@komp - 💡

Please will you wave your wand and post this video up of Sphinx ripping up Tsukuba, I am trying to get a low 1.04 and must be missing a trick somewhere...

(The ZIP file is in his earlier post it didn't copy here)

Many thanks mate

Sphinx, I see you are online, any tips for the group mate?

Try this one:

Also did a few laps with skid recovery enabled, just to see what difference it makes; Got a 1:03.6 👎 :grumpy:

Thank you komp/Sphinx

Watching now and I'm already in the wrong gear for turn 1, I have been changing down to 2nd!

Appreciated,

Nigel

Awesome lap mate 👍, going to try your lines and gear choices later

Cheers.

You'll find that my turn 1 isn't that hot and you should be able to gain just under .100 at T1 and continue that on, plus more, to T2. The last two turns are the crunch, you can lose all your gains there quite easily.

Have fun. 👍

Thanks for uploading, komp. 👍

Just managed a 1.04.461 - Can't believe how much time you can make up or how much you loose for the smallest of errors. T1 is a tricky one, I want to put it in 2nd every time and I agree the final turn is critical for keeping the time you have made up and for the start of your next flying lap.

Thanks for the replay Sphinx, I am 0.7sec up on my PB so far....

Loving your work komp, watched the two races and they looked brilliant. I think it was Tox?? that lost it on the final lap - gutted!

Thinking about a Nascar race tonight at some point so we can get a video up?

We (Myself, SparkoPolo and Deano33) ran some of this last weekend just to test it out and once you get a feel for the steering it is all about draughting and maintaining a smooth line in and out of each turn. It gets very tactical towards the end because you don't want to be in the front going into the final lap or another car will get in your slip stream and fly past you at about 195mph!
The replay videos were awesome to watch back so if we can get 16 in and have a 10 lap race we should get some very good footage.

Maybe also a rally race on dirt or snow, they make for great replay action?

The more interesting we make the thread the more like minded drivers will join.

I will edit the first post to show some good examples of clean fun racing and amazing hot laps.
The 15 laps with mandatory pit stops we ran with minis was a real nice replay very exciting. I also have a replay with me and sphinx putting in mid to high 1:04's best lap race times. Lucky for me Sphinx brought is B-Game to the track that day.

Komp,
Once I learn how to post files will you take a look and see what you can do with them might need some editing.

Sure thing. It is no hassle to do it. II get to enjoy watching the erplay while it records and take about 6 mins to upload to the tube. Bargain.

What an excellent idea, just what I have been looking for :):

I am a long-time GT addict but a job, a wife, a 4 year old and a new baby are severely limiting the time I have available for gaming.

I will join the GBRC group and hope to meet some of you online in the near future.

Sphinx...

I challenge you!
I just had a great couple of hours racing 4 or 5 grumpy members. All very clean races as I would expect :)

I won every race over the 2 hours tho so I'm not boasting but I'm feeling very confident and I want to challenge you for the fastest grumpy man title :)

Let me know when your online and we can race :)

Cheers
Tom

Edit: lunchbox, I'm not sure how fast you are but I challenge you as well haha

💡💡💡

Sphinx has posted the fastest time round Tsukuba in the 07 Mini (1.04.003) Why don't you have a crack at that until you meet him on track dude.

Read the rules and regs posted earlier in this thread and lets see what you've got young man?

Remember to save your replay...

Good luck

A couple of videos from last nights final two races. I decided to bring out the cockpit / wheel after mad-dave spoke the truth.

A few call outs from work interupted my fun :(

Video 1 @ High speed ring: It was YOU Komp!! The guilty party that punted me off @ 1.19:grumpy::grumpy::grumpy::):sly:

Video 2 @ Monza: Missed my 'mature' donuts before the finish line:tdown:, gave a nice smoke effect to Olly's finish though!!👍:)

I would class myself as an extremely clean and fast racer who tries to keep every action as realistic as possible (what gt5 is all about)

Yes I do like a challenge and I'm very competitive :P

I have failed to beat that time however:(
In my defence I only had 5 laps.
1st lap I managed a 1:05.57 and I steadily improved to get my best lap of 1:04.852 on lap 5. I rekon I could beat it but that must be getting very close to the quickest lap that car on those tires can do. Well, thankyou for providing me this challenge and confirming I am amongst other very fast people :D looking forward to racing you online :)

Edit: I have since beaten it :D 1:04:55

I'm not boasting but I'm yet to find someone who is massively quicker than me:D I'm looking forward to beating you all in some ultra clean realistic racing!!

