Makeshift Shuffle - No Tuning RacesOpen

Is there a possibility that PD has put in differing pit times to simulate different pit crews taking longer/ shorter, if PD did something like this I'm sure they would find a way to screw it up and have people taking too long to pit.
I kinda doubt it. I mean, I'm pretty sure it's only supposed to really simulate the driving, and that the pit crew speed should only be determined based on how long they take to change the tires plus the amount of time taken to add the requested fuel. I've gone into the pit behind someone, and left earlier before several times, but I always attributed it to requesting only enough fuel to finish the race with only one liter of fuel remaining, instead of using the recommended amount. Then, there have been times when I used the recommended amount, b/c I felt unsure about the car's fuel economy, and I pulled out right behind the car in front of me. I'm pretty sure it all depends entirely on the amount of fuel you request. I'm sure our pit times were about the same.

What I was saying was that the time I spent driving slower into the pit cost me a lot of time, since there was clearly no penalty for you guys. I usually try to pull in to the pit right behind someone when I'm not leading, so that I have someone to draft on the way out. I just lost track of how many laps we had done at the time, and wasn't ready to jump into pit road right behind amar, so I got in on the next lap. My pacing probably suffered a bit, as I had mostly just been shadowing amar as much as I could to keep up until that point. Oh well. I still had a good time. I'm just not that good with FF cars. My best lap was on the 22nd lap. Sure, my car was a bit lighter by then, but I'm pretty sure my tires were a bit worn as well, so I should have been able to go a bit faster earlier on.

Uh oh, my memory tricked me when limericking, i kinda mixed the last two races... :ouch: but i resort to artistic freedom. :P

Great races, thanks for coming!

About racing today: my wisdom theeth are killing me right now, i don't think i can make it today.:ouch:
Have fun! 👍

Sorry to hear that @tarnheld , I know how painful that can be. I had to have all of mine removed together (plus an adjacent molar!) a couple years ago -- they were impacted and beginning to fall apart. :x Had to get put under for that one. Took a while to heal up after that... on the plus side, the painkillers were excellent. :D

Today's Racing! Since network issues shut us down last week, I've simply revised last week's schedule a little bit:

Well, when we weren't getting d/c'ed, having rooms explode, or not being able to see each other, it was good racing. Thanks for coming folks, and thanks for sticking it out -- and those who gave up, I totally understand. If I wasn't hosting I would have thrown in the towel too!

Seriously, that was one of the worst sessions for network issues thus far. :C If PD could fix all that, I would be happy even if they dropped the ball on the other missing things.

Other missing things? You mean like shuffle mode? Even if they brought shuffle mode back, unless they actually took the time to improve it, instead of basing it entirely around the pp, then we'd still have a better system. There were so many times in GT5 that I ended up with a classic Camaro, and would have won around the Nordschliefe if it weren't for the fact that I topped out at 112, while nearly every other car topped out around 160ish. I could still hold the lead in the technical portions, but once I got into a high-speed section I got destroyed.

Oh man, I forgot all about Course Maker. My other friends and I had such good times with shared courses. We would race prototype Le Mans cars on this one called Happy Landings. You basically had to tune your aerodynamics to make the car stable in flight, and then deal with the corners entirely through driving technique to have any hope of winning. That was good fun.

If anyone wants to do some makeshift shuffle on Monday or Tuesday, I'm game.

I leave for my next track event in New Jersey right before we start on Wednesday, and I get back late Friday night, so I'll miss those two events. I should make the following Wednesday, but will miss Track Day for... another track day. ;-)

@terrordog1490 yeah I was mainly thinking of the Course Maker, I never played GT5 online so I have no attachment to shuffle mode. :P

Anyway I was thinking of doing some shuffle surprise today, but I've got some things to do, so I can't. :| I'll get the Sunday results up when I get back to my computer.

Also I just realized that I haven't come up with the next Series' schedule, oops. I'll whip that up tonight.

Lists used for Series 27 will be Luxury, Limbo Stick, and Classics.

I am guessing Course Maker. I personally have given up expecting anything. I will be happily surprised if something appears some day but not holding my breath :)

I kinda want to see the last few winners of the Gran Turismo Trophy. Like this Maserati... I love those and the Gran Turismo Awards tuned cars :)

I have given up completely when it come to any form of DLC stuff from GT/PD. They just don't seem to know how to do it right... or rather in a way that gets people really excited! Fair play to them though for not charging us for any of the update/dlc's but they have never been the kind that really impresses!
i'm talking car/track packs etc, they made a better attempt in GT5.

So for me, I would rather look to the future of the GT series, and what GT7 will hold! PD have a good history of really pushing the machine, so I'm more excited to see what they can do with 7. Lets just hope they can put a package together that holds some new ideas!

Got sidetracked with things yesterday and didn't get around to organizing results or schedules. :indiff:

Anyway, here's today's plans:

I'm going to try and make tomorrow race.

Getting back into GT after a long absence because of work...life...and some other things. I'll have to check the car lists to make sure I have everything I need but should be good by the end of the week or so to start racing again and represent the back of the grid.

Some good racing today. I decided to make a highlights video for the Vintage 10-15 race. I'm not sure how interesting a 20 minute race would be to watch on YouTube. Also, I don't have any effective means to record other than with my phone, so I'm not sure I could hold a rigid position, like I need to to reduce camera shake, long enough to get the whole thing. I'll have it up sometime tonight or tomorrow morning (EDT), and then I'll post it here after I get to see if it uploaded right and everything.

Good times, hope you like the format! @John Wells and @Torzilla had bad luck with the blocks this time as you see in the video, sorry for that.:ouch: But this block easter egg always makes me smile -- kudos to PD for that. :D I hope you agree that this is as much about the fun as it is about racing, so i hope these sort of quirks doesn't spoil the racing experience too much. Same goes for the snow race, i hope the curiosity for something unusual weighs up the inevitable dirtier racing included.

Today's Parity races:

I'll open the room a little early, in about half an hour, for practice and testing. I also need to confirm some lap times to set lap counts.

Also, apologies for being so laggardly in posting results and so forth, I've been a bit busy and most of my GT time lately has been spent on other series.
