Managed to take a nice chunk of time off - down to a 1'28.59
Really annoying though, was 3 tenths up on this lap after s1, but got the braking all wrong for the hairpin. Good fun once you get a rhythm round the track.

If anyone had told me previously that I would be driving without SRF and TC in this race I would have laughed. SRF maybe but not without TC1.
However I have found that I am driving without them and also using 5- 42to50- 10or20 LSD to get the best results.
Eg, 5-42-10 or 5-50-10 etc. I also went up 2" on the rims. Not exactly sure if that helped or not but the 42or50 certainly does.

Tried this one for the first time today, and I must say I was amazed how good this car handled, I was expecting a nightmare given SRF was off, but once the setup was sorted out, the car became almost as good as that BMW was at the last seasonal, ant that says something, as I consider that one of the sweetest handling cars I've driven in GT6 so far.

currently at 1:27.3xx and I can see 1:26.9xx possible with a bit of effort.
with the active steering is ridiculous..

The game allows it so why not?

The game allows it .. but use the active steering, as it helps in situations of oversteering, makes driving more ... arcade and allows you to find extreme solutions in the setting and does not reward those who have greater sensitivity to the guide.
And another drive without active steering.;)

Bravo paballone! :-)

Don't know if many people are still running this, but i made an adjustment to cargo's tune - dampers to 1,10 front and 1,1 back. And lost the front toe (set to 0). I am not going to pretend i know about tuning though, this was just trial and error job, seems to give less over steer when applying throttle on exit though.

Down to a 1'28.2 now :) just inside top 100.

Did it! finally beat Cargo, with just 2 hours to go.

Cargo...1:28.847

Dalone..1:28.807. Nuff said.

And I used Lou8ball's damper suggestions, 1-10 front and 1-1 back as well as losing the front toe. Thanks for that Lou.

Should add that is pos # 173, sure that is my best ever time trial finish. 7th fastest in Australia, 2nd fastest using the DS3 (sticks) and fastest using the buttons.

And please excuse my exuberance this time, I'll try and limit it next time, ha ha.

Nothing wrong with your exuberance Dalone, very well done on your time.:)
But I think starting your own bragging thread is way out of order and over the top:tdown:
Edit - please accept my apologies for the double post! still not that experienced here. :dunce:

Each to their own I say. I don't think it is up to others to comment on one's own driving preferences.
People are always whining about aids this and aids that, previously they whined about SRF, now when that has been regulated, they need to whine about something else > active steering. when that is banned or regulated they'll probably start whining about ABS .truth is, it does'nt matter, active steering requires a different driving style, but it is not necessarily faster, maybe easier, but not for all, and not for all cars, it certainly was'nt faster with the Tajima.

edit. and try to avoid double-posting:)

Thanks Joel, and yes, it is over the top, way over the top, but those who have been following our little stoushes will understand. And I'm sure Cargo will take it in his stride too.
If it is removed so be it, but I just couldn't help myself at the time.

To steer this thread in another direction before the caca hits the uh.. (how do you say fan in Spanish?), I also achieved a personal best on this TT. I'm firing up the PS3 in a minute to see exactly where I'll land but hopefully it's still in the top 1000. An average placing for many here but a big leap for me.

Best I've done on GT6 is ~2000. Managed a 700 something finish in GT5 when they had the tuning prohibited yet BB adjustable events. 👍

EDIT: Time was 1:30.373 for 826th atm. So locked for top 1000 but further back than I hoped. Done on DS3 w/no aids. :)

It wasn't very long ago Sidebrowns that a sub 2,000 finish for me was a real milestone and back then a sub 1,000 seemed way over the horizon.
But I kept on racing, not because I was desperate to reach a sub 2,000 etc spot, but just for the sheer enjoyment of the game. And, over time, I gained experience and my times shortened to the extent that I now often finish with sub 500 times.
Of course none of it would be possible if it weren't for those generous people who post their tunes here. I can't thank them enough and in case they missed it, thanks again.

