Good Evening guys 👍

Here's another Video......unfortunately after two minutes of recording the sound just dissappeard  :odd: so when I edited it I added some music.

Enjoy :)

You know what to do by now....double click the Video and watch it via You Tube in High Quality playback.

How incredibly embarrassing. Craig, stay away from me!!! :scared:

I'm just kidding mate, that video was superb and I loved the soundtrack. The way you caught different groups and different stages of the race...worked brilliantly didn't it? Many thanks for that. How many other events got their own camera car eh??

As for tonight, again GTP_HUN and GTP_mr_Geez were superb, and JvM and Energiya joined the fun later on being straight on the pace. Some incredibly intense races tonight, people really taking the Evora Cup very seriously. You guys really want this one on the mantlepiece!

This Lotus Evora is a real enigma of a car. Not really tending towards oversteer or understeer in any categoriseable way, it has great handling and is very reliable...yet you just know you will make one horrific mistake in 5 laps of Suzuka. It seems absolutely unavoidable!

I've got a few ideas about this event, Dan your input would be great too.

1) A simultaneous hotlap competition where we post our best laps in this thread from online freerun and on the first page, we do a leaderboard like Timppaq used to do for the other events. No need for a separate thread.

2) When the event is coming to a close (i.e. when Suzuka 750PP is removed by an update), we all vote for our top 3 drivers in the event and the one with the most votes...well...they get to walk away with the Lotus Evora Cup :)

3) Giving the other cars a 30 second headstart. Some of the slower 750PP drivers are really starting to mess with the outcome of the races. They really can't take being overtaken by the Evoras and resort to blocking, punting etc.

What do you guys think? I am also very happy to keep things exactly the way they are because at the moment even with a grid of 4 cars, the races are sublime.

Keep up the great work lads.

All the best
Maz

Good racing Ren-Tec! You were straight on the pace. Kai, some really good races there as usual. You have a very aggressive but fair style, clean for sure, but you really do push that Evora :) It's great though, keep it up!

Sorry for parking in the last one guys, telephone.

All the best
Maz

Hi Maz, thanks for the flowers, nice races again:cheers:. But last night wasn´t my best:nervous:. At this point, an apologize to everyone which i maybe have slowed down after we started some drifting to have more fun. A big thank to everyone for waiting.

And manuelos, some nice side by side battles with you last night:tup:

Mates, see you later.

Best regards...

Some nice idea's Maz, I don't have a problem with 2 and 3, but fear the extra work involved with keeping the Leaderboard up to date. I find even now I struggle to have enough time in an evening. However I dont mind if you want to set up a leaderboard, here or away from GTP? I can link it in the first post. 👍

Another great video Craig.

First post edited, 30 second wait at start.

Evening all,

My first stab at the Evora event this evening - really enjoyable. What a fantastic little car. Am using DC's tune despite the racing green paint - I'm assuming that the bright orange is the official livery.

Great race with Hyper & AWD - felt like I was being chased down by the orange mafia - man you guys are quick! I'm going to have to work on my lift-off oversteer if I'm going to compete with you chaps. Actually, scrap that - I'm going to have to work on my driving full stop!

I'll definitely be getting some more Evora action; looking forward to a grid's full.

Big up the little car!

Sorry about last night mates. Not my best day at track. Some drifting in the end. Sorry if I slowed anyone down. Have to rest a litle tonight. Hope to see you tomorrow.

In at xx49!!

Another fantastic night of racing, this is really becoming worryingly addictive. GTP_Hun vs GTP_mr_geez vs GTP_JvM vs Synwraith = heaven in an Evora!
But how many mistakes did we all make...unbelievable. I bet you guys loved it when you saw me ahead of you..."Any moment now he's going to throw it off...aaaand there he goes!"
GTP_ENERGIYA was the only one putting in 5 clean laps I think! When he gets as many laps as us in the Evora we need to start getting worried :)

Manuelos! Jon! Kai! Dan(s)! Craig...where were you slow-coaches tonight???

Cheers for the feedback Dan, the 30 second wait is helping with punters and backmarkers very much. Although I think the bright green Amuse took out Hun and Geez in that xx:04 race.

