**McNishes Animal Love**

Well there was a bit of a splat in this mornings :sun: warm-up, when Alan destroyed a hare...:splat:

Allan McNish suffered a scare on Saturday morning when he hit a Silverstone hare.

The Scot splattered the unfortunate creature when the hare ran out in front of the Toyota as it entered Stowe corner at close to 160mph in free practice.

McNish’s TF102 was undamaged and the Scot escaped the incident unhurt – which is more than can be said for the hare.

"I couldn’t really react as it all happened so fast but there was no damage to the car," said McNish. "I thought it was a bird or something at first but I had to come in to get the car cleaned up. The smell was awful!"

The hares at Silverstone have long been one of the more unusual hazards that the Northamptonshire track has to offer.

Meanwhile, in the other Toyota garage Mika Salo has recovered from the virus that curtailed his running on Friday. Salo only did one installation lap and was left unable to drive by the stomach virus. The team’s doctor reckoned Salo picked up the illness when travelling in Europe.

Apparently Silverstone :curvyrd: is home to abit of wildlife :bunny::gcar: = :splat:.....messy stuff...

Watch out for more animal action during the race :magnify:

I remember Stefan Johnansson hit a small deer at the Osterreichring (Austria) in 1987 - tore the front left corner off the car and Stefan had a fairly heavy crash.

I can remember one of the Sierra Cosworths hitting a dog in practice for the Bathurst 1000 that same year.

Oh crud, poor hare, why did it have to get killed, why couldn't it have been a rabbit or a rat that got hit (coz i really don't like those animals) why! Hares roool!!

LOL, but i like hares coz i heard that they go in rabbits burrows kill the rabbits inside(don't ask me why) and take it for there own.
But as u guys so clearly said they are animal racers, downforce, intake and exhaust modification.lol