Also I have used the active steering when I started in GT5 and after that time are learned without even improved. You have proven to be very fast, the time you would without it.
Let's say that without the active steering need higher concentration;)

I wanted to report a fact that I did not like at all, because someone who claims to be with me PSN ID GT6R_Gigiro79 did the 12th time.
This person is a well-known Italian drivers that lately seems not to have better things to do ...
I'm running only for the team GTD and I would never dare to use other accounts, I have too much respect for the work of the other drivers and in doing so there is nothing to lose that position to the opponent.
Doing so only proves of being right!

as you fell down....basse 👎

BasseKTM è ora che si faccia operare al disco invece di giocare a GT6!! il primo giorno ha fatto 500km ormai è diventato immortaldiscoKTM (per stare dietro a te) :-) Ciao Gigiii

@Gigiro79 , @Viper_UFO, you guys may want to translate the above into English for everyone else.
Personally I have no problems with it since I am not limited to English. :sly:

But GTP's AUP states posts are to be made in English. :)

ok...

sorry

No need to be sorry, just trying to keep the peace.
Some members and moderators (rightfully so) may experience heartburn.

My advice is go back and edit the post to include the English translation. :)
I've done the same myself before in Portuguese.

All posts must be made in English. Its the first rule of the AUP you signed up to when you joined.

Unfortunately for you, you jumped the gun on this one. Like I said before, the effort I put into this one was only to tune the car. Since I spotted your little "bragging" thread, I decided to go back and revisit this one on a more serious note. I think you know the results already. Your quest continues.............

Well to set the record straight I posted that I had beaten your time, because I had. The first time ever I believe and there was about 2 hours left then.
Upon discovering that I had bettered your time you went back into the race and was able to then post a faster time than mine.
Unfortunately when I discovered you had bettered my time it was all over.
Of course that doesn't take anything away from you having the fastest time between us at the finish, which incidentally is the norm.
But I can live with that and look forward to our next challenge, or the one after that or the one after that etc.

Next time, wait until the event is within minutes of closing before posting that you beat him:lol:

Congratulations, it took you two weeks to beat a time I set in a few hours while tuning the car. You are so awesome. You know how many times I beat the more elite people on my friends list because they were simply only interested in the Gold time without putting any further effort into it. Do you see me making threads because I beat Amo, Tidgney, or any of the other ones? No. Why? Because I know they didn't put in their best effort therefore besting their time means nothing to me. Same thing applies here. I put in just enough of an effort to get the Gold and to get the car tuned. Your accomplishment really has no merit just for that reason. I mean, if you want something to crow about, beat me when I have put in an honest, 100% effort and stop looking for that cheap victory. Like I said, it only took me a matter of minutes to better your time so that should tell you something.

In the future, if you must compete with me, tell me what event you wish to use and we'll go from there. Otherwise, you may just be setting yourself up for the cheap victory......unless of course that's what your after.

I think the problem here @Dalone is you are boasting about winning against someone that isn't really trying to beat you. Kind of like drag racing from a red light against someone who is just doing regular city driving and then rolling down your window at the next light "wooo I beat you!". Only for them to actually whoop you at the next set.

I'm happy you got faster as that was your goal, you just went about celebrating it in the wrong way. I'm sure Cargo would have said something along the lines of "Congrats, nice time!" otherwise.

Also : Woo I beat @Johnnypenso at London :D

Exactly. And the only reason I went back and bettered his time is because I seen his little bragging thread and thought it was kinda presumptuous of him to make such a claim even before the event had ended, especially after I told him my effort there was minimal. Kinda pissed me off so I decided to make him eat some crow, to put it bluntly. :sly: I've got bigger fish on my radar than him, I just don't feel like even giving him a cheap victory. ;)

EDIT: Just seen your edit and yes, if the day ever comes that he beats me fair and square with both of us putting in an honest, 100% effort, I will be the first one to sincerely congratulate him. He has put in a great effort so far and has improved substantially since this all started and I give him all the credit in the world for that.....he'll get the other part of the credit he's looking for when/if he accomplishes his goal.

Also, love that meme, couldn't be more fitting. Ironically, I uttered almost those same exact words when I crossed the line, beating his time. I even had that movie pop in my mind.

"You offered to give me an ass whipping back then and you still haven't succeeded, and you never will. I'll make sure of it.", from Cargo last Sunday, (still pretending that remark was serious).

But yesterday I beat his time.

That he later was able to beat my time does not change the fact that I ......'beat his time'.

Whether that was for a minute, an hour, or a day is of little consequence as had I known he went and did a better time, while there was still time to play, I perhaps could have worried him again.

In any case, even while he was ahead of me at the finish (before I beat him) my blue line was right with him, when not in front of him. I congratulate him for having a better time than myself by race end, that's cool, but it doesn't change the fact that for a while I bettered him. To me that was all that mattered, that I succeeded in doing that.

And I am quite happy reading of any, and all, excuses why that happened. :D
