if that wave hit our country directly, we'd probably be wiped off the map, literally.

Seriously? Is that necessary?People have died and more will die before this is over and you're trying to make jokes?Wow,just wow.
Please point out the joke then, as it seemed like a legitimate question to everyone else.Seriously? Is that necessary?People have died and more will die before this is over and you're trying to make jokes?Wow,just wow.
Just saw some live footage from Kesennuma City... it wasn't clear, and I couldn't make out the scale, but it looked quite unbelievable... fires everywhere, and if it was on the scale that it looked like, it's like nothing I've ever seen before
It was a mere question. My sympathy goes out to those involved and affected but msnbc thought it necessary to show this image on their front page to lend images to the horror we are all hearing about.
Just because i didn't express my sympathy in a forum doesn't mean I am joking.
Apologies. Just curious.

1528: An update now on the nuclear power station in Japan at the centre of a huge evacuation order: Officials have said the reactor cooling system that failed after the quake at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant is expected to return to normal soon, according to the Jiji Press news agency. Thousands of residents were evacuated as a precaution.
I would like to hear more news about the nuclear issues than anything else right now to be honest, really frightening.
Just one question: Has Tokio been hit by the tsunami?
Crazy stuff... news is saying now that the coolers on a nuclear plant broke from the tsunami and if they dont get restored in time the fuel could melt.. don't know how credible it is this early but.. damn. :S
I'm just waiting to see if the tsunami is gonna hit my home town. The first wave just hit, and no I dont know whats going on.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12307698Meanwhile, the World Nuclear Association has said it understands the situation at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant is "under control", and that water is now being pumped into its cooling system. The Japanese government earlier declared an emergency as a precaution and evacuated people living nearby, after there was a malfunction and the water level began to fall. A WNA analyst said the back-up battery power system was now online.

Looking at the live images now. Scary footage of some kind of giant whirlpool at the coast. There is a little boat being sucked to the center of it. Hopefully that boat is empty. Forces of nature are incredible.
My thoughts go out to all Japanese people.
