I second this! I spent almost two hours and 60 laps, but I made it with a 1:32.075. I know it's nothing special compared to the top times, but I still feel like a boss nevertheless! It was a good challenge - it feels good to accomplish the stated goal.

I'm glad this challenge was actually a bit of a challenge. Took me around 5 laps to match his time. Probably another 10 to beat his time. The hardest part for me was trying to find my braking zone for turn 1, and keeping the backend in check on the oval turns.
I managed to get a 1:31.8XX with no aids and sim steering, I reckon I could knock 1-2 sec with normal steering.

Thanks to T10 and Montoya for this! it's not everyday you can say your faster than an ex-F1 driver / NASCAR driver who's won in both series.

Now hopefully Montoya tries to improve his laptime.

Finally gave this a go. Ran a 1:32.056 with no aids and sim steering. I know I can knock off close to a full second still. Going to have to keep my eye on Mr. Juan Pablo Montoya.

Ah, the Facebook app returns...

...and it still shows the wrong times! Frustrating, since Montoya's set a 1:32.117, and my best right now is a 1:32.083. Yet the app says a .285 is my best. Guess I'll have to run into the 31's just to be safe.

That ZR1 is a handful. Are you running with out traction control or other assists? I ran it without them and if you are too, what worked for me was very light throttle and early braking. Early braking is key to getting a jump on earlier acceleration which is extremely helpful when cutting down lap times on this track. And I made sure the car was stable before I gave it any power. Any wheel slip is lost time too. I lapped it maybe a half dozen times before I got the technique down for this track with the car. I ended up with a 1:31.7xx.

So guys, is TCS on the stock ZR1 necessary like the P1 cars? I'm okay at throttle control, but if it slides in like, 4th gear I'm just gonna use TCS.

For me, it was difficult to keep from losing traction. I would say I am decent at keeping the throttle steady but I don't know how we stack up as racers. It is easier to use as laps go on so don't let the first lap throw odd your judgement.

2nd and 3rd gear is your friend around the corners.. go gently and don't overheat the tyres. follow his line for a lap or two then get a good run on the straight out brake him without lockup and off you go..

I think you have to manually find the time from the leader board by scrolling through until you get there, then click on his name and set him as a rival.

I have him on my favorites, get into my storefront (let me know if you can't because I don't really have anything on there I think) and look at my favorites, he's the only favorite I have right now. Just add him to your own favorites.

I was struggling to get 1.34, the track is just horrible IMO. So then i thought what the hell set the number 1 time as rival and see where they go.................. then i pulled in a low 1.32 lap!?

Just hate this track though. Glad to see the back of it.

Man I hate this event so far.

When I first started i got like, 1:33.xxx on the third lap, and I thought "Oh hey, I might have a chance!"

20 laps later I haven't beaten that time
