Alright drivers, we're only days away from our Thursday night racing venue. So what did you guys think about our random one make races? Should we continue with them? Should we build a race schedule which includes an endurance race?

I got a request to pick a 'Club Car'. Sort of a car that represents our group. My chose would be the Shelby GT 500. Now with that chose we run the GT 500 in at least one race for each remaining Thursday night races of March and then pick another car for April and so on.

Good idea Tiger. Are you thinking do like:

Start Time (not sure when Tarkus gets on 8pm?)

8pm-9pm PP Races/Vote for Track

9:15pm Club Car Race (Shelby Gt500) @ "change track each week"
@MRTeam
-Stock? Tuned @ 550pp? 600pp Tires?
Be cool if everyone bought the club car each month so we dont have to use the courtesy car. Even if we go stock. I personally would like to tune them to a certain PP.

-Last week of each month, whoever wins that race picks next month's car?

-How long you thinking for race like 30-40mins?

10pm -10:30 Cool down, PP Races

10:35pm - Nascar Race

11:10pm - Weekly One-Make this one should be stock. And each week we can do a vote or something.

11:45pm-whenever PP Races, shoot the 🤬.

Great Idea! Excellent choice for the Car seems fitting. Think we should do a redo up on the Mountain also!

Lets see what @tarkus1 thinks and go from there.

Edit:
Nice Photo! Only if those Cars looked that way at the end of 3 little laps 👍

Good ideas Tjger, JLG. My vote:Shelby GT500 @ 550PP , tires ?, 8-10 laps depending on the track. We would all have the same car but with our own customizations. Could make for some fun racing. Will look forward to Tarkus thoughts on the matter.

Alright, let me see if I can recap your idea(s)

Yes I would definitely like some sort of time schedule Even if its a little off.
Yes 30-40 mins or roughly 30-40 laps. Of course depending on length of one lap.
Yes Cool down PP races, I like that too.
Yes NASCAR at Spa? Hmmm, sounds funny. Sounds really fishy funny.
Yes the winner can choose next month's Club Car.

For the remainder of this month or a fresh start for April. My chose(with 2 yes') for Club car is The Ford Shelby GT 500.
PP Either 550 or 575 or 600. Stock weight w/ a few weight reduction items. HP We can work on that. I'm in favor of NOT too high to keep cots low.

My four choses for the month of April.
Apricot Hill
Rome
Grand Valley
Spa-Francochamps (a possible pick for club track.)

Alternate tracks: Suzuka and Mount Panorama

Now let's hear from our Race Director.

Oh yeah, Next month marks the 50th Anniversery of the Ford Mustang. April 17th a Thursday to be exact.

@MRTeam
I did some tinkering with the Shelby last night. Tuned it to 600pp I love it now. I up for any PP, but 550 will require to detune like 6pp with no oil change. I can share some settings if anyone wants. I think I did some power (Supercharger and stage1 at like 91%) and weight mods with some ballast. I don't mind changing to meet race requirements.

I think we should start this Thursday! Since its your idea you choose the tracks!

NASCAR at Spa!? I'm afraid already...

Oh definitely every Shelby should recieve an oil change. Every car for that matter.
Yeah please share you snake charmer settings with me on the PSN email service. THANKS

If you can share OUR thoughts with everyone else(PSN email) today, please do. So nobody is left in the dark.

Now I got to figure out how to get a truck load of chew to Spa and a few red Solo cups.

Will do!

I can sneak on later, try and spread the word and will send you the Shelby Setup see what you think. I may PM it to you also, so its easier to read if thats ok.

