Hey Jim, your comment did not come across in the wrong way, I remembered the incident when it happened as I use rear view a lot and when you mentioned the above I thought it would be a good chance to mess with the replay and take the photo mode into the video. More of a messing about excersise really.

Great racing as always and I agree with your comments about a great group of us. I have had more fun this week online than I have in a long time.

Deano33 was racing with clutch and I gave it a bash last night as well. Respect value has gone up immensly for him after trying that SHOCKING method out... I soon went back to the paddles!!!

👍

The clutch is awesome mate - i think a little quicker when you get it all hooked up correctly because you can really use it to load the car. Check out this video of ChiilCoke and you'll see how we have to completely get off the gas when shifting or you get neutral!

Enjoy!

jimantonic I have finally found a group of decent like-minded guys to race with “WHAT” :grumpy:

Komp I was just playing with you. And we’ll have a little less of this carry on thanks you. :embarrassed:

Keep it on the track

Phillip.

:nervous: :)

Raced last night in one of the mini sessions, was really gutted at first at losing in dead last place but soon realized that I hadn't changed my tyres! No wonder I was losing 20 second a lap haha. After switching to a more grippy set I was happy to at least fall nearer the middle of the pack. Really enjoyed it and will be back for more whenever the tv isn't being commandered by the mrs!

After enjoying last nights racing so much, I decided to have a look at the replays, and try my old capture card again that I used to make Forza replays with. Its only a £20 USB jobby, so wont be in the same league as komp's vids, and this is a bit of indulgence really, as I dont move the camera from me, but it does show some great close racing from us last night.

I think those vids are perfectly acceptable Mr-Ch1p, nice one :)

It really was close bunched up racing which helps add that extra element of pressure to the game. Sometimes I feel like I am brow sweating LOL.

Was browsing through thread wasn't reading everything but I think WWR-basher mentioned party chat iirc. (sorry since maintenance been b-speccing and watching movies! ) Well has anyone opened a chat room (txt only) in xmb yet?

Although i wouldnt mind Players joining from other Countries i dont think it would be a good idea, as it would more than likely cause major lag,it started getting a bit laggy last night just with the British..
I know i dont really have the right to say what goes on in here as im new,but thats my opinion..

Looks like no one is racing online for the time being just checked granturismo.com again and still down for ' maintenance'

Noted mate - Fully understand where you are coming from and obviously if friends from overseas joining results in lag then we can address things.

We have to give it a shot to be fair and allow more competition, I was racing with a FM3 club member from Canada the other night in a full lobby on GT5 and everything was fine, you tend to find their connections are better than some of the UK ones anyway.

:)

I would say communication is the main reason for U.K. only.
If they can communicate in English when fighting for a corner then it’s fine with me.

Well during this outage I managed to convert 24 golds / 18 silvers into 60 golds in the licenses. Well chuffed. The S licence was the most enjoyable as it was all racing.

Looks like the service is now restored. See you online today???

Awesome - It was the first thing I checked to mate!

The Notice (Top Right) on GT5 home page recommends emptying CACHE in GT5 Options for a smoother online experience...

Would love to know what they have done, I can't see any changes within the game menus.

Will see you all online tonight, today I am in the workshop helping SparkoPolo make a Cockpit from MDF. He has the new Fanatec GT2 Wheel on order which covers PC, PS3 and XBox.
He has downloaded some awesome CAD plans from the Internet which you trace around onto MDF.
It's then simply cut out, screwed together and hey presto a full cockpit with pedal mount (adjustable), wheel mount (adjustable) and seat. The thing splits into two pieces for storage and cost total including wood and fixings £40GBP.

Will get him to post some pictures up once we have completed the build.

Only 13 sleeps until Christmas GBRC - have a great day!

I'd like IN please.

PSN: gnorman288
Locale: Northants, UK
8MB down, 1.3mb up BT wireless
DFP (I think, its an older GT4 one from 6 years ago)

Don't get much GT time as my wife is anti-PS3. Not done much online racing despite being into GT since GT1

Enjoy!

His the dogs nuts and I could only dream about being that good but his playing prologue and using clutch was quicker then paddles ,I don't think this is the case in gt5, if this game is realistic then it would make sense that paddles are now quicker then manual shifting as in real life