Would the rest of you Evora fans like a Hotlap leaderboard? I am happy to keep track of all the times and maintain a leaderboard which Dan aka GTP_Hyperuk can host on the first post.

All the best
Maz

Burnt Orange is sort of an unofficial color for my tune. You're free to use any color you want. ;)

1 - Indeed, last night was a mix of great racing and horrible mistakes (at least from me). I must say, however, that GTP_JvM had maybe the most impressive driving. He won one race because he was clearly fastest. Catched my earlier lead, passed me in lap 4 and in the last lap I couldn't do much more than to stay in touch. No excuses for me, I deserved 2nd.

2 - Maz, I can tell by the movements of your car that you are driving with the pad, isn't it? If that's the case, I must tell you that your speed is amazing, I could never drive like that using the sixaxis. And I'm sure I would do at least one serious mistake per lap (when racing in close packs). When I drove with the sixaxis I remember that a clean good lap wasn't hard if you were all by yourself, but with traffic all around you, the slight corrections, or lane changes, or evasive actions often needed were much more difficult than with the wheel.

3 - As I guessed, even 30 seconds don't make us avoid noobs in faster cars. Anyway, 30 is better than 20 ...

4 - the hotlap leaderboard idea is interesting. is it to be made in Arcade or Online mode? Tonight I'll do a few laps, I don't have an idea what laptimes the Evora can do without RBE helping or slowing us down.

Actually I agree, JvM was really smokin' last night. He was absolutely brilliant in Spoon and Dunlop, always caught me. I do find though that when I am in someone's slipstream, Spoon gets a lot easier...

Haha yes I am with Sixaxis, and obviously I don't need to ask what gave me away ;) I use the L2 and R2 buttons for throttle and brake, and I use the d-pad for directions. I really don't like the analog PS3 sticks. Thank you for the compliments my friend, very kind of you! There are some places that Sixaxis causes me trouble, one of them is from 200R to Spoon, I almost always over-correct and get wheels on the grass. Other guys like Timeattack07gt and Drama-Kyd are superb with sixaxis as well.

Yeah 30 seconds is definitely better, but still not perfect. We'll wait for private rooms I guess.

The hotlap leaderboard will be in Online free run mode at Suz 750 so everyone can use the same setups that they are used to. I'd say anything below a 2'06 in free run means you're doing very well!

Any more feedback from anyone else on the hotlap idea?? Maybe we can include a rule that we will put your name on the hotlap leaderboard only if you are racing with us in the Evora cup :sly:

I think if we are going to do it, we need to have replay supported laps. 👍

OLR rules ftw 👍

Maybe you can use the same frontpage format as Timppaq used here...

I am happy to sift through posts and collect the best lap data from the members and send you updates every 2 days so you can just copy paste very quickly the changes. Is that cool mate?

What do you think about restricting the hotlap contest to people who actually race in the cup? I don't want to condone exclusion at all, quite the opposite, trying to get more of the lads to come and join us in the racing!

Also, you better be on tonight mate!! ;)

Oohh.. come on mates.. :D Well maybe some sections went well, and thanks for the compliments , but there were some unbelievably horrible mistakes from mee too. :) In almost every race.

The race that Hun mentioned I can be quite happy with. Quess that was the only race where I didn't do big mistakes and the driving in any case went guite well, which is rare. :D

Anyway, thanks again for the fantastic races mates! 👍

See you at the track!

I will be on tonight buddy, I was trying last night, had a few, but kept getting failed to join, and disconnected. :grumpy:

I like the idea of restricting the hotlap contest to the people who race. 👍

I will be honest, I would rather you set up the hotlap contest if you dont mind? Like I said, I struggle to find enough time to do as much as I want in an evening. 👍

 Dan.

No, not that late, sorry. Probably within 2-3 nearest hours.. :) When I see the activity rising here.. ;)

All the info is in the first post. It's 30 seconds.

Edit: DAMN I knew it! Again someone was faster. :P

Is this an international event?
On a side note, is there any way to tell if an event is international without having to look at where the drivers come from after starting a race?
