In SPA and LeMans you can even use the GT5 time honoured technique of waiting by the finish line!

Ha! I did think about doing that but trying to work out if I was far enough ahead proved too much. I had visions of me sitting there, them all coming flying past and having to do the 24 minutes over again.
For Willow Springs I tried the Rocket, thinking it would make it more of a challenge, and sure enough I was overtaking a few cars but dropping back from the leader. They all pitted and I found myself in second place, 12 seconds behind the leader on the last lap. Then suddenly on the last bend I noticed I was in first place. The leader had disappeared. Should have saved the replay because I'd love to know what happened there.

I wanted to try it for Nurburgring (it is a 10 minute lap!) but I miscalculated where the line was and stopped just past it :banghead:. Also it would have been really close as the ai crossed the line at 24:03 or something like that.

I had the same happen with the rocket at Willow Springs. I was third about 7 seconds behind 2nd place and saw 2nd place pull into the pits. The race display showed that P1 didn't pit ( I could also see him on the map), then about 20 seconds later he was gone from the map and I was in first place. He then showed up leaving the pits.

I'm glad it's not just me. I was beginning to think I had imagined it. The only explanation I can think of is that that the P1 car ran out of fuel on the last lap and got reset into the pits. They seem to have made these races impossible to lose. I'm going to try it in the Honda Fit later. That should do it.

Edit - I can now confirm it is possible to lose in the Honda. Didn't come last though. I never saw the car I beat and I'm sure I was last on the race display, but the leader board gave me P15. There's some strange stuff going on in this race.

Finished the S-class races now. I used the Elise race car for Brands Hatch. No pit stops, tyres hardly worn but almost out of fuel at the end. Easy win.