Wow, you fellers have been busy. Lets see if I can post a reply that covers everything you guys have discussed so far. But before I do, I do want to make sure to say to please remind me when we're all online this week. I know Tjger and I talked about some things early on previously but as the night progressed the ideas must have slipped by the wayside.
So here goes:
1. I love the idea of the times/schedule. If we post that we may get more people joining in for specific races and they just MIGHT want to stick around.
2. The club car is a cool idea but here's where I may have a slightly different opinion. The car you picked is a good choice but unfortunately I think we should keep that (at least for now) as a 1 make. We are still growing and I just wouldn't want to eliminate anyone from a long race just b/c they may be new at the game and not have enough cash yet. I felt bad last week when DLP took the commentator role for the NASCAR race. Normally it wouldn't be bad but those races typically take a bit longer. He was a good sport for sure though. Now the negative side to this is that I don't know if we would be able to still do the tire changes, pits, compound changes, etc. for a borrowed car. Of course if everyone has the Shelby GT I'm more than open to what is stated above. This would be very cool as a 30-40 lap race but my vote goes to Mt Panorama as it seems that track is popular with most but I'm really open on this.
3. of course NASCAR will remain and can be scheduled for a certain time.
4. Whoever wins the "club race" picks the next car? Crap!!!!!!!!!! I guess I'll never get to pick. (I'm whining right now). Good idea and I do like it though.
So my recap is our standard races for the first hour or so then we do the long club race using the Shelby, followed by more normal PP races followed by NASCAR and some one make races. I'll come up with a loose schedule and post it along with sending a PSN message to everyone about the Shelby. I would assume most people have this car already though as it comes as an anniversary car unless you guys were thinking we don't use those.

Ok, here is my suggestion(s).
The Shelby GT 500 will be the April 'Club Car' of the month. That's three weeks to raise 55,000 credits.
The club car will be ran in an endurance race for each Thursday night. Four total. Laps reduced to around 25-30. PP 600. HP to be discussed, but no over spending. Weight: Stock. Tires: Driver's chose.
Tracks: Apricot Hill, Rome, Mt. Panorama, and Suzuka.

At the end of the month the driver with the most accumulated points will pick the Club Car/tracks for the month of May.

NASCAR, once a month. April Laguna Seca, May Daytona, and June Indy.

Sound great, I'm not a serious racer and just want to drive With some people and have fun.
I don't do online that much but every two Thursday for me it's good!
My ID mazda3pro
Thank you

Send Tarkus1 a FR on PSN and meet up with us on Thursday.

The main thing I'm looking for is a schedule built well enough into the future so teams and drivers can plan accordingly.
This would help get the word out to everyone by whatever means possible. Which right now is our biggest obstacle to overcome.
Fuel, tires, the car(s), and hotel reservations. Logistics, logistics.

So thrusday lets plan a team/driver's meeting.

Alright our first real endurance race this Thursday night. Our race director has announced an endurance race(25-30) laps around Mt Panorama. Car will be the Shelby GT 500. Ok, now for the details.
All participating drivers will be expected to bring their own cars.
Performance level will be 570 So there is some room to tune.
Horsepower will be set at 700 A stock engine with an oil change peaks out at 694. So there is some room to tune
Minimum weight is set at 1720. A stock Shelby weighs in at 1733. So you can take out the CD player.

A tire compound change will be required. So to make it clear you must posses TWO types of tire compounds. How you chose to use them is up to you.

Yes Fuel consumption will be a factor.

Penalties and damage will be as our normal Thursday night.

It was also announced that a second endurance race with the Shelby GT 500 could be held Thursday night. Unfortunately that depends on us getting our cars, drivers, teams, and planes out of Australia.

Our beloved race director forgot to factor in that Australia is hosting the first round of the 2014 Formula One race. Yes Melbourne. Luckily the McCarthy Racing Team never left Australia due to the cold U.S. winters. So we're already down here. Oh and yes don't worry the stands will be empty during our race. Everyone will be watching F1.

Alright, thrusday night racing is closing in on us fast.
One race for sure will be our endurance event at Mt. Panorama.

Tonight in preparation for the upcoming race. I will host a practise session only for anyone interested. Time will be 8:00 PM EST to 10:00 PM EST. Get with tarkus1 since most of you are not on my FR list. Then send me your FR.