Tommy,
clearly modesty isn't your forte, which by the way is something important you need to learn when taking part in OLR, not just here at GTP, but also at any other major GT board. You see, within the GT OLR community there is a lot more to it than just being fast if one is to gain the respect that one may perhaps deserve.

Please don't be offended by my comments. Be enlightened. 👍

As for the challenge, I've been doing OLR since late 1998 and I'm now much longer in the tooth to rise to such a challenge. However, if you plan on sticking around, I'm sure our paths will meet sooner or later Hopefully in an organised event of some kind, although by then I would think you would have your eye on much bigger fish than I.

No matter how fast you believe you are, there will always be someone faster.

Is there any possibility for me to take part in?
I'm from Brazil.

I guess that will be lunchbox147's decision mate as he formed the group from this thread.

Welcome anyway great to see you found our group of interest and if you want to join me in a lounge I will be on line shortly, send me a FR and i will add you mate

I remember this happening, it was not on purpose as far as I remember, see the folks behind us they are pretty close when heading into the turn then the next view shows some gappage, pretty sure something happened.

I will re record the replay from my POV to see... :)

If I did then I do apologise and it would not have been on purpose.

Hi all, just joined the group.
Been looking through the lobbys for some clean racing and have found very little. Look forward to some fun and probable humiliation from all you cockpit boys ;)

Hi all,

I don't want to become an intruder, as am not from the UK, but looking for mature clean racers. Would it be possible to make an exception? :)

Hi fellas, just sticking my thoughts in about the two hot topics.

Firstly, it seems to me that the chap in the inside of that High Speed Ring incident went in a little too hot, but it's a close call and it looks like they were both locking up from what I can see. I would call it one of those 'Racing Incidents'.

Secondly, on the issue of folks from beyond these shores joining the group I would say that so long as the principles, for which the restriction to within the UK were originally applied, are not compromised then lets welcome them with open arms. Oh, and one other thing. None of these bloody foreigners are allowed to win, right? It's a joke, it's a joke. :)

GBRC Welcomes all clean drivers, I personally don't think we should limit ourselves to UK only - Please add the group from the link on the first thread and add me as a friend. Tonight will be pretty special, I am going to open my lounge from approx 2100hrs GMT so please jump in and have some fun. We will mix it up as we did last night, shuffle, chosen tuned cars, stock cars, nascar and i will always leave the track settings open for whoever I feel raced well in the last race to choose.

We had some connection issues last night in Lunchbox147's lobby, I think he has been overstretched with the amount of messages he has received since starting the thread.

On that note, if you can please ensure your NAT is open and you have a microphone, it makes the evening far more sociable if we can all chat and also makes the racing cleaner if you can let someone know you are on their right/left for example.

See you on track, I am off to London to see the Christmas lights!
:)

Komp I was just playing with you:sly:, it really doesn't bother me the occasional 'racing incident' (lets call it that!), its more about the fact I have finally found a group of decent like-minded guys to race with, my finishing position really doesn't bother me as shown by the monza video, hope my comment didn't come across the wrong way (maybe its my weird sense of humor?) Great job with the analysis though, good to see you could do something like that if a real dispute crops up one day.
See you on track soon,
Jim.

Hey Jim, your comment did not come across in the wrong way, I remembered the incident when it happened as I use rear view a lot and when you mentioned the above I thought it would be a good chance to mess with the replay and take the photo mode into the video. More of a messing about excersise really.

Great racing as always and I agree with your comments about a great group of us. I have had more fun this week online than I have in a long time.

Deano33 was racing with clutch and I gave it a bash last night as well. Respect value has gone up immensly for him after trying that SHOCKING method out... I soon went back to the paddles!!!

👍

Well said Jim,

Looked at the video, komp had the outside line but was infront of your car Jim. It looks like he turned in berfore he was clear of your front end. Its a really tricky one, we are all learning the cars and how they handle, I know I've thought on several occasions i was clear to pull back in and i wasn't :grumpy:

If stewarding this one I would vote for racing incident.

Awesome replay work komp, and great racing last night.
