Good to see you cleared your camp :D You are getting the hang of it ;)

Checked my stats and I am around 40%. Getting a bit more up to speed with the main story because I want to collect the ultimate price

The Interceptor

@doblocruiser That looks a bad storm!! I haven't seen lightning strikes like that yet :bowdown:only orange sand storms and dark windy storms!..Is it me or do they last longer and longer and more frequent I seem to get one each time I log on now and they seem longer when before they didn't appear often.👍

They grow in intensity. That storm I got in yesterday was on the border of Gutlash/Pink Eye and it lasted for about 5 minutes. Lighting was very heavy and it ruined my car almost twice. Those storms carry some big "scrap" as well. I am not sure if their frequency has increased. It may depend on the territory you are working??? I think if I play for 2 hours that on average I encounter 1 or 2 storms. Not more.

That's what I was looking forward to hearing. Essentially this game is a new realisation of the game FUEL: an open world, post apocalyptic driving game with dynamic weather modelled after Motorstorm. Okay, back when FUEL came out they didn't have the expertise for frequencyfull /effect of these storms, with only one tornado in a main game race (never in free roam unfortunately) it looks like Mad Max though was designed with at least some of that love in mind.

EDIT: Seemed far scarier and intense at the time...but: ahh, the memories :D

@MeanElf I don't know how I missed this one, was it on Xbox 360 at the time? I think I was playing Pure, Dirt 2/3 and Forza 4 more back then. Those graphics and weather system still look good today

I may be very wrong, but it feels like the storm duration is more dependant on how far you travel rather than time... I tried to sit one out once and it seemed to take an age. Eventually I started moving (the scrap crates practically broke on my parked car so I decided to bother with them!) and then the storm ended a little while after I got moving around again... Glad you've seen the thunder storms as well now though, absolutely intense when trying to make it to a camp and the lightning is striking the ground close to you! :D

It was indeed on the 360 too but got hammered for online problems (Gamespy) Still a great SP campaign and lots of hours with fun exploration and trying to get up mountains or across very rugged terrain. It still has one of the biggest maps out there, bigger than The Crew. Game is really cheap now of course as it has no online anymore. Shame really, you can create massive tacks with pretty vile weather conditions and could use them online - alas, no more.

Anyway, back to MM. My work has copies for £16.99 and with extra staff discount, that'll come down to about £13.50 if I can snag a copy today and hold til Friday.

@MeanElf Haven't played FUEL myself but it certainly looks good and interesting. It was developped by Codies wasn't it?

Mad Max has hand to hand combat, exploring, car combat and a few story elements. If you dive in you will find yourself probably doing a lot, but really a lot of stuff. The map is big and stuff keeps popping up. It's one of those game where you can get hours of gameplay besides the main story line and not to forget hours and hours of photomode :D

It's a pretty underrated game but it's polished and a very well build game by Avalanche 👍

Codies produced and published it, Asobo Studios in France made it.

I guessed that Mad Max was a bit underrated considering the price drop - yet seeing the excellent pictures and hearing from you all about the fun things contained within, told me I'd enjoy it despite the lack of mass appeal ;) Frankly, I wonder about the so-called 'gaming community' out there that continues to favour the predictable over the richness available to us in so many of the games that try to bring something different.

Anyway - one way or another, I'll be getting this within a month (financial constraints still - but things are getting better 👍) though hopefully sooner than later, especially as I have next week off :D

a few from me, i havent sold it yet @torque99 kind of growing on me..:)

Great first shots @MeanElf :gtpflag:Initial thoughts on graphics, photomode and gameplay so far? ;) 👍 Or 👎
Cheers bro. Well, graphically it is great, photomode could be a bit easier, but there again, it's pretty superb once you get used to it.

Gameplay is good too, with a couple of exception moments such as trying to add to your fuel supply for the first time...bad glitch.

Overall though, very immersive and enjoyable. The combat is easy and feel rewarding, at many moments throughout I find myself caught out by the visuals and lighting. Probabky too soon to say for sure but great job overall.

Mr @MeanElf ....Same as my thoughts really and a few tips which you and @imported_rik19 have probably found now but I will put anyway for any late newbies like us :sly:, once you do a few refills, comes second nature. Don't forget you will need some of these cans to explode to get in to camps or doors so be careful how many you use on the first few missions after that you start finding plenty and get refuelled once you set up a fuel workshop in Jeets.👍

Fights are great and get bigger with more men & weapons you can throw exploding spears and fancy throw moves and as advised by Mr @doblocruiser use the triangle button as much as you can and use your bullets wisely to blast them, things I forget under pressure in a big brawl! :ouch:

You have probably found it as well but you don't have to go in to menu to use the photomode I like the easy press of the two sticks. Once you work out the DOF you can really free zoom to some marvellous places and height.

Lastly little tip, When I first started I found chase cam on the buggies/cars easier to learn the harpoon moves, but if you just want a nice cruise around when you have cleared an area then double tap quickly on the (down) D pad button to get the nice interior view and slightly different interior engine sounds I think as this wasn't too clear in game and I only came across it by chance.

Enjoy..Look forward to more pics

Nice tip - I will definitely be exploring it now that I have a body for my Magnus Opus (not got very far yet, as you can see). I've only managed to pick up two shotty shells so far and fired one off by mistake, luckily killing an opponent as I was getting out :dopey: I will definitely remember to use the block at the start of each attack, as in combo that seems to work nicely - and dodging too.

Thanks for the tips - always useful: more pictures to follow later (did a few last night, but not enough really for an upload.)

More from last night and this morning.

Thanks Mr @torque99 I could see it building with the heavy clouds coming in and so the anticipation was as much fun as the storm itself. Looking forward to more later on...

How close did you get to that sniper?

EDIT: As Mrs Elf is playing this game too and is predictably far further ahead than myself - I saw one of the Jeet's territory storms earlier - that looked like a lot of scary fun with lightning strikes and very bad visibility.
