Good luck with that gents ,can't wait to see it ,his going to be hard to catch with that setup Nige. Good on ya Alex

His the dogs nuts and I could only dream about being that good but his playing prologue and using clutch was quicker then paddles ,I don't think this is the case in gt5, if this game is realistic then it would make sense that paddles are now quicker then manual shifting as in real life

Yeah I dont think there is any real advantage using a clutch. I use it - (Fanatec Turbo S with G25 Pedals) most of the time, but thats because I forced myself after everyone said it was better with Forza, when we raced a budget series.

With GT5 I use paddles sometimes (especially at night as Fanatec shifter is loud!) and dont notice any difference with speed of gear change really. Plus they have to be VERY precise with clutch.

Hi Guys, count me in...

Age: 39
Locale: Aylesbury
8MB down 800k up ADSL
PSN: FlatLyna

Fanatec GT3RS v1 + CSP - currently using Logitech GP Force in GT5

New to this site, looking to race during the day if possible and this is right up my street for a 43 year old lol

8mb wired to router
Psn RedskinUK
Controller

Add me and let's get racing, thanks

Cracking idea!

PSN - JamieH76.
Age - 34.
Internet - 20mb Virgin wired. NAT2 (sometimes go straight off the modem if problems with comms)
Headset - yes (seems to work best when in friends list)
Setup - AcerH5360 100" projector, 5.1 setup, DFGT, Old Escort GTi seat!
All assists off
Bumper cam

Sick to the back teeth (now there's an old saying to show my age) of getting rammed off the track at the first corner. So this sounds like a great idea that will only add to the GT5 online experience.

Cheers

Jim

But! Not sure how to find the rooms being used for races!?

Welcome Andy/Tamicus,

Happy have you on board, please read the first post. The link to the group page where you can join GBRC is towards the bottom of that thread.

To find one of our lounges, I would suggest posting in the group page where we arrange some of the racing/practice.

Feel free to send me a FR and join private lounge if I am showing online.

Any problems, send me a PM

Regards,

Nigel

I've found the online racing surprisingly quiet so far - this sounds like a good way of meeting more likeminded racers. I've joined the group.

Welcome John,

From what I have read and from how your profile reads, its an honour!

Thanks for joining the group, it certainly has succeeded so far in finding like minded people and has produced some really edge of the seat evenings!

See you on track,

Nigel

Defected from Forza series as FM3 has lost all the decent community (FM2 was the better of the two anyway)!

Age : 41
Network : 8mbps WIFI
Gear : Sixaxis
PSN: paganpete

Used to race with a good old bunch from all over the world in my FM2 days - FM3 ruined it all (I preferred racing big old muscle cars - but for some reason I have fell in love with the Autozam AZ-1 and the Micra cup car)!

Hi, any chance I could join your group although im from Denmark.

Age : 34
Network : 10mbps Cable
Gear : GT Force pro
PSN: BATEY

Seems that danish people wont race online, so I hope you could give me a slot.

Hi guys I would love to join this if possible, its nice to have some people from the uk so time zones isn't a problem.
Age: 14
Control method: DFGT
Internet:Wireless, don't know exactly the speed however I have raced in previous online series's without any issue's.
PSN: GTP_lbsf1
Driving style: Strong but fair, I race "clean" and fair however I'm agressive as in I will rub sides and such, (I race karts in real life so I know how to race clean however an important part of racing is racing contact.)

I dropped in for a short while this afternoon and found a group of interesting and fairminded racers at 'work' great fun for 30 mins. or so.

Note to all new or casual onliners, the group moved from an open lobby to a private one to deal with latency issues and I lost contact due to not having updated my friends list (this is being fixed as we speak), just as well really because I was working from home anyway. (B spec Bob earned some good xp and credits this morning too ;) )

Sincere apologies c7

Please add me mate if you havn't already, a good point and some thing we were all discussing yesterday. Maybe we could have a post on the group page that we mark if we have a lounge open. That way any member can find the racing easily or send the relevant FR so they can get in.

Hope to see you again mate

c7mpr your in my friends list just follow a player from there lounge you will see a yellow icon by the coffee cup click that.

@ Basher, I will sort a lobby thread out.

Sounds like a decent thing to join and could be right up my street. Early GT5 on line impression isn't too impressive for me since I only ever seem to get one race out of every ten where everyone isn't just messing around all the time, driving the wrong way etc.

Personally I'm just looking for somewhere to have a serious race, a mess around, a good laugh, whatever takes our fancy as a group at that time. I'm not looking for pressure from the group from things such as "you must meet up at 6pm tonight on Skype/MSN so we can discuss tactics etc, failure to meet will mean kick" etc etc. Too many times I join things and everyone is way too serious. I want to join in and be part of a bunch of folks having fun, simples! If this sounds about right then let me know and I'll gladly be part of your group.
