I'm from Watford too!
Looks like the Hertfordshire massive will be out in force....

Once I have confirmed my PS3 has done the transfer of data I shall be joining.

Thanks fingersandthumbs.

Watford Massive it truly is ADEuk :)

This is sounding very interesting, always seems to be someone either parked in the middle of the track or going backwards!

PSN ID: GTP_jimantonic

DFGT and coffee table rig up!
Feel free to add me and I'll get on when I can, usually a couple of evenings during the week and a few hours at the weekends.

GT5_komp and ADEuk - I'm a Watford fan and did used to live there, the charming South Oxhey estate to be precise, so that kinda counts

I'm suspicious, I've only seen tyre marks going into South Oxhey

I am getting really frustrated at entering so-called Fair/Clean Racers Only lobbies, only to be confronted by people whose so called intentions and aim in life is to make your stay as unbearable as humanly possible. ( As soon as I enter said rooms now, and either notice anyone short-cutting/driving backwards, or shunting folk off the track, I just leave. Sadly in any racing game you will always get idiots..... Oh Well. )

Nothing arranged yet mate - last night we all jumped on Tsukuba in the Mini 07 stock parts and tune - Sport Medium Tyres. If you want a little challenge now the lap time to beat was a 1.05.525. (Little tip, the tyres are only good for 5 laps then go in and change them - try for your flying laps on 3/4, and stay out of 2nd gear until the car is slowed down enough, this will ensure smoother turn in and keep your speed up through the corner.)

We'll be changing after every lobby race anyway and we can select the vote for track option within the lobby settings if everyone wishes.

The other good feature to take away the which car question is the "Shuffle" option within the lobby settings. The cars are selected for you and are all reasonably equal. Worked really well at the weekend and ensures we all drive some of the cars we probably never would.

Any thoughts on a track or if you are planning on hosting a lobby tonight could be put up here so people can find you?

Have fun!

What about aids?

Welcome to the clean racing that the game is designed for!

Some times shunting or crashing more likely locking up and sliding into someone is inevitable. Here is a fair way to resolve any accidental incidents:

Safety Car:

Simply decide over the mic if a safety car is required, doesn't need to be complicated, I always think if someone is going to get left behind for 5 laps on their own then a safety car is called.

All the pack stay in order and close up behind the 1st place car who max revs out 1st or 2nd gear (depending on the car type) once the entire train is behind the lead car the last place car informs everyone he is in. On a countdown for all to hear given by the 1st place car of 3,2,1 GO hit the throttle and race on!

Works really well and in race series we typically restrict it to the first 2 or 3 laps.

Golden rule though is communication, everyone racing must have a mic....simples!

Oh yes, the section that Dips past the Holiday Inn and McDonalds is nice

This is my thinking. Not just the tarmac?????

All off except for racing line and ABS.

You will maybe have read or heard that people using the G25 wheel and pedals, that there is very little dead-zone on the brake pedal so for anyone using this type of pedal we leave ABS on so they can set it to 1.

Even this low setting change stops locking up so it makes for better racing and less incidents.

what headphones do you all use? I would like a usb set rather than bluetooth, but not sure what ones are PS3 compatible.

LOL A41 ring, love it!

Another + for shuffle racing. If the host gets the boost and shuffle ratios right it's a very close match. Going too wild spoils it as the slow car can be a good 20/30mph off on top end as we found out on SS7 once.......

Impressive time without aids, unless I've misunderstood your 'stock' setup. 👍

I still use a G25. It's in my sig.

Blimey, lots of people now signed up to this thread. Justed added the rest of the people to my friends list. Check your friend invites.

Well feeling a little over whelmed to say the least.

I will try and update the op to make it easy to search for drivers. Also some great suggestions, too many to mention hear.

So I would like to keep the momentum and open it up for suggestions to name our group. Maybe "G.B.R.C" Grumpy British Racing Club" This will help identify lobbies.

Also is there anyone hear that could help organize the competitive side? And maybe get things established. To be quite honest I am useless at this kind of thing. Basher I liked the information on your F2/3 ideas, kind of making a rod for your own back...Nudge...Nudge.
Considering your
I would recommend organising a time trial or hot-lap challenge with a specified car/power/tune where people can report lap times back to the forum.
The GTP5 qualifier will be up and running soon we could use this as our benchmark. I noticed some GTP lads in hear so maybe they could help put people in the right direction once that gets started.

I have a second PSN account set up and ready, so why not use this lounge to chat and post messages in game and set up races from there. Like a bulletin board, would be better than sending messages to tens of peoples and it would help keep this thread tidy. I would have to keep checking for new friend requests but it might help. What do you guys think?

Got room for one more?

Age 43
SKY Broadband 20Meg, usually connects at about 12.
Hard wired network.
Old Logitech Driving Force in a home made cockpit.
PSN ID jazzishouse

Wife and kid usually wanting to watch the HDTV so I'm often not online until late during the week or early at the weekends.

Occasionally snatch a bit of time when I should be working at home!

First you need to set up the new club in the Social Groups section. This is where all the club discussions could be held.

Here is just one example of what your club could look like:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/group.php?groupid=199

After this topic has dropped away, the best form of promotion is word of mouth and the clubs reputation as a good clean racing club, but you could also instruct all club members to place a link to the club in their sig's for promotion.

What you must not do is create new threads with the aim to further promote your club. This would be considered as spam, and then I would have to give you a slap for doing so. ;)

Good luck. 👍

Cheers Sphinx,

The mini was the stock choice from the given list, not one you have modified or adjusted in any way.(other than the colour)

I have a feeling the tyres were Racing Medium - maybe Lunchbox would confirm if not Deano33 or Milo who were also in the lobbby, will try a lap later this evening and let you know for sure.

It'll be good if you could. I know I've lost my edge the past year and a bit, but I couldn't get close to your time on Sport Mediums. I'm hoping they were Sport Softs, otherwise I'm in trouble. :nervous:

I just got slaughtered and I will blame it on the no wheel hehe. I will bring out the cockpit and not use the controller as I am not used to it as much and holding on to you guys in the corners was more binary off / on buttons. Still no excuse.

Going to hit A spec for a while as I have not had the ps3 with my savegame available since Friday night!!

Cheers for now.

I managed a low 1.08 on sport mediums which were approximately 3 seconds quicker than comfort mediums so race mediums, (if its a linear improvement), would result in a 1.05.

Gonna try it now, who's lounge is running Tsukuba?
