Fried is a beast and he helps the Yankees. They still need a 3rd baseman and maybe a closer.
As far as the Mets wining a chip they have to get by the Dodgers. They played them tough last year and Soto will definitely help them so we'll see. I will go on record and say they will probably win before my Yankees. I said it. The Yankees ain't the Yankees anymore. They have a talented group of players but that's all they are. Everything was set up for them to win the WS in that the Astros & Orioles were beaten. They don't do the little things that win games. They make dumb mistakes at the worst time. Boone makes boneheaded decisions at the worst time. But they are fine with that. Championships are won on the margins the difference between the top teams in terms of talent is not that big but the team that can execute the best wins the chip. Don't get me wrong Hal Steinbrenner will spend money up to a point but he is satisfied with winning but not winning championships. Sorry for the rant but it is frustrating to see the Yankees not care about about winning championships

Kyle Tucker is no longer a Houston Astro. "King Tuck" has been traded to the Chicago Cubs for three different players, per reports. Houston will get in return IF Isaac Paredes, P Hayden Wesenski, and 3B Cam Smith. My biggest memories of Kyle Tucker: hitting a go-ahead (and later winning) Grand Slam at the Baltimore Orioles, and of course- catching the fly ball in Game 6 of the 2022 World Series to give the Astros their second-ever Championship. Sad seeing Kyle Tucker move on... :(

Per reports, the Houston Astros signed 1B Christian Walker to a 3-year, $60M USD deal. Christian Walker comes over from the Arizona Diamondbacks. He is a three-time NL Gold Glove winner.

Meanwhile the Yankees go cheap with 37yo Paul Goldschmidt coming off pretty much the worst season of his career, and will likely add 3 years of replacement level Nolan Arenado.

Signing cheap or broken vets hoping for a dead cat bounce, it’s the Brian Cashman way. I give up with this joke of a team.

I saw two different highlight videos on two new Astros.

Christian Walker has some power in his swings. Christian Walker comes to the Houston Astros from the Arizona Diamondbacks. Astros fans are going to miss Alex Bregman.

The Astros also picked up Isaac Paredes. He comes over from the Tampa Bay Rays and the Chicago Cubs. I don't think Paredes is a power hitter, but he can bomb some balls. Give him a pitch he likes, and he might jack the ball out of the park.

The only real concern(s) the Houston Astros still have to fill out is to find some good outfielders and some good defenders. Maybe some extra pitching help is also on their list. These pickups should help give the team perhaps some more offensive consistency.

I think you'll be happy with those 2. Paredes is ideally suited to your ballpark, he could very easily hit 30-40 HRs this coming season. Tucker is the better allround player, but if he was going to leave next year as a free agent this is a good return and better than a draft pick. Walker is also one of those good defenders you're after, in fact he's the very best around at his position, truly elite.
