Ordered today, looking forward to testing and finding a good set-up.

My final setup: Clutch - Using the stock G25 Brake Spring - Stiffer than stock, best simulates that smooth throw on a real clutch. Using this spring leaves you with the full throw of the clutch and increased pressure.
Thanks for your tips NiZM069.

Nixim today confirmed, shipping of new orders are running on schedule...

Just checking in to see how the orders are going. I ordered on the fifth and was seeing if anyone had received their orders.

My Nixim mod arrived yesterday and I installed them today. All I can say is... Wow.
I actually like the clutch spring. But as said in the ISR review you actually have to push the brake with you leg, not just your ankle, so it only makes sense that you should do something similar with the clutch. Clutch feels nice and way softer than what you would find in an unsprung 6-puck ceramic race clutch in a real car.
Have to say huge thanks to Nixim, not only for making a very quality product and selling it for an amazing price but also very quick shipping. They had to send it all the way across the big pond (Atlantic) and somehow still got it here in 3 weeks with the back orders. The fact that they can build and ship these worldwide for that price is amazing. Will buy from again. :-D

Hello everyone, my Nixim arrived yesterday (overall takes 8 days to ship from UK to Hong Kong). I am very satisfy with the product. I have one question for the current users though, does it matter which way the spring are installed? Should the closer coil end on the bottom or it should be vice versa? Any recommendations/comments will be appreciated. Thanks.

hi i ask Dave before. He said anyway will do no difference. I put the thicker tighter side at bottom. Enjoy and u will need to excercise leg muscle more liao when pressing brake n clutch heee. But will be seasoned soon

This sounds great! Just ordered my G27 yesterday and was thinking of saving for prefect pedal but I will for sure go with this instead.

Ordered, will update with expected delivery time when I receive that info.

Oops, excuse the double post.

Hi Guys,
one more thing i like to share. WHen i installed the mod and i started playing. I usually do heel toe gear shifting. It was quite hard to get use pressing the brake... Then after trying for 2 hours, my big toe skin got abrasion!... Then i rememeber seeing youtube many guy wear socks and shoes when using wheel set(which I find overkill). Nonetheless I give it a try in order to continue playing and boy... I never play without them since then. After u use nixim mod and you wear thin sole shoes to play, the experience is really realistic and rewarding for me!

Do give it a try. Just one try. See if you all like it. Looks silly..but it really make sense suddenly..

I just had an interesting thought. I read on the forums somewhere that the g25/27 pedals need to be depressed fully once when you start playing GT5 for the full travel to be recognised by the game, and its something that i seem to have noticed too since reading it.

I would like to ask does the above needs to be done for playing GT5 on PS3? I have to engage full travel when the wheel is self-calibrating before the game starts? Thx

I received my NIXIM mod v2 about a week ago but didn't get it installed until earlier today. Installation was pretty simple, I followed the SRT video as a guide. Once I started removing screws it took about 20 mins before I had the set back on my wheelstandpro and was ready to go. At this point, I have only installed the brake mod and left the clutch and gas alone.

So as some may know, I've only had my G27 3 or so weeks after stepping up from the DFP. The pedals were an instant upgrade over the DFP so I was unsure if I need even more brake but at the price these are going for I decided to give them a shot. So far, I am very happy with the mod. There is a definite feel to go off of when braking. To get about 75% or more of braking you really have to use your whole leg to push the brake in. You can really feel the brake spring "load" or get stiffer as it is pressed further. My braking seemed much more consistent (it was already a ton better by just switching to the G27) and I never over braked which has been somewhat of a problem in the past for me. I'm looking forward to trying it out some more but so far it feels like I will be able to use muscle memorization a lot more for braking rather than hoping the pedal has traveled the correct distance. Definite thumbs up from me.

I have them installed and they are worth the money. Feels so much better.

Like the video said "Your pedals will have to be hard mounted for this"

I wanted to ask anyone if they read this if they can post the direction they mounted the brake spring and if any differences can be noted. I just received my nixim mod v2 and am dying to install them but i would like to get a consensus before I put them in.

Thanks.

I should of taken a picture, but yes you will notice if they are in the wrong one. also if you put them in the right one (brake for brake, clutch for clutch) you still have to make sure they are not flipped upside down. The spring should just fall right in place, if you close everything up and try it out and it is making a metal on metal noise then flip the spring.

Im sorry I should have been a little more clear. I was referring to the tighter coils towards the top or the tighter coils towards the bottom

I don't remember which coils were where, but the end that had the core was down for me. Someone posted a while back that they asked NIXIM which side goes down and NIXIM replied it didn't matter. Just chuck it in there and if you don't like the way it feels then reverse it.

So. What is there to know about using this? Anyone using iRacing with this? Anxious for it to arrive. Wanted to try it out before the Daytona 2.4 hour....How is it holding up? Is it too stiff? Anyone using i with a rubber mat underneath the pedals on a wood floor?

