I must have had the worst AI ever. Every car was faster then me down the straight so I had to lift off the gas on Some parts of the track like turn 3 and 3A just to close up. While I was able to get around all them in two laps, it wasn't made easier by the fact that:

Lap 5: I get hit in the side from a Honda s2000 doing a failed pass in the final corner

Lap 6: I get punted again in the same corner, this time by that hyundai HCD6 (didn't even know that could be raced) and he goes right by so I have to come back on the next lap, off the gas in the 3-3A hills and got back around. I swear I always get the worst AI.

I have a busy day tomorrow... I do not think I can race so I'm submitting!:)

Had fun kicking a Lotus HC up and down the road :sly: My AI field was set to +8
in the end I had a +6 sec lead.
As Smallhorses experienced I did trade some paint with cars after turns but do not think that is against the rules. I did restart after 10 sec penalties and being punt out onto the grass :yuck:

These are my splits of time submited
T1- 24.005
T2 - 1'13.735

Good luck all!

Sounds like you found the same AI field (+7) as I got!
3 different Honda S2000s (1st, 3rd & 5th) , a Hyundai HCD6 (2nd) and the Infiniti G35 Sedan (4th.)
The only one that gave me any trouble was the Infiniti. I passed him round the outside out of turn 6 on lap 1, but he's quicker in the run up to turn 7, so I stay to the right on the inside line so he doesn't rear-end me. 💡
Doesn't quite work, since once he's alongside on the outside he still tries to apex the turn through the MX-5 that he can't fail to notice is in his way! :dunce:

I found the entry to turn 3, braking for turn 7 and exiting turn 7a are about the only places that clean passing attempts can be made. Turn 4 looks like a possibility but the AI will always turn-in on you or rear-end you if you try to pass here. The hairpin turn 11 is equally treacherous. :scared:

I love how "chuckable" the MX-5 is, you can literally hurl it into any bend, it hardly ever breaks loose, and is very easy to predict and catch if it does. Just like in real life! :D

Looking forward to Fuji already!
Once again Green_Flag, an enormous thanks for organising this series!!!

Right, I've just completed my race and submitted the times.

As for splits... I haven't a clue! I wasn't really looking. I saved the replay though so I may go back and check later. The control tyres (S2 equivalent) seemed to last with no problems at all over the 8 laps, they were still greeny yellow when I finished the race, and I didn't even go easy on them.

My race was made up of three Honda S2000s, an Infiniti G35 Sedan, and an Audi S4 which flopped around in last the whole race. As with Smallhorses, the Infinity was a pain to pass (it's a big lump of a thing) but I managed to outbrake and slot ahead into the final hairpin on the first lap having already passed the S4 and the tailing S2000. AI was set to 7, by the way, on the limit. Finished the race first, about 4 seconds ahead of the leading S2000.

An action shot of the first lap pass on the Audi, as I was landing from hitting the curb hard with my inside wheels! A little light rubbing as I passed but certainly no worse than the small punt I got into the following right hander...:

Not sure if I'll be able to compete in every event but I'll see what I can do! Great choice of series 👍

Wasn't going to race, but I really liked this car, so I ran a time yesterday that I'm sticking with.

Used +7 AI and only had one touch as I took an inside angle on turn 8 and the computer tried to kill me, was only a little tap though. My first lap is 2.4s off what I had on my first session with +7 AI, but even though I don't remember abusing the AI I must have since I didn't have to slow down at all on this final session for the AI.

Times between 1'13.0-1'13.3 except for first 3 laps, fastest lap is .280 off my best, but I had 23.7/1'12.8 for that. Had mostly 23.8-24.0 at T1 with one 23.661.

OK - I ran again this morning and was less careful with the AI, assuming that the speed limited penalty is intended to manage that. No leaning or anything abusive, but a few minor contacts with AI while working to get past.

Splits from my best lap and submitting now -

24.244
1:13.521

Looking for ward to the next one.

Kevin

Ok thanks, I had just pm'ed my registration to Green_flag since it said so in the first post, but it'd probably be safer to post in and pm it.

Looks like Green Flag may be having Real Life interfere with being able to run the series. Hopefully we see him on here posting results and answering questions sometime today. Not sure what area of the country he might be in, hopefully not one impacted by Hurricane Ike. :scared:

Let us know if you need any assistance in any aspects of running the series, several participants have experience in that regard. 👍

Hmmm....
I hate to say it, but perhaps Kevin is right here, I hope Green_Flag is OK if he was in the part of the country that got "Iked"! :scared:

My submission PM is still unread. :(
Was really looking forward to the results and details of the Fuji Race to come.
Guess we're just going to have to stay patient. 👍

If he is not able to get back to it, this might be yet another Stagnate series. Its been to many of those as of late.

