I recall reading/hearing July for the G29, and October for the G920. I can't find where I got this information from though.

I'm looking now, but until I find my source I am just guessing.

:edit:
What I found was a mention of Amazon listing the wheel available for July 15th.

Truthfully, I doubt that's when the G29 will ship. Mid August might be when it actually ships.

Why couldn't it?

What if many of the physics limitations in GT6 are simply due to the old hardware it's running on?

Possible, but unlikely. Old PC sims like rFactor, LFS and Simbin games (GTL, GTR2, Race07) can run on hardware less powerful than the PS3 but they are still more realistic than GT6.

The main hardware limitation with GT6 is graphics. It's true that good physics require a lot of computing power, but not as much as graphics. The physics limitation is most likely a conscious design decision by PD to maintain accessibility to the wider crowd. And there's nothing wrong with that. I still enjoy GT for what it is. But calling GT the most realistic sim is a big no-no.

It's for preorder on the Logitech.com website ! On the Australian Logitech website it says coming soon !
Does that mean we get it later?

EBGames Australia release date is 30th September, not sure why.

Any guys have confirm release date for USA?

Someone at Logitech had an epiphany and decided that “tech” means nothing now, so they will rename the company to just logi. Interesting if the new wheels will be sold under the new name.

Yeah, it makes things bloody confusing if you guys will call me with a short name. As has been done so many times in the last 15 years.
Heck, a friend of mine used to call my "Logi" in real life.

I curse them for it! 🤬

Besides, their old logo was 10 times better and had way more design to it than that modern piece of ugly. It's clear it's not the awesome company of old anymore, sadly.

Btw. My nickname was made from "The power of logic" 15 years ago and doesn't relate to Logitech or any other company that popped up with the name "LogiForce" in the last 15 years. In fact there were no companies with that name 15 years ago.
But yeah, since power is a force... LogiForce. :)
It kinda relates to me having a liking for Mr. Spock (Star Trek) his logical way of thinking... which was his own power to tackle issues and solve problems. Also I just like Star Trek in general. Although I am not really a 'Trekie' as it's called, since I don't own anything Star Trek related.

That's actually a really good topic for a thread,is there a thread for GTPers explaining the reasoning behind there user names?

On topic:I think it's silly of them to change the name. Maybe it's a copyright thing?

I just explained the stuff because everyone always associates it with the darn company that this thread's topic is a product from. Not that I expect anyone to care at all.

As for the bloody topic... it's not even about the company itself either! So stop being a troll that tries to be picky when you can't even be accurate yourself. Sheesh!

As for the topic... the Logitech G29/G920. Or should I say Logi G29/G920 now?
I don't think this wheel will be a success, at least not for the product itself. The product design is aged and while a great product it has its drawbacks as well. Looking at the price range it is in and what you get for it... meh, I think people might go look at the competition instead.
What might still give Logitech... eh Logi. It's hard getting used to that name. :(
I think that Logi might still have the upperhand in terms of having better sales channels and marketing skills. So their products reach a wider spread of retailers world wide than the competition. Although with the new brand name I fear that maybe the name recognition might disappear with the average consumer, which could cause a significant impact in sales. The old Logitech brand was well known and everyone knows what that name stood for... especially quality mice!

I dunno... with all the changes to Logitech/Logi has made and is still making and the lack of R&D these days. I am not sure what I have to think of the company. Personally these changes are often made by managers that are brought in to overhaul/renew the company to try and make them more profitable, but instead I see them bring a company into bankruptcy.
I have that same kind of feeling with AMD. Especially with the last release of cards, the crappy driver support and the online politics towards Nvidia.

Anyway, it's a nice wheel but I am sure there were already reasons years ago for Kaz to pick Thrustmaster over Logitech when it came to choosing a new GT-wheel. Seeing as Logitech still doesn't want to move on towards better things even with that makes me fear the worst.

At least we'll know one thing. The product in its base is well tested with the many years that it was sold as a G27. So if anyone here wants one than at least they can be sure that it's going to be good. :)

Troll? Ok. You seem pretty sensitive about a name change. I can think what I want about it,thanks.

So the Logi G29 will be available at Amazon tomorrow. I wonder if the brick and mortar stores will have it ready for purchase too?

Tis been confirmed that the G29 will hard mount onto the Wheel Stand Pro G27 mounts.

I'm gonna try request one unit for a review. I know I'm a small-time reviewer but it's worth a try.

Small time reviews are more candid and frank than bigger review entities. They have the benefit of not having to play nice with the MFG by avoiding "sensitive" topics. They can outright say a product is junk, where the bigger entities have to withhold that opinion. I look forward to your take on the wheel.

:edit:

Granted the bigger entities have advantages, like getting pre-release products to take a look at. But I tend to look at what I am getting in the product I receive, not the next to final version of the product.

I'm not suggesting that anyone approaches a review, with the intentions of slamming a product. That sort of premeditated bias isn't helpful to anyone. But being able to honestly say a product does not meet expectations, or performs poorly because of X... Is a lot more helpful to the community and even the MFG's. It seems that the current crop of major review outlets are afraid to be critical. And that is helping no one but themselves.

[Stepps off the soapbox]

:edit 2:

I just looked at Amazon and seen the "Out of Stock" blurb, then I went to Logitech to see if Amazon was blowing smoke. It turns out that the wheel is available for purchase on Logitech's site, so Amazon was right on the release date. Now how long until the first G29s are in the hands of those who want them?

Nice helical gearing clanking noise (at 17:15) ;)
Nice to see you commenting her again, but instead of knocking the competition maybe you could comment on all the failures people are having with their TM wheels. You seem to be avoiding those threads like the plague.

Just got finished watching ISR's first look. I like much of what I see, except for the center dead zone and the wheel doesn't seem to be that strong. Good to know that the pedals have progression, so a brake mod wouldn't be an immediate necessity. Looking forward to the comparison.

After watch whole ISR review. I'm surprised that G27 shifter is support to G29. Make me wonder if G27 shifter button is work? (If I'm not pay attention via video)
Can't wait to pick up!

For PCARS he used default settings, which has a bit of deadzone. It probably won't have it if he reduced it to 0. My G27 never had any deadzone.

The buttons on the shifter do not work.