Genreally how long till delivery. Im on the east coast. Should be here by now...

I've been looking into this for a while now, the only thing holding me back is the lack of a permanent rig/setup. I'm just curious to know how many of you did this with a new wheel voiding it's warranty. How much warranty was left? Did you wait? Did you mod it straight away?

You can swap out the springs without even removing the pedals from the case so there would really be no warranty voiding. I pretty much did it right away since the pedals felt too soft for me.

I ordered my set on Feb. 26 and they came today!:dopey: I can't believe they got here so quick. I was expecting at least a month.

Going to get these bad boys installed later tonight and give them a go on iRacing.👍

I ordered mine 3 days ago and am waiting for them to arrive. Can't wait.

@Plate.

Let me know how the installation goes.....and congrats.

Installation is very easy. Just go to the Nixim site. They have the SRT video and a picture/caption guide. Just be careful with the wires when separating the two halves of the pedal base. Also be careful not to pinch any wiring on reassembly.

Review after a few hours on iRacing:

Brake spring - Love it. Really does give you a feeling of car brake with shorter throw. At about half throw it really stiffens up. Initial braking is similar to the stock spring till about half throw. Then it stiffens up on the tighter coils and the rubber piece. There is maybe 3 or 4mm of travel once it hits this point. Because of this it is much easier to brake with confidence against the stock spring. Light braking is improved along with hard braking. Instead of your mind calculating the distance your foot has pushed on the brake, you're now feeling the pressure on your foot to brake.

I didn't change anything in my brake curve on iRacing. Just recalibrated the pedals. The brake won't bottom out anymore when calibrating. I just pressed as far down as possible, which is maybe 2/3 of actual travel if I'm lucky. Also placed the spring with the rubber near bottom or base of pedal set.

Clutch spring - Didn't really like it. Very stiff for one. There is some modulation in there, but its kind of hard to feel. Its not terrible, just not my cup of tea.

I did place the old/stock clutch spring in the accelerator, but it was a bit too stiff for me. So right now, I have stock clutch and accelerator springs in with the Nixim brake spring. Need more time with it to play around with settings, but initial thoughts are good for the brake. Seems people's settings with the brake vary wildly with this mod in iRacing. Some run 0 brake curve and others up near a 4 setting. I have mine set at 2 and seems to feel pretty good for me. Just personal preference really.

This really is a "no-brainer" mod for G25/27 owners. Especially if anyone plays iRacing. Braking is definitely one of the biggest deciding factors in iRacing. Very good and cheap alternative to get some good feeling in the brake pedal:tup:

The correct answer is Perfect Pedal. :P

I agree, but don't agree with the $250 price tag. I had thought about it, but I figured I'd try the cheaper alternative for now.👍

Greeze, had both perfect pedal and CSP but he recently sold his Perfect Pedal.
Maybe he has fancier pedals in mind or just preferred the CSP?

The $250 is a bit crazy price though for sure.
This mod is excellent value in comparison.

Sold the Perfect Pedal as I rate the CSP's better overall. I am keeping an eye on Derek Speare's upcoming pedal-set though! :)

I too just installed the nixim spring and it is a huge leap for me. Feels like the pedal should.

Was wondering on trimming the rubber. Now feels like when I naturally put my foot to what I think is full brake its actually 80% and if I want full brake I gotta really jam it. It's good and thinking thats kinda what i want, but should I take a bit off to make my normal movement hit 100%?

Anyone trim it? I could probably find more rubber and try a few.

I fitted the original Mod in my G25 brake. It was awesome made it so much more like driving a real car. Im 38 and have been driving since I was 17 so ive driven a few.
I might be tempted to upgrade to this new mod.

As some one asked about the pedals having to go all the way down. The brake pedal is anologue so the harder you press the more it brakes. With the original mod it was brilliant. Use the brake like a normal car and you dont over brake and lock up every corner. You wanna brake hard you stamp and compress the mod. Feels very realistic.

The clutch pedal does have to be all the way down in my experience. I never got on with it. I was hoping In GT5 there would be a "band setting" for when the clutch actually operates but no (so far as I know upto press, Ive been away a year and have recently come back B-Specin') For me the Original G25 pedal was too hard for a clutch too so I wouldnt want it harder or even progressive. I think Id choose which was best for the brake and keep the other spare.

For NjLowrider I wouldnt trim the mod unless your finding it hard to brake properly. Some younger people dont have the power to push the brake through the mod. We did trim one for a friends son. Instead of trimming the length though we trimmed the thickness. Kept the width so it stayed in the spring but trimmed the thickness so it wasnt as "Strong". Take it easy though you dont wanna go too far. Oh and be carefull you need a sharp "stanley" blade (box cutter in the USA?). The "rubber" substance is quite difficult to cut on the edge we trimmed and holding and cutting that way wasnt what id call easy.
