the 11nm that I paid for. If I would have stumbled on this thread before buying, I would not have dropped that kind of money until the training wheels were removed.

I don’t even really play any other games. GT7 with VR2 is the only reason I even got the PS5. Been driving sports cars for years and this fills that hole in my heart now that I am so busy with work and kids. The only reason I didn’t go for the 20nm Fanatech was the TrueForce.

This is no knock on Logitech and I went all in with the platform. But what PD did by throttling these down is absolutely ridiculous.
Hi, Nice setup. How do the fans on your rig operate? Is the windspeed from the fans somehow influenced by your drive speed of do they operate on a static speed?

We are somewhat in the same boat. The only reason i have the PS5, GT7, PSVR2, Playseat Tropy and the Logitech G Pro Wheel and pedals is that I have very limited time to play. With three young kids and work that needs to be done i want setup that just works. And for the most part the setup preforms fantastic! I am really happy with the wheel and playseat.

So if the fans add some extra immersion I am curious to learn how they work.

The fans were an idea I had when I first started doing it and was getting a little bit of VR sickness. They aren’t tied into the system and speed based at all, even though that would be friggin cool…….. But they actually surprisingly add to the immersion, they give a little bit of illusion of motion and there is no goin back for me now.

Man how cool would that be though if someone came out with a speed dependent setup…. Would never exist on console but it’s something that could be done on PC.

It took me a while to find a fan that would just kinda bolt straight onto the rig, and these happen to be the same color and almost look like they were made for it.

I hooked mine up to a cheap windows pc running simhub and that allows me to have wind simulation and seat vibration triggered by the in game telemetry. Really adds to the immersion and helps alleviate motion sickness when friends try it for the first time 😎

Of course that already exists haha, thats super cool. I would love to do a PC but im in the same boat. No time with kids and job and no special space for it to be setup.

Go load up Project Cars 2 and crank stuff up if you like fighting center oscillations. Haha. I’m trying to get rid of it. Haha

Has there been any chatter at all of a pro shifter? Patiently waiting.. I would have bought the toy shifter if I could find the G adapter for sale somewhere.

Logitech will go as far as to confirm they are working on "things".

We can only guess at what these "things" are that are being worked on, as they will not confirm or deny anything about products before release.
We can only hope that whatever these "things" are will be "things" that we are interested in, like a Pro shifter.
On top of that hope, we can only hope that if the "things" being worked on do include a shifter, that the shifter will make it to the market at all, as it's only being "worked on" currently, so no guarantees.
Finally, we can only guess at when that thing that might be a shifter might randomly turn up for sale, as there is to be no news about any "thing" until said "thing" is released.

:)

Yeah I might consider a shifter if they released one. I’m tempted to get a the expensive cheapo one just so I can have a clutch in GT7 but I think the second you use the paddles the clutch becomes unusable.

Clutch is not a neutral switch, a clutch simply disengages the transmission and removes power from the wheels. Apparently it works this way with a shifter hooked up, but I’ve had people confidently reply about other questions, and I’ve done a little more research and found they don’t really know. Maybe the cheapo shifter will go on sale and I can drop $30 to find out if once a shifter is hooked up that the clutch doesn’t just kick you into neutral making you have to shift to get back in gear. Haha

I started messing with the clutch pedal and it 10,000% needs a stronger spring then brown. Wish I knew what could fit in it

I’m running the G923 pedals, I’m happy with them. Part of me just doesn’t want to spend the money on the pro pedals and have to get used of them all over again. Plus I’d have to drill new holes on my pedal board on my rig to accommodate the pro pedals. If they were cheaper, like $250 Canadian, I’d buy them.

But I’d really just like to able to push the clutch in on GT7 and let it out without having to select a gear. You can do that in project cars 2, their clutch works just like a clutch in real life and you don’t need to buy a shifter to unlock the clutch’s realism. Lol. But then again, Project Cars 2 isn’t “the real driving simulator” so maybe that’s why their clutch works that way 🙃 as it should.

Here's more video samples, in this test, GT7, force feedback 7(game), 11(wheel), Trueforce 0(wheel), vibrations 0(game).
I'm driving the car on a straight, waving left to right.

1. test = hands resting on the wheel = creaking / clicking noises

2. test = hands pushing upwards = almost silent

Although I first suspected the quick release mechanism to be the culprit I definitely ruled out that possibility by using pliers to rotate the wheel at the hub as mentioned in an earlier post. Also the QR is firmly pushed as far as it can go and the rig itself is a full metal construction. The creaks and clicks come from the wheel, somewhere from the hub assembly, it's very hard to pinpoint the source.

This is exactly what my wheel is doing now. I'm getting play left and right when applying horizontal force. I suspect something worked itself loose inside of the wheel.

Exactly what I did, but added the VR2..This wheel and VR = Heaven.
I will be using VR as well. It’s the best sim racing experience in VR by far IMO.

Wheel showed up 🤗 Pedals should arrive tomorrow and then I can start my build.

I gave up GT7 about year ago after making the switch to PC but I’ve still had the itch to get back into it. Ended up ordering the G Pro wheel and will be building a 2nd rig exclusively for GT7 - super excited 🤘
That is what I did with my old 80/20 rig after I bought a new one. I atached wheels to it and I can roll it over and use the G Pro wheel on my PS5. Now if Logitech would just make a Xbox wheel only available for my PS5 base I would have the best of both worlds and I could get rid of my Fanatec Xbox setup.
