Considering buying this for Gran Turismo 6 on the PS3, but i see no wheel settings for G29 in the options menu of Gt6. Has anyone tried this wheel on Gran Turismo 6 on the Ps3, just curious since there is no wheel settings for the G29 (only the G25 & G27 ) in the options section of Gran Turismo 6.

It's largely recognised as a DFGT when in PS3 mode.

And that's why PD should have patched GT6 to have G29 full support just like they did in the last year with the T300 Rs.

Well im holding on for a while to see wat comes out of this the G29, as u said it really should of already been patched into Gt6.....Just been reading the reviews and getting to find out that its not fully supported by the ps3 (ON GT6). Most def want the wheel but i dont know if its worthwhile :(

If you plan to get a ps4 later - the G29 is not a bad idea. Just right now it is a bit pricey for what it is IMO, but should be a solid wheel and last you multiple years.

Yeah i agree with u on the point of its a bit to price heavy right now :( ..... I also reckon it should be a very reliable wheel, i am currently looking to purchase a PS4 tbh :) ..... Its a disappointment that its not already patched into Gt6 steering wheel options menu tho :( .....

It will never be patched into GT6 as a G29. The switch for ps3 mode basically turns the firmware to DFGT - so that the ps3 can work with all the buttons on front. The clutch will not work on ps3 and the h-patter shifter will not work ps3 using the G29.

Edit - I guess I can't say never.. but so far nothing I have seen says it will be. There are no plans to build a G29 PS4 switch position driver for the ps3 by logitech. So unless PD creates one internally for GT6 (very unlikely I think) it won't happen.

Yes because shifter is only for PS4 tho.
I going pick up G29 tomorrow in Australia finally. I don't have to wait till 30th September.

Further to my previous posts about refusing to buy a G29, I now have a G29!

But fear not, I have not parted with £300 of my hard earned for a recycled G27/DFGT. In fact my old man does reviews for Amazon, and as a result can choose a variety of things to be sent to try out and review. They must like his reviews for them to offer him a G29! No shifter sadly but I may look into getting that in the future.

As a DFGT owner it feels like a very good step up, the FFB is so much smoother and quieter and the pedals are significantly improved in both feel and quality. It has made playing Project Cars a far more enjoyable experience as it was frustrating with a controller (I always used my DFGT for PS3 games) and I am very grateful to have a decent wheel for upcoming racing games on the PS4.

However the points I made earlier still stand, I really hope Logitech/Sony see sense and offer some way of allowing the G25/7 and DFGT to be compatible with the PS4.

I hope not, just sold my G27.
The way I see it I may still get G29 even at current prices since you basically need to spend extra $100 on the T300 to buy the pedals. If logitech decides to provide PS4 support for the G27 I'll be officially :grumpy:

Got Logitech G29 today! Love this wheel! I played NFS Shift on PS3....too strong FFB killing my arms I am wonder anyone know about steer locking setting? It's only plug to pc to change it or?

Edit: I forget to add, I did tried steer locking set same as DFGT setting from pinned post, doesn't work. I use default 240 degree I am hope anyone know about steer locking setting. I hope I'll check Logitech setup on pc to see what's happen.

Well, hello everybody here at GTPlanet! :gtpflag:

I just ordered a G29 UK version from Amazon Germany for under 300€ (serial nr: 941-000113 as opposed to the regular 400€ german model 941-000112). So, I´m curious, do I only, as I reckon, need a UK plug adapter, or are there any other differences? Driverwise?

Also, when using the wheel in PS3 mode (in GT6), is the wheel physically locked to 240° rotation or does it only recognise 240° out of the whole 900°?

Thank you all in advance for your answers, I am really unsure if I just made a bad purchase :guilty:

Yes I got same problem for PS3 NFS Shift, locked 240 degree, I tried DFGT degree lock setting and no luck :(

Just out of curiosity, you guys are using the G29 on the PS3 with the switch on the top of the rim set to PS3, not PS4... Yes?

Yeah, can anyone who has a G29 say how it works in GT6? Does the clutch work, and if you have the H-shifter, does it work too? Thank you.

I don´t think I fully understand. I learned from this thread that setting the switch on the wheel to PS3 basically turns the 900° G29 into a DFGT, which only has 240° turning radius. So, point is, you can actually only use 240° of your 900° on any PS3 game... but my question was: Is it locked to 240° physically by moving the switch to "PS3", or can you still turn the wheel all 900° with only 240° registering in game?

As I understand, neither the clutch nor the shifter work on PS3 due to the wheel registering as a Driving Force GT on PS3, as the DFGT does not have a shifter or a clutch.

Future PS4 user here. Didn’t wanted to start a new thread for this so my little off topic experience from last week:

Put my one year old G27 for sale in craigslist before “it goes down in price too much” so I thought. Checked completed items in the bay and was surprised that lots of G27 were being sold close to $200. I was ok asking for $150 so I finally list it for $180. The first day got a call from somebody offering $150 and I agreed; while doing the sale the guy mentioned that he wanted the wheel as a present for is brother but was out of stock from amazon and couldn’t wait. Mmmmh!. I got a second e-mail from a guy offering $100 and later $125; he said it was fair since it was $230 brand new (but out of stock I thought). I ignored that. Later I third person contacted my offering $125 he mentioned that he just ordered a full racing cockpit but when it showed up his thrustmaster sopped working. Mmmh!.

Looks like PC users are snatching all the G27 they can (use or new) before it is finally gone replaced by the $400 G920. In retrospective I should’ve hold to the wheel a little longer and sell it close to $200. And yes looks like I’ll steer clear of the thrustmaster stuff and give my money to Logitech.. yet again.:ouch:

I checked out some stores locally and over the borders (in another country) and Apparently the G29 won't come out here until around late September / early October.

Oh great...by the time I will probably be busy with school, tests, exams....etc :indiff:

Hi mate,
The G29 is full 900 degree so in game locked 240 degree, it's hard to turning very sensitive.

I was mention about steer locking like this:

this HTML class. Value is https://www.gtplanet

eMAG Bulgaria G29 for 270 euro.

Alright, just got my G29 in the mail today. As I reckoned it works just fine with a UK to mainland europe travel adapter. Putting it through its paces at the moment. Tried GT6 and really had trouble adapting, coming from my previous wheel, a Logitech Formula Force GP (like, 15 years old), tried the NASCAR time trial and missed the gold time by /100th of a second. Boooo ;D With the FF GP I was much faster.
Currently trying Grid Autosport. Fun, but ultimately not very realistic physics and force feedback is meh... :(
For those of you interested, the UK version G29 is still under 300€ on amazon Germany: http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00YUOVBZK/
But the deal @super_gt posted looks great as well, for those outside of Germany!

edit:
@HeroStar1988 I cannot get the steering lock trick to work either. Sorry mate :-(

Meanwhile in the US the G27 went front $230 to $260. Should've waited to sell mine:banghead:
Also I don't think the G29 will come down in price too much this year. Maybe the only opportunity will be a black Friday deal

It's all good mate. I think G29 isn't great for PS3. Because of shifter and steer locking so I got G27 for free from work and it's much better on PS3.
I guess I'll stick G29 for PS4 only.

I use G27 base + G27 shifter + G29 pedal (because brake pedal is Damn nice :P)
If PS4 G29 base + G27 shifter + G29 pedal.
I'll keep new shifter for back up in case.
