Err, may sound like an obvious question, but just to be sure ;

Does the max drive and accompanying software work with newer slim PS2's.

....................................................

Works for me, so I'd say yes. đź‘Ť

It should work yes ... mine is just bloody dead slow reading my memory card sometimes ... this thing is a very temperamental thing ... not the best quality I have ever seen ...

Okay help needed. :dunce:

I purchased an Action replay max but I can't watch any of the replays you guys posted from the week 10 race. This is what I did :

Download a max format replay from this site.

Copied the max format replay from my PC to the AR pen drive. (name???)

Then copied the replay from the pen drive to my PS2 memory card.

But when i go to the replay theatre mode thers's no replay. What should i do?
Do I have to use the uncrush option.

You need to 'UN-CRUSH' the max file onto your memory card mate!

Also you need to be sure of what format it's in! By that I mean whether it's NTSC/PAL/Japanese!

As long as it's the right format, once you un-crush it, it should work!

It would also help for other's to give advice if you gave some details in your profile!

i.e. where you live!

We're not a bunch of low-life crim's here!
We're not gonna hunt ya down thro your details and shoot ya in the night, or rob ya! Honest
We are just a bunch of guy's and gal's who LOVE racing!

Hopefully.
I had an X-port with my old PS2. When it 'died' I bought a new slim one and of course the X-port won't work with it.
So I'll buy a Max Drive 16Mb now.
The cheapest I found is at www.play.com : 20.99 € delivered (from Britain) to France.
If anyone has found a cheaper one, please PM me or post in here.

The MaxDrive DOES work with the slimline PS2 (I have both).

There's also a MaxDrive here:
CodeJunkies

It's $29.99 (and also Euro), but they have English and American sites/shipping points.

Me too!

@Flat out

Mate that's a damn good price there, (ÂŁ12.99 delivered) it cost me ÂŁ15 just for the AR max software to use with my usb mp3 player a little over two months ago!
Mite get one myself, as a spare set of disks (coz the blue disk's seem to be softer and mark up easier) and it'll give me a dedicated stick memory.

Yeah, the usual price in the shops here in France seems to be 49.99 € (about £35), and the price play.com charges is really a bargain.
I just realized some people might be interested so I ordered mine before they run out of stock

HI guys. I need your help. I read this thread 3 times, but I still dont get it...
I bought the Max Drive this week(mainly for WRS).
Im on NTSC, have the old PS2 and Windows XP on my PC.
I downloaded the software for my PC.
I was also able to download the requested file from my PS2 onto the USB stick.
I then put the USB stick into the respective slot on my PC.
I could see it showed the file on the E-drive and also in the files in the Max Drive window.
NOW the problem: I wanted to open the file. It was not possible to do anything but delete it with the one file showing in the Max Drive Window.
And in the other one the Pc kept on asking me with what I want to open it (.max was not given as an option)
Am I trying to do something which is not possible? Or did i not download it properly? Do I have to open the little key lock on the side of the stick ?
Any step-by step help would be greatly appreciated! You can PM me so it doesnt take any unncessary space here in the thread...Thanks for your help and sorry if im a knucklehead...

Hi there,

If you say open, do you mean reading/vieving the .max file on your pc ? You can't do that. The Maxdrive's only used to copy/move files between a pc and a PS2. The .max file must be uncrushed from PC to PS2 to view on PS2.

So ...

From PS2 to PC :

1. Put maxdrive CD into PS2.
2. Put Maxdrive USB stick into PS2.
3. Copy/move replay file from Memory card to Maxdrive.
4. Insert Maxdrive into USB slot on PC.
5. PC will pick it up as a USB drive (no need to install Maxdrive software on PC !).
6. You can then copy/move the .max file from the Maxdrive onto your Harddisk.

From PC to PS2 :

1. Insert Maxdrive into USB slot on PC.
2. Copy/move .max file onto Maxdrive from Harddisk.
3. On PS2 put Maxdrive (PS2) CD in and Maxdrive into USB slot on PS2.
4. In Maxdrive software, select UNCRUSH to convert the file from .max to PS2 file onto memory card ...

That should be it ! That's all it can do haha.

Hope that helps.

Hi Kragbees
Thanks a million! yes i was trying to view my file from the PS2 on my PC...

Thanks a lot for your time and help, it is very much appreciated (you say bedankt in Afrikaans?).
I wondser why not someone like you wrote that ''user manual''.....
Thanks again matey for your kind help!

Ok, i´ve got the MaxDrive with the help of CFM, and so i would like to ask if someone could do me some replay videos of some of them.

I would like specially of my lap at nurburgring in the minolta, on arcade(4'48) and also about my all F1 laps, they are 8 about.

The other laps i don´t need replay videos, just of those i said. :D

If someone can help me at all, i would be very thankful. :D

You should contact jump_ace ... he has been helping out hOt604BOi, so he may be willing and have the time to help you.

Or you could try Daan.

Although he does do videos for all the wrs races, so maybe he's running out of bandwidth.

He's a very nice guy though.

Hope your Scottish is up to scratch Veilside.....

Thats where i bought mine, as far as im aware its the cheapest, with delivery included !!! :)

I received the device yesterday, and they even charged less than expected : 15.99 € only (around £10 I guess). I should have bought a hundred of them and sold them on eBay.

Not sure if anyone can help me here but I'm looking for a PAL game save with the Arcade Sauber Mercedes C9 Race Car. Or better still, the above car plus the Arcade Bentley Speed 8 Race Car ????

IforceV8

Cheers, Fryz found this for me:

http://www.allaboutgames.co.uk/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=48;t=000071;p=

"This save has every available car in both GT Mode and Arcade Mode. It also has all tracks. All undriven cars have either 0 or 6.2 miles on them. There are a couple of cars that are there as a special colour (Triumph Spitfire and Citroen 2CV). The four Black Le Mans Cars have 0 miles on them. There undriven examples of all colours of F1 car."

Thanks to Bassman đź‘Ť and Fryz đź‘Ť
