No it's not. Didn't you read the part of my post where I quoted EDK from this week's WRS? It clearly states the opposite of what you said.

you're not reading that it clearly states "beyond white boundary line" not "beyond kerbing" very different things.
and no offense. but I've done over 100 WRS events, so I'm pretty familiar with the standards... how many have you done?

#30 BigDawg (BigDawg030): ardent red / Dolomite Grey Pearl Effect

add me if you want...also according to the original post my car should have 264 HP and 560 PP but my car is off from that, 255 HP and 553 PP i started with the base tune is there something i'm missing?

the racing exhaust is not installed by default. check the box in your tuning screen.

I have had situations where another car bumps into me and I get an impact penalty! Its ridiculous.

That is true. I think it would help force people to give others room and that out weighs the possibility of an erroneous penalty. The corner cutting part is the part that is most important in this instance.

i did find that originally and it was lower after installing the racing exhaust so im still short am i missing and engine upgrade out of the 3 levels a turbo kit? maybe something that was missed in the original post? also im not going to make changes until i am sure they are correct!

It is almost impossible to go the whole race without having some contact between drivers. We can put the penalties ON for the qualifying, but for the race I dont think its such a good idea.

You need to put about 200 miles on the car. These miles must be run offline in any mode or online in race mode only.

Thank you i thought it might be that i had to buy a new elise because the other race modified car i had, had the 3 engine upgrades so this one i just bought...time to get racing!

You are taking things out of context... don't forget the all hard surface part, that is the important part that makes grass or walls the defining barrier. Besides, the point is the rules are stated.

As for the WRS, I only did the qualifier in GT5P to get Div1 Gold. But I read it every week, and have done so for several years.

Anyone run any laps on Le Sarthe yet? Care to share times?:sly:

I was able to pull a 4:13.5xx in free run last Sunday on a pretty good lap. It's hard to gauge the full potential of a lap there since it's so long but I think 12s are definitely do-able.

I think the place with the most time to gain time would be the combination sweepers starting at the Porsche curves. I'll post my tune up later but I'm able to get a good bite through there keeping the car steady around 120 mph.
With or without drafting and/or cutting corners?:D I've been getting a 4'21 lap in practice and I'll have to double-check the exhaust to see if that's been properly taken care of.

Well it looks like I won't be getting in the race this week either. Because I am not even close to those times. Don't know whats wrong I thought I was running pretty good. I know i'm not as fast as alot of you but not this much of a difference.:ouch::ill:
My sentiments exactly. Checked the Exhaust lately?

Sure, I can run that. I'll just cut right
through Ford Chicane and that will get me in the 4:12 range easily.
This weeks WRS isn't in the French countryside. The red paint has never been legal at Le Sarthe in WRS competition (it's also illegal in reality). It's always specifically excluded when racing there. Pavement beyond kerbing is also always illegal (the concrete slab before the first tunnel at deep forest is a great example).

Are people course cutting to get such low times?
Could someone record a questionably legal lap and put it on the you tubes so we can debate the lines?
I took part in a race a few weeks ago on the Weather and Time Change version of the La Sarthe '09 track and I saw some of the drivers do what you describe at Tetre Rouge and the Ford Chicanes. And the penalties were on as well. Maybe it's something PD can work on for a future update if someone were to post a video on YouTube and showed those bugs off?

i made a lap in free run it was just the first lap out of the box so it wasnt great since the tyres were cold ect ect but i did do the rough line i normaly do unless i make a mistake and run wide... ps i did on the last part of porsche curves near the end of the lap lol

but i think i lost time more than anything lap to come in 5-10mins.....

ps what veiw should i do it in the trailing cam?

ok good im doing that lol dont expect it to be good lol i enjoy my racing doesnt mean im good at it ;)

I wouldn't have a problem with that lap. There are two spots that others might have a problem with and that was Tertre where you were all the way outside the white line and at the end of the Porsche curves on the exit of the tight left hander on to the back straight.

theres it any pointers would be apreciated ;)
- I prefer being all to the right entering the Dunlop chicane. I make the entry very tight to the left so that I get a better exit and I don't end up going wide.
- Too slow entering the Esses. I once got the car to hold 100mph here but I would say 95mph would be a good target.
- More speed can be carried entering Tertre Rouge. Kinda tricky as every bit of track is needed and I'm not consistent here myself.
- You can carry more speed entering the first chicane. I would lay off the accelerator until you start turning. You'll exit much better.
- Entering Indianapolis, it may or may not help if you ease off the throttle ever so slightly. That seems to help me keep the car more composed for the tight left hander.
- You want to slow down the car gradually entering the Porsche curves instead of all at once. What I do is a touch of brake and then I scrub of speed using the wheel.
- At Maison Blanche, you'll want to hug the right side of the road before the left hander for the short straight. You'll likely have to lift a bit to do this but your exit will be much cleaner.

I'll get a Room up in a few minutes. My body decided to take a nap from 1 - 4:30 (which caused me to miss the WSGTC race), and after that, I got side-tracked by playing some GTA. ;x

About the track boundaries, We'll do it exactly like we did it for the Integras: Curbs and white lines are your boundaries. Two wheels must stay within the boundaries at all times. If the lap is dirty, you'll just simply get +5 seconds added to your time.

In the race, there will be some leeway, but please don't abuse it. You shouldn't be going wide unless you make a mistake. One thing I take pride in with this series is not being liberal with penalties, unlike some of the other series here. But if I, or someone else sees you abusing the boundaries constantly, I'll have no choice.

And I am going to throw my two cents worth in on the driving lines. You watch any touring car race or a V8 super car race and those drivers use any and every bit of paved road they can find. Especially the run off's.

Corner cutting is one thing but using the run off should be ok.

Normally, I don't have any problem with it, but Tetra Rouge is the exception. You can gain so much time by taking the turn flat out and using the Blue/Yellow area. I have to draw the line somewhere.

i do agree with you that "Touring Cars" in my case BTCC do se every bit of the road but at silverstone for eg they were all getting warnings for using too much run off at the first corner. but drivers will allways push the boundaries looking for that extra few tenths, its natural ;)

OFFICIAL FRIDAY QUALI ROOM:

I've cleared some space on my friends list, so please make sure you have me added. Anyone not on my friends list will be kicked.

am i just allowed to watch im gona qual tomorrow...

And in case I've forgotten to tell you guys, Quali will be a little bit different this weekend.

Everything will be mostly the same, except you only get 1 flying lap, so make it count.

He's fine in tertre rouge, the car stayed on the kerbs that's all good, the kerbs are the edge of the track. If it was intentional I'd consider the off in the porsche curves dirty, but that looked like an accident. Probably wouldn't fly in qualifying but in the race... mistakes happen.
Unless Mule is going to let us run wide there?? Its another one of those places where it's a big advantage though, since you can run flat out through there but you need to go wide.

btw... I need lots of track time, so if you're bored today: 1472-6118-3615-5259-0482

Can I just start 14th tomorrow? I'm drunk and don't feel like sobering up for qualifying tonight?

I am serious.

Or what if we just grid by reverse points? :)