I highly encourage everyone to attend. You can practise, tune, and compare times with the competition. Hint: 2:17.765 is good.....
Also this session will give drivers some more time to become familar with the track layout including pit lane location and entrance speeds.

The Shelby GT 500.. 570 PP 700 HP 1720 WT. Tuning is allowed along with any performance equipment teams desire.
Fuel and tire wear will be set to fast. Which is forecasted to be the race regulations tomorrow night.
Damage will be set to weak.

Driving aids will be available.

Do not forget. Each team is required to purchase two sets of tires for the race. The stock tires will be removed and used to beef up the various tire barriers around the circuit.

I am hoping to get there (both tonight and tommorrow) if the snow turns to rain I wont have to work long.

So tarkus1 had a different tuning requirement in his PSN meassage I got. Just confirming this is the correct limitations.

Yes, the post is slightly off. Mainly because the Shelby GT 500 in stock form from the dealer is already above 550. Now it would be a shame to run an endurance race( possibly two) with a stock engine and no oil change. Thats where the increase is coming from. This gives some room for tuning with these revised numbers. Mainly in an effort to keep the competition close and the costs to the each team low.

EDIT: Again to reduce any confusion. Any and all performance items a team desires to use is APPROVED.

EDIT: So it is possible to run a bigger engine. You can use use ballast and or the power limiter to meet regulations. Remember the Snake is very nose heavy. So crunch the numbers.

EDIT: Tonight is your last night. Three hours of practise.
If tonight is a success then in the future I will hold two practises with a possible third open to the public.

In the future and with driver's input(s) we could increase the numbers and let the Big Snake run.

Quick insert: Congratulations on those drivers who have figured out how to make those 3 magic numbers work for them. I gave a few hints in these past posts and now you know why I chose them. You guys get an A+ for crunching the numbers and puzzle solving.

Final Practise tonight at 8:00 PM. Now let see who's sand bagging.

To all those drivers who took advantage of last night's practise session at Mt Panorama. Great showing.
As far as my attempt at repeating some great laps from tuesday nights practise. That didn't happen.

Right now the team is still busy welding in a few steel beams in an attempt to reailgin the twisted frame.
It was also decided to cut out the frame rails verses trying to vacumn the several pounds of sand.

Oh and thank you to the Mt Panorama track crews for leaving the lights on in the pits.

Gentlemen start your engines. Which is something I can't do since I dropped the keys somewhere ...in the sand.

I don't care who you are, they AIN'T funny.

Any good pit crew members out there for hire? Last time I hit the pits (in Daytona), they abandoned me and left me to the wolves. The wolves being you guys of course. I don't offer benefits but do pay virtual money well.

Looking forward to tonight's event and sorry I couldn't make any practice sessions Tjger. i'll catch up one day.
See you all in my rearview mirror. (Uh Oh, probably shouldn't have said that!!!!!!)

No problem BOSS,
I think it would be great to divide up some of the responsibilties you have.

I'll be on a little earlier to help set up the race. I suggest we create a new room with all the regulations and requirements so things go smoothly.

I'll create the room we used last night for practise and you jump in.

EDIT: For future heads up. April 17, a thrusday marks the 50th Annv for the Ford Mustang.
Any takers for a one time race using the Ford Mustang BOSS 302. I've been around them for most of my life. If not a race, just a slow parade lap around my favorite track. Grand Valley Speedway. Maybe a very confused 'group picture' at the starting line or the Grand Valley bridge with any Mustang.

@Tjger: How about everyone bring a different year. There are at least 8-10 different Mustangs in the game. It would be good to represent all the available years for the anniversary. Think about it.

^ Yes, to try bringing a different year Mustang would be great.

Alright now for the big event. Last night's 25 lap endurance race at Mt Panorama.

First, my RESPECT goes out to any and everyone who has raced on that circuit. It is without a doubt both a physical and mental demanding circuit. The Boss 302 would have been a better chose and I congratulate every driver on keeping their Shelby GT 500 on the track.....at times.

