Makeshift Shuffle - No Tuning RacesOpen

Personally I find them totally undriveable at anything over 50% surface water. Braking (especially w/o magical brake assist) is an absolute nightmare. I can keep it on track, but that's about it, even with an AWD drivetrain. CS make a significant difference in driveability.

Even SS are pretty much rubbish at 60% surface water and above.

Prize picks!

@LongbowX

One (1) car list & track combo for a Parity Race (long track or heavy damage variety).
One (1) car list & track combo for a standard shuffle mixer race.

@Cu3e

Two (2) car list & track combos for shuffle mixer races.

@tarnheld

One (1) car list & track combo for a shuffle mixer race.

Also, I still have some prize picks as yet unchosen from previous series:

@LongbowX
Two (2) car list & track combos for Parity Races.
Three (3) car list & track combos for standard shuffle mixer races.

@terrordog1490
One (1) car list & track combo for a standard shuffle mixer race.

(I know LB isn't always a big fan of choosing things, so if he wants too he can throw those prize picks open to general choice. :3)

That is exceedingly impressive I have to say.

I actually did some track picks, feel free to veto. :lol:

Regular Shuffle Races:

Big Willow - Track Day
Indy Road Course - Performance
Red Bull Ring Short - Hot Hatch
GT Arena - Limbo Stick

Parity:

Trial Mountain - Classics
Grand Valley Speedway - Track Day
Matterhorn Rifflesee - Performance

itshappening.gif! The Course Make has arrived! Make sure to update in time, might be too late to do this 10min before today's races...

We might use a user created track already for Friday's Track(s) Day, stay tuned for the details! :D

EDIT: bummer, got carried away, seems like you can only use one user created track in a race room, and not change it while the room exists... :dunce::rolleyes:

Hey guys,

I'm still observing what's goin on in the club even though I don't find the time to join events anymore. My interest in GT6 hasn't decreased neither.

I was so happy when I read the news of new Course Maker this morning but somehow I was reading over the fact it's only available to tablets. :banghead: I was just realizing that it won't work with my smartphone. :irked: This sucks pretty much! I neither have a tablet nor actually need one. And I won't buy one just for the app. :grumpy:

I'm a bit hopeful that PD will bring a smartphone or PC Windows version in the future. If not there might be the last chance of trying an Android Emulator for Windows. 💡 Some other guy posted that idea in a forum but I'm not sure this would work with the offered app. :odd: Maybe some guys with more detailed computer knowledge, like maybe @tarnheld, know better on this stuff??? :confused:

Actually the most comfortable way to create tracks would be with a mouse. I still don't get it why there's only Android or iOS tablet versions available for now.:ouch:

Let's hope improvement is on the way.

Shh, you might wake up @amarynceos, it's almost 10:00AM in Oregon. :sly:

Here is the schedule for today he posted a while back: 👍

I tried the BlueStacks emulator, but it's not clear what kind of android devices are supported, i can't install the Track Path Editor there. Hmm, have to check if anyone on GTplanet got this to work on Android... BTW, the editor works like a charm on Ipad, but i have to fiddle with it a little more...

Bleargh, sorry folks, I just woke up and I'm still feeling under the weather (I've been sick for the past few days). I'm going back to bed.

Apologies for the late notice, :( I'd hoped to feel better today!

Cheers, see y'all on Friday or Sunday.

I made a few quick track on my iPad but get "failed transfer" error trying to upload them...

Oh well. Have to try this some time later...

I might miss our races until sunday again. Laterz!

For everyone without a tablet but with an Android (4.1+) smartphone:

Here a German (cool guys :cool::crazy:) user offered a link where u can download the apk file for the GT6 Track Path Editor manually. That way you can evade those annoying tablet restrictions in Google Play Store. 👍

It works fine on my Samsung S3 Mini (Android 4.1.2). Of course the 4'' screen is not really comfortable but the app has zoom so with a bit more effort I'm also able to create tracks now. :)

I'm looking forward to share tracks in the future. :cheers:
Probably I will start with trying to rebuild Sepang International Circuit in Malyasia.;)

I just finished creating 2 circuits on my smartphone:

1. Sepang International Circuit
2. Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello

I'm quite happy with the layout of both tracks, the overall lengths got pretty close to the originals (about 200-300 m longer).👍

This is my procedure for re-creating original circuits:

I search the track on Google Earth and zoom in so that the track fits the screen tightly.
Then I make a screenshot of the aerial image which also includes a scale on the lower right side.
In the app as a first step I zoom in so that the scale line shows the same number like my aerial image.
Then I load this aerial image.
Before fixing the home straight I increase or decrease the image so that both scale lines are same size (number is the same too).
Once the image has the correct size I adjust the home straight so that it's laying directly above the image home straight.
From that point I just follow the corners and straights from the aerial image. There are some restrictions so the very tight corners can't be rebuild detailed. It's some kind of fiddling to get the best result possible.
Next step I put the curbs to where they are situated at the real circuit.

The result is a track with almost the same layout as the original though there might be differences concidering altitude.

Theres one major problem left: :confused:
Only small sectors are available to place items there. Most of the track is dark grey coloured. Even if I don't reduce radius most parts are not selectable for items. Also less track width doesn't really change this effect.

Anyone recognized this too? Maybe someone has an idea to solve it?

Two great circuts:tup:

1. Sepang International Circuit
2. Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello

Been round both on MotoGp games.

Oschersleben, also on Racedriver Grid:dopey:

I tried a few tracks, funny that there is a church on Sepang, Malaysia. ;) While they are all nice, i bothers me that meter marks are missing making braking judgement difficult.

So in order to take it easy and not flying off everytime in the races, why not use one of the sample tracks for Friday? I think we will be able to use one track at the begin of the session, we can switch to another one, but no user track.

The non-flat Eifel track is not too long, has some sweet undulations and is easy to learn. The Death Valley track is also nice, but it has those invisible walls next to the track. What do you think? Do you have a favorite already?

I like Death Valley based on the name alone.

That is absolutely correct and a fact that bothers me aswell. :irked: This is an important feature missing at the moment!
There are those huge corner signs right behind the guardrails that help a little compensating that. Since I placed the curbs true to the original this helps a little with anticipating turns aswell. I tried some other tracks where the curbs have been missing and it felt terrible. In my opinion curb positioning is pretty important when it comes to rebuilding orginal circuits.

Anyone interested can save the tracks from my community profile.

I will try to rebuild some other tracks without having to use Eifel flat as the scenery. I'm hoping that I might be able to create the more correct altitude values. Also some south european circuits might fit the Andalusian scenery better. But without using an image of the track as a background it will be quite more difficult, might need some preparation including the capturing of detailed track data first.

This is really funny, I didn't notice that on my first tests. :lol: Actually it might be impossible to recreate the true scenery of south asian tracks (with palms etc.). :boggled:

Anyways, have fun guys with racing.👍

Cancel your Yoga courses, today it's time for

Makeshift Shuffle Track Day!

We'll start off with a magic mystery track, most likely the Death Valley or Eiffel sample track! :cool: Then we'll proceed to more familiar tracks according to racers vote. If you found an absolutely amazing and awesome user-generated track please let me know beforehand as it seems i can only load one user track at room creation time. 👍

Mandatory car lists are here, but you can vote for and bring any list you like, we'll sort things out in the room lobby.
