Makeshift Shuffle - No Tuning RacesOpen

Yeah, that's why I'm thinking maybe I should just use AT w/ the Luxury cars... since I'm not great at shifting to begin with, and at least 2 cars in the Luxury list, when I was testing them, had inaudible shifting cues. :nervous:
I've tested a huge amount of cars recently, and I've come across this with a few cars now.
I'd actually ruled out the Daihatsu OFC-1 from the Low Power list, mainly because of the inaudible shifting cues. 👎
re the Diahatsu OFC-1 (and Copen) these two cars are so torquey and have such high redlines you really need to shift them well before redline (as much as 2-3,000 rpm early)

TESTING FOR NEW LISTS

For those who haven't been involved in testing yet... the testing takes place in the Time Trials thread...
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/time-trial-testing-mixer-makeshift-shuffle.295260/

I'm thinking we might have the best chance of getting the TRAFFIC list up & running soon, as it includes 6 cars from the original Commuter cars list we ran at the beginning of this. So many here will already have some of the cars. Also, many already come on Comfort Softs, so there won't be a lot of tire buying needed.
If you haven't bought any of them already... the cost would be slightly under 900,000 cr. with oil changes.
If you already have the Commuter cars list - & changed the oil on them already... the cost will be under 800,000 cr. with oil changes on the ones you need to buy.

If you have the time, credits, & interest to test all these cars...
I will accept times that are run with only the aids allowed in this series...

Online, or offline - but if it's offline you should specify.

I will also accept "grinding" times, in a career race that allows all the cars, and all the cars are run through on the same track, and give the "total race time" for each.
For example, National B Clubman Cup (Silverstone National, Autumn Ring, & another track)... if you run 16 cars through that, and win all the races, you'll make about 250,000 cr. (with 200% log bonus) (Not the best grind, for sure, but you'll be helping to test, while earning credits at least, and these races will only take a few minutes each.)

I have 2 sets of times already - on Deep Forest & Tskuba, by 2 different drivers.
It seems that it's best when I get at least 3-4 different tracks with at least 3-4 different drivers, with at least 7 sets of times altogether. I need that much varied data before it becomes obvious how the cars should be arranged (by average speed) on the list. In previous list testing, by 6 sets of times, the cars are not changing positions much, and I can be confident I'm not sticking the podiums in more capable cars, & not giving bummers to those who finished at the back of the grid.

I like how you are showing the purchase price for the cars we need to test.👍

Hmmmm... that Land Rover is a little pricey!

Off for some more credit mining for me!;)

@GTsail290 yes, the Land Rover is kind of pricey. :odd:
But it was so funny in gt5 shuffle, that I thought it would spice up the traffic. ;)
The rest of the cars on the list are actually pretty reasonable, relatively speaking.
And yeah, it's good to be up front about the cost, so anyone running low on credits can judge what's needed to get them all.

@watermelonpunch

It's an issue whether ABS is on or off; no matter what, BB is basically stuck at 10/10. My main point is that, alas, until this gets fixed, brake balance is not something we can use to alter a car's balance/handling online. :irked: @Handlebar thanks for the test -- shows that even if there is some difference between 10/10 and 0/0, it is nowhere near what it 'should' be.

Regarding AT cars, I only realized last night that the two I was having problems with while downshifting due to inaudible engines (S-Type R and SL 55) were actually automatics. (Off topic, but I accidently found that neither of their throttles close completely. Last lap of the night, I did what I often do and stand on the brakes hard across the finishing line, with the S-Type. To my surprise, instead of peaceably idling in stillness, the Jag started moving all on its own. This was at Autumn Ring, and I actually completed an entire lap without touching the gas once! o_O; /OT )

Also, fully fully second @KingKlingeling regarding turn one at the Rifflesee. Missed my braking point by only a car length or so one lap, and if it weren't for invisible walls I would have flown off the mountain. :scared: Lock up, skitter skitter, fly over crest, BANG.

Didn't know one could roll at the last corner. Clearly I'm not pushing hard enough, then.

I just gave that 135i a test run at riffelsee to be prepared :D
first corner will be a destruction derby :lol::lol: we need to be very very careful there 👍
and it took me 5 try's to get the last corner without flipping the car , we'll see some great photomodes from the 135i 's exhaust system this evening , I guess
see you in a few hours:gtpflag:

You can blame @LongbowX I believe for the inclusion of this track.
He's the one who suggested I think.

I just did a practice race in the 135i @ Rifflesee in the career race Gromegrat (sp?)...

I got the "high flyer" trophy. :scared:

Also, my light pink 135i looked like it had been in a fire. :odd: :nervous:

Thanks for everything watermelon. That was a lot of fun. The luxury cars are tricky but its really fun. I feel like I may not have been my cleanest today though feel free to take off as many points as you think I deserve.

I agree with daddy, it was very fun but I had some problems controlling these cars and might have caused some incidents. Hard to say when and where, you'll have to see if anyone reports it. :P

The Chrysler 300 must have a very attractive back end cause people kept running into the back of it.

Yeah sorry cc. I must have rear ended you like 3. Times within the first 2 minutes of nurburgring . Also there was a time where I slammed cc on nurburgring. He was reentering the track and I thought he lost control but when I hit him I turned him backwards. I didn't give up the spot because I didn't really think I was at fault. I would like someone to review this. If it was my fault please give me a post race concession to cc. On another note cc and I had quite a few exciting battles today and it was quite the pleasure to race with you cc

You were ok there I had already been taken out by someone else. I kept getting hit from behind when I was at full throttle.
I like the car though.

I was too quick to judge the 300c to be honest. It's not bad. I'm not a fan of its gearbox though. It seems to dog down when you shift

I never got to try the mythical 300c. :( By the way.. just a question since I'm not a native english speaker.. I've always thought it was bog down, not dog down.. have I got it wrong or did daddy just make an error? ^^

Well I'm pretty sure it is bog down but I think sometimes I use the term dog down and I don't know why. I mean the same as bog down and I'm pretty sure most people say bog down as well.

Ah, you shouldn't confuse me by making up your own expressions ;) (also just realised what's in your picture.. never looked closely but could never make any sense of it when seeing it while scrolling through posts :P )

Okay bog dogs.

The bad news... My Mon-Fri schedule will be changing in a couple of weeks.
I will not be able to make this one:
Thursday 13 February 2014
19:00 UTC (GMT Zulu time)
But that doesn't mean someone else can't take up the hosting & have the event all the same.

And after that, it's unclear what my schedule might be, though I should be off on weekends for the foreseeable future. ^^

:)

I'm sure could run the lobbies but are we going to have to move events around if your real life schedule interferes with more race days?

He didnt specify anyone ryzno. Unless you can tell he was talking about you don't just assume he was talking about you.
Me and him were running a little hot togeather at times and I admit I gave him a few taps.
Rubbins racing. I dont think I pushed him off track, we were both driving hard and sliding. If wm feels I deserve peneltys so be it.