Race strategies played a major factor which were key to several battles for position(s).
My biggest thanks goes out to my crew for working all night to fix repairs and welding up damage inflicted during Wednesday night's practice session. THANK YOU The car ran great and the only problem was the wrong tire choose for the remaining laps. Finishing 5th with a close battle for 4th is still awesome considering we were in 11th at the start.
The red one at the back.

The last and most THANKS goes to the Mt. Panorama organization for allowing us 'Yanks' to use their circuit.

ADDED: Now as far as the NASCAR race at Daytona. I enjoyed that one even better. Why?
Because my pit crew decided to let me.....drive. Actually they fell asleep after partying HEAVILY on our trip back from Austrailia. They deserved it. THANKS girls.

Damnit! i got caught in getting lunch with my girlfriend that i forgot all about the race, ****! lol anyways it looks like you had a good outcome....hope the race was a lot of fun? hope to see you guys next thursday!

Nice picture Tiger!

Had the Wifey venting all night about this and that. And it was her birthday, so I had to run.

That was fun, I started dead last on the grid and never saw the front after a couple spin outs in front of me. No worries I love this track I didn't have my A-Game. Great job Stockerace and you front runners. Looking forward to the next one!

Have to give it up to Tiger and Tarkus for putting it together spur of the moment with a great turnout.

^ THANKS and no problem.
ADDED: We're at the level that one individual can't do it all and juggle a normal life.
The short notice, yeah but it proves you guys can pull together and make it happen.
So whats on your mind for next week?
Should we race the Snake again? Pick a track.

Apricot Hill would be a good one. Much different layout and strategy than Bathurst.

We need a relatively cheap car and I think. 500-525 pp limit at Apricot is good. Hmmmm...

Criteria:
-Easy drive/tune Car
-PP Range
-American, Asia, or Europe?
-Modern or Classic

What about the '67 Toyota 2000 GT that would be about 450pp. (Im not sure if that year is correct).

I would do the Shelby again also.

For now, we'll rest a little. I'll have my PS 3 on tonight and if anyone wants to chat I'll open a room.
Several of you guys mentioned it was a great work out. Next thing you know people may stop going to the gym. So it is possible to get a work out playing a video game. Go figure.

Great racing last night. I appreciate everyone letting me win @ Bathhurst. Good times, hope to get some good photos from the replay. See you all next week....................Stock

Alright, it's Saturday morning. Time for next week's schedule.

MARCH 20. Also known as the first day of Spring.

8:00 EST 'race time' starts with casual races.
9:00 EST Main Event NASCAR Track. Race director's chose. Either Laguna Seca or Daytona.

Remainder of the night.
Casual racing until everyone falls asleep or external noises interrupt our racing concentration(s).

Now for future events.

MARCH 27:
8:00 EST 'race time' starts with casual races.
9:00 EST Main Event Shelby GT 500 Track Apricot Hill. Regulations. Same as our race as Mt Panorama.
I promise this will be the last race for our Shelby GT 500. This will give everyone the opportunity to win back the money they had invested in the car. At Mt Panorama 1st took 105,000 and I finishing 5th took 54,000 credits. Not a bad day of racing.

Remainder of the night.
Casual racing until everyone falls asleep or external noises interrupt our racing concentration(s).

Future Main events planned or in discussion.
GT 300 at Suzuka
GT 3 at the Nurburgring F1 or Spa-Francochamps.
Go Fast one lap at Special Stage X
1999-2001 GT-Rs
Honda Element at Autumn Ring, 1000HP Nitrous allowed.
Karts

ADDED: Superbirds at Daytona.

NOTE: All of this can change including spacing out the Main Events. Maybe an every other week schedule. This would give drivers/teams a more driver/normal life schedule. Also up for discussion is starting the Main Event at 8:30 EST.

Most of our drivers live in the EST time zone.
I know, I used to live in that zone.
