Allan McNish suffered a scare on Saturday morning when he hit a Silverstone hare.
The Scot splattered the unfortunate creature when the hare ran out in front of the Toyota as it entered Stowe corner at close to 160mph in free practice.
McNishs TF102 was undamaged and the Scot escaped the incident unhurt which is more than can be said for the hare.
"I couldnt really react as it all happened so fast but there was no damage to the car," said McNish. "I thought it was a bird or something at first but I had to come in to get the car cleaned up. The smell was awful!"
The hares at Silverstone have long been one of the more unusual hazards that the Northamptonshire track has to offer.
Meanwhile, in the other Toyota garage Mika Salo has recovered from the virus that curtailed his running on Friday. Salo only did one installation lap and was left unable to drive by the stomach virus. The teams doctor reckoned Salo picked up the illness when travelling in Europe.
