"Fixed that for you." Use sparingly, unless you've got an award-winning sence of humor.

GB womens hockey 1-0 up against NED at half time. Come on Twiggy you absolute nutcase! Pulling faces like that you'll scare the opposition out of the arena!

Fear not!!, for i am here to type more useless nonsense, and not really add anything valuable to the discussion.

:D

Just got in from work and now watching the womens pole volt.

Well I have an early start for the next 4 days and I'm still amazed at how the judges in the women's middleweight boxing were so obviously cheating with the scoring.

Why do all the Chinese women in Shot Put scream after they throw it... Gets on my nerves...

Apparently if Yorkshire were an NOC, we'd be 10th in the medal table.

Apparently my little country tops the medals per population. :D

Hey people, know of a good live stream for this? Computer at work is pretty blocked, and so far I've found nothing.

Help, folk .

I don't think anyone will put a link up as its against the AUP

Not necesarily. I watch stuff in a mexican website that legally has the official broadcasting system streaming all day. I'd supose there are more websites like that somewhere.

Scotland would be in 3rd, with 8 medals (including 5 golds) and a population of 5.2 million...

Interesting, I thought Scotland had a bigger population.

Ok, this might be a stupid question but I never looked into that, why can England, Scotland, Wales, etc participate in World Cup and only GB in Olympic games?

That's a disappointment, but he hasn't looked that good in the games.

He was MUCH better in the final than he was in the semi final! but it was always going to be an uphill battle for him..

Damn!!, missed the 400m hurdles final.. seen them streaming past in the background of the women's pole vault, couldn't switch red button quick enough.
Good to hear Dai finish 4th, unfortunate it wasn't a bronze but still well done.

Actually, in the hurdles, are those in the inside lanes at a disadvantage?... sharper direction change approaching hurdle/ smoother sweep for those in the outside lanes?

Not sure myself, but UEFA and FIFA have always recognised that Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland have separate Football Associations and leagues etc., so allow them to compete separately in world football... Team GB was actually pretty controversial - the Scottish and Welsh FAs did not want it to happen, but I personally couldn't fathom what the fuss was about. That said, there were precious few Scottish players involved - but the Welsh players involved were among the best in the team (Bellamy and Giggs).

Scotland now struggle to qualify for any big tournaments, and Wales have never qualified for a major tournament - but arguably it is better to try than to be guaranteed no participation by being part of a British team that is almost exclusively English...