Well, if it comes to be another week or so, maybe we can all decide what to do with this. Enough interest here that some of us may just need to pick up the ball and run with some version of it. I'm not volunteering for the full workload of another series, but I'm willing to help. 👍

I hope "Green_Flag" is allright and didn't get "Iked"
thought if he lives at the area that got "Iked" then there is big possibility that
it will take long before he will be able to get online for this cause.

I was about to join this race series at race 1 but found it about too late.
will be joining in the future when the series continues thought.

I hope he is ok as well, I am shooting for "he is busy with school" rather than he got Iked!!!:scared:
Yea it is too bad...I really liked this series so far...I am not sure what I can bring to keep this running, but maybe we can work something out! 💡

Alright guys I didn't get "Iked" but I've been extremely busy please forgive. I will get the results up asap. For now here is the next race.

Glad to see you're safe & well Green_Flag! 👍

Same rules for this race I presume? AI difficulty at +7 or higher, right?
Look forward to seeing those results soon! :)

*edit* Bugger. Forgot about the possibility of an HP handicap, so I'll have to wait to start running this until later!

Remember to add me to the list of racers dude, PM sent a few days back 👍 Glad to hear you weren't caught out by the hurricane!

Thanks for making it back, and I'm sorry I led everyone to believe you'd been "Iked". I just connected the dots of - High School Football (Yes, it's everywhere, but nowhere more than Texas) and that your last time on the site was Saturday morning.

My offer still stands, if I can help in any way, with leaderboard sheets (Although Smallhorses may have an issue with that :sly) or anything else that is taking up time that might be duplicated across series', just let us know. 👍

Results for round one have been posted

Horsepower penalties for round two have been posted

Points are coming soon

I forgot to submit my fastest lap and I wrote it down and submitted it as soon as I got the pm on "Sep 17 2008, 8:28 PM" requesting the fastest lap. I did so and the moderator was offline. I feel since we haven't been getting prompt responses on all of our questions and insufficient information about the upcoming races that this submission should be valid. Since its not, I hope you guys enjoy the series :) GL all!

Man, I have alot of catching up to do.

Yeah, I can see the frustration there, especially if you'd submitted an overall time, which seems to be what the results and points are based on, by the posted deadline. There doesn't appear to be any clear function for the fastest lap time, since there's no extra points or adjustments for having it.
I'd like to see Green_Flag's reasoning for your exclusion and the importance of fastest lap. Maybe as a tie breaker in the exceedingly miniscule possibility of there being identical times to 3 decimal places after 15-minutes or so of racing?

I'm getting a little disillusioned by the lack of clarity here too, the organiser seems to pop in, answer 1 of maybe 4 or 5 questions that're posted throughout the week, and then disappear for an indeterminate period.
This has the potential to be a great series but it helps if the orchestra is all playing the same symphony. What we're getting is 9 or 10 individual players all making their own decisions about sketchy rules, which is akin to having all the members of the orchestra playing their own solos from different tunes simultaneously. It doesn't sound good overall, and it'd be difficult to pick out anything clear from the noise.
I'll be holding off running the next race until we get some clarification here of what's going on?, what's expected? and some rules concerning submission.

My explanation is that he didn'e use the right format when he submitted his times. If he would have used the right format that was posted at the begining his time would have counted. The season is no where near over and Jump_Ace has plenty time to come back and have a good finish.

From now on I would like all questions sent to me in a pm so that I will not miss any and all will be anwsered.

If you guys decide to boycot me I will shut this thing down right now cause I'm not going to waste my time.

It's not clear in the first post that any submission not in the correct format will be disqualified.
Also, why would you PM Jump_Ace to request his fastest laptime if you had no intention of including him in the results?

Technically, my submission wasn't formatted correctly either, I didn't include the "race name" after my name, do I get disqualified too?

Once again, I'll ask what the significance of submitting the fastest lap is?

The fastest lap is so I can get an idea to see if anyone is lying about their times. If someone was to have the fastest total time but like 5th or 6th fastest lap time I would be suspicious.

I'm not going to continue in this series if a proven racer's submission is ignored over a miniscule detail. :grumpy:

Include Jump_Ace in the results or lose me as a racer as well. And if you don't care that's fine by me. I thought this would be a fun warmup for SFGTP4, but I have plenty to keep me busy without this.

EDIT: Never mind, I'm out either way. You clearly do not have the time or communication skills to be running a series here. Asking people to send questions via PM rather than you reading all the posts in your own race thread is just ludicrous.

When ARCAT is over, I'll post another 4 race short series with some sort of road car(s) to get us through until SFGTP4. (That's if Jake does not post the series he was planning last time I spoke to him.)

As a guy who's runs(and is currently is running two), limiting quetions to PM only is not as good idea, especially if its the same question everyone else might need to know. Also, you have to make everything clear right there from the get go. You can't expect to have a good series if you can't lay down everything rigth then and there. Thats the responsibility of running a series.
