Hmm, reading most of the comments here, it seems it's already been decided that the G29 is nothing more than a G27 with a new badge. Case closed.

So... why even bother reviewing it?

If the G29 has a fairly quick decrease in price, then it's probably much more worthy of consideration. The G27 isn't a bad wheel, so I expect the G29 to be okay too, but it's coming into the market place with technology that's getting dated and still carrying a rather hefty price tag that's hard to justify.

It will sell, even at its current price, but I doubt that it will sell anywhere near as many units as the G27 did.

With the G29 now shipped and in peoples hands. Has anyone tried to see if G25/G27 works on the PS4?
There may have been an update somewhere. Worth a try.

Does someone know whether the new G29 has the same holes for screws as the old G25? I'm planning to use it with my existing wheel stand pro and hope I don't need to buy a new one, too.

Yeah it's a direct fit from what I was told

So does anybody have this wheel in their possession yet? ISR review kinda says it all though,a t300rs with G29 pedals is the combo to have. I'll stick with my MOMO T500rs with modded G27 pedals...

I am going to make the G29 my next wheel.

Both the T300 and the G29 cost $399. Neither includes a shifter. But the pedals on the T300 are the lowest quality pedals you can find. Worse than on the entry level DFGT (which I have).

If you wanted to add a shifter to the T300 you have to buy new pedals to get the clutch pedal...not so on the G29. G29 comes with awesome pedals already.

Logitech has proven reliability and amazing customer service which goes a long way in my book. I have had a DFGT since 2012 and have had zero problems.

Fit and finish on the G29 is much better...who doesn't like leather over rubber?

Definitely getting the G29 in August.

I agree with everything you have said, except for the customer service.

I'm certain that the T300 has a better FFB, but it's reliability is questionable. That said, if budget is no issue and the reliability doesn't concern you, then a T300/TH8A/T3PA-Pro would be an incredible setup.

Since I own a DFGT and a T300, I'd like to point out that the stock T300 pedals are better than the DFGT ones. I found the T300 springs stiffer and therefore easier to use, and the pedal faces are more comfortable as well.

You can also lean your foot on the T300 brake without it registering an input, whereas even trying to do that on the DFGT pedals results in 5% brake registering.

I agree that the stock T300 pedals are not great, of course, but if you are used to the DFGT then you could even be pleasantly surprised by the T300 pedals.

Never used dfgt..t300 is only second wheel set, first was g27..so yeah the stock pedals suck till can get the money order the pro set

I guess if if you go from a DFGT to a T300 the pedals would seem like an improvement, but if you go from a G25/G27 to the T300 the pedals would seem like a serious downgrade.

If you have G25/27 as your previous wheel, you would be better off buying the T300 and using the Ricmotech adapter so you can use your G25/27 pedals. FFB on T300 is miles better and you don't get pedal downgrade. As you said reliability is potentially an issue though. But if you're upgrading from DFGT then the G29 makes sense for now. Maybe save the T300 for next gen (if they haven't released a new wheel already by then).

After a long wait on backorder my g29 finally arrived yesterday. Out of the box the thing seems very high quality. I was disappointed that the pedals don't fit on the platform of my 2006 Playseat. The pedal assembly is huge and very heavy. So for now the pedals sit on the carpet to the right of the playseat.

I've been a dfgt owner for years and have burned through about 5 of them drifting in gt5 and 6. This wheel feels wayyyyy sturdier. It also has a much quieter motor. Doesn't sound like a saw when whipping the wheel back and forth.

I tried a thrustmaster t80 when the t300 was on backorder. Needless to say the t80 is garbage and went back within a week. Only got about 2 hours on project cars with the g29 last night but it sure feels right playing a racing game with a wheel again

Can anyone confirm whether the optional 6 sp shifter works on PS3
It doesn't work.

The PS3 recognises a G29 as a DFGT, which doesn't have a H shifter. So, the H shifter doesn't work on the PS3, unless game developers add new drivers specifically for the G29 in the future.

The G29 should feel much better than a DFGT, it's a totally different piece of kit. The G29 is pretty much a G27, which was always much heavier and quieter than a DFGT.

For a fair comparison, the G29 needs to be compared to the G27 and T300.

I also received it yesterday. And my impression was basically the same. I also come from a DFGT. The wheel is a lot quieter and the pedals are really heavy. Played PCars till my arms hurts. I also have the shifter, but did not try it, maybe tonight after the kids are asleep.

You have no idea how much better the steering is on the TM. The G27 is really really weak in this department. You can change the pedals (much better than the ones on the G27) on the TM and have the best of both worlds.

But the TM are not that reliable. I know because I had a T300RS which started to show problems after only a few weeks of using. The Logitech wheels are much more reliable.

You keep saying this. But normally people do an RMA of a faulty product and get a replacement.
My Fanatec GT2 needed the codewheel sensor repaired since it was broken on arrival. I got Fanatec to repair it and was then able to use it happily for years. Should I instead have sent it back and spent years complaining about Fanatec quality on forums? I opted to have a working wheel and enjoy Forza with it instead ;)

I asked for a full refund because I wasn't interested in the T300RS anymore, not only because of the malfunction but also because I wasn't that impressed with the T300RS. So why getting a replacement if you're not interested in the product anymore.
BTW, I'm definitely not complaining, just stating a fact that it is not the most reliable product compared with Logitech.

For what it's worth logitech are not immune from reliability issues either, a good friend of mine went and bought a g27 on my recommendation ( I owned a g25 at the time ) only to get it home and find out it was dead on arrival which kind of put him off getting a wheel at all after he got his refund..

I do find it somewhat interesting that you were unhappy with the performance of the T300, as if that really is the case then you must be horrified with the G29 with its ancient technology... pretty sure I saw it doing the same crap as my old G25 when watching the isr review :scared:
