Now I'm a bit frustrated that I can't join races this week.:banghead:

This event sound's wonderful as I sometimes had thought that races might be a bit longer here and there.

Well, it only remains for me to wish you all fun in the races today.

It is to cold for me to go outside so this is great!:D
I relate. It's way way way too cold here.
At midnight last night it said -9°F for the outside thermometer. (That's -23°C)
:nervous: :nervous: :nervous:
It's now 7°F (-14°C).
It's cold inside my house too because my furnace has stopped working :grumpy:
đź‘Ž :nervous: đź‘Ž
I really hope it's not 7°F where you are. :(:scared: You'll turn into a popsicle.

I'm sure there's a lot of work in the NE US this week for furnace repair people!
The weather report says that it's not going to rise above freezing here until Sunday!!

count me in :-)
Welcome. đź‘Ť
It will be held in the club lobby.
(As opposed to the "event"... We mainly use the events for schedule/sign-up purposes.)

I'll likely open up a half hour early for warm-up practices.

Look at this, is that a snowflake? :odd:

So hoping more people show up and provide more points for me to have a chance to catch up! đź’ˇ

I'm talking to you... :D

Been away from home and then caught a bad flu. PS3 has been only a dvd player last week or so... Maybe this weekend I can join again.

I feel so slow lately, is it possible I am getting worse?
I more than felt slow Europa. I was slow... like 10 seconds off the best time posted. :boggled:

I know I don't know that track very well, but really. :ill:
I'm going to have to watch the replay to see what I was doing wrong all around the track.

I can kind of relate to that feeling, the last race pretty much destroyed any feeling I had of having decent speed. :embarrassed:

Similarly here at Nurburgring, I'm used to being 1-2 seconds off the pace of aliens, but nearly three is hard to swallow. Hopefully I can steal some of Snow's lines!

@amarynceos
Well I was particularly disappointed in myself for the last race.
First that positively pooper move of sliding into you in Lap 1 :guilty:... causing a need for 2 pit stops. SORRY.
And then later on I came over tired & hot. So I pretty much bungled it all. I could've done better there, in that car, at least I know that much.
But at Brands Hatch... I must've been just lollygagging in all the wrong places.:dopey:

 Yeah, we could have both done with one less pit stop. I'm assuming it hurt your car too? I probably could have kept going, but I'm not too good at dealing with the wheel cocked over 15° or so. :dopey:

It didn't affect my result much if at all, I just couldn't match the lap times of Snow and Jammy. Even with all the time I've been spending on that particular track, with that type of car, too. :dunce:

At Brands... well, I imagine the Europa is really tricky with a controller. I had to use a lot of brake and throttle overlap to keep it steady through the sweepers. Also, Brands is tough (for me) with MRs... several turns (like Paddock, entry to Druids, Dingle Dell) almost feel designed to upset MR cars.

Don't underestimate the fear factor, after i caused a near-desaster at T1/Paddock Hill in the first lap i was too afraid and babied the car around the track. Consistent but slow, just did that one nice slide into the void at Druids to entertain @jammy21. :dunce:

But it was a cool combo. :D:tup:

Yeah BH was best race for fun factor. I did sideway and spun T1 with little help from wild_chid (little tap to my rear). That was just my mistake and apology to wild_child to took him with me to grass.
Tsubuka was very much close racing.
Nurburgring was also fun - me 1stopper and snow 2 stopper.
Thanks to @watermelon punch for invitation đź‘Ť

Had a decent race 1. Who knew overtaking would be so difficult in these cars? Very short braking zones meant you couldn't really outbrake anyone and the slipstream doesn't really come into play at such low speeds. Was in 2nd when I managed to close the gap to Wild Child at about the half-way point and thought I'd come in, so I could maybe get ahead after the stop with some luck. The gap was at 0.3s when I came in. When Wild Child came out of the pits, it was 2.0s. As we were lapping within 1 or 2 tenths up and down, somehow my pitstop must have taken longer. It finished with 1.8s.

I was just too slow in race 2 in the Lotus. I was leading early on, but then I saw the best lap of 47.7 and I was about 1-1.5s off the pace, and I think I must have lost most of the time in the right-handers after the back-straight. Especially the 2nd and 3rd of these are a bit different than the current BH layout and I never felt comfortable with where exactly to brake and how much to cut those corners. There's a lot of time in there. Feels like I could only have gained fractions in the other corners. Got 2nd handed to me because of tacom/wild_child's lagging (I saw tacom's car suddenly appearing about 2s ahead of me when he actually was something like 10s ahead).

I must have had a small black-out when I was thinking about race strategy for race 3, because I ran 2 laps before the race, saw that I had used almost 25% of the fuel, and drew the conclusion that I couldn't finish the race with 1 stop. :odd: If you see something wrong with that, you're the healthy one. Anyway, I realised I had gotten it wrong as soon as I sat in the pits the first time. I knew I couldn't go 8 laps on those tyres though, so I would have to push for the rest of the race. 25s down after stop #1, the next 2 laps were the best mismatch I would get with Jammy's tyres on lap 5&6 and mine brand new. I really made up a lot of time in those laps, but then progress stopped as Jammy was on fresh tyres with mine starting to fade a little. After stop #2 I came out with a gap of a little over 10s, but only managed to narrow it down to 3s+. There was just no way that strategy could have worked. Was fun trying though! :)

thank you all for the severe beating you laid down on me :-)
impressive driving up front.
while I benefited from pitstops in race 1 and then went into trulli mode I managed to not come deadlast.

sorry about the start stall at race two !

race three I.couldn't keep the sm tires alive, I guess drifting on every corner will do that :-) so I pitted after 4 laps hoping the SH would last longer. talk about strategic failure. best lap on the SH was 4 seconds slower than slowest lap inn SM so there would have been time for an additional pitstop and a cappuccino ;-)

nonetheless, great racing and I'll be watching those replays and see if an old dog can be taught a new trick.

Does that play into the shuffle today? As in I start in #6, not in #3?

Yep, today is parity racing! So everybody races in their parity assignment car. You can choose between #6 and #5, though. Don't worry, if it's the wrong car for you, it will be adjusted in the next race. So just have fun! :D

Just an FYI

The Retro List has been posted in the OP (post #1).
Also - the revamped Legends List.
(some cars added, some cars cut)

Also, I'm adding fresh links to "car info" for each list.
These are to a spreadsheet where you can see the car info we've gathered. (Like does it hit the limiter, the cost to purchase, the PP after oil change.)
You can sort these by individual lists, or go to the spreadsheet Car Info, and you can sort the whole thing by car name (manufacturer).

Hoping that this will make new member shopping, and existing member car organizing, easier & more efficient. đź‘Ť
