Megane GR4

The cayman sucks so badly now though. It’s so slow to accelerate.
Maybe so. I still have good races and finish top 6 usually, and I’m not that fast naturally. I just really love my car . 5B530494-94B2-4951-A4E1-A8A6F60782DA.jpeg A93633D3-D723-4048-BD9D-754D8F2A0C40.jpeg

Im going almost 3 seconds faster in the megane compared to the M4 on suzuka.

Looks like almost all rear wheel drive cars are being severely handicapped in gr4.

Usually I dont care about this kind of unbalance an join the "darkside" ,but its not that simple, some guys are specializing in driving meganes, very hard to reach some of them

Don’t care. nothing will separate me from my Cayman Clubsport. I’m not going to drive a car I don’t love just to win first place.

Same.

I quite enjoy watching the replays after and the megane just looks a bit naff to me.

Me too , and I think to some people that’s what’s it’s really about. I enjoy the models , the scapes , the music , as much as if not more than the competition aspect. My love for certain cars is why I play.

I just set myself a target to aim for based on my qualifying position and in most instances i just disregard megane drivers.

The vw scirroco for example whilst quick seems to me a horrible car to drive. I could could win in that and have much less enjoyment winning than finishing 5th in a car that i actually enjoy driving.

I suppose it all boils down to individuals and what they want from the game and how seriously people want to take it.

I did notice at Interlagos last night that the Gr 3 Porsche 911 has a top end advantage over the Gr3 Beetle so perhaps the BOP is constantly being tinkered with and the Megane and Scirocco will be dragged back into the pack

The Gr4 458 will leave FWD cars for dead exiting a corner but they catch you again down the straight :banghead:

There is no doubt they will be at some point, it's just a case of when. Lets hope it's done properly otherwise they could still be faster even with a nerf.

Well, I gave the Megane a go yesterday...

I'm someone who usually qualifies around 5-10th, and finishes around the same. Well, I jump in the Megane and at Interlagos I immediately shave 2.5s off my previous best quali time in an SLS Gr.4.

I qualify 4th, which is pretty good for me, and in the race I never drop from the top 4, eventually spending the final three laps on the bumper of the leader, eventually coming second by half a Megane-length, and actually winning after the leader took a 2sec penalty. Hurrah for my second ever win!

So, the Megane is certainly a bit overpowered. The entire top 5 were Meganes, and we pulled a fair gap on the rest of the field.

PD certainly do have some things to work on! But for now I'm going back to Gr.3 races, where things are a little more even and have less punting!

Gr. 4 has become a one make race if you want to be competitive, then it's down to consistency and not crashing/getting bumped off. The car has 0 chance of oversteer, tons of speed, it's just boring. I'm just glad to see manufacturer Gr. 4 races to have SOME variety.

I just went into my garage and sold both my megane and my scirocco. I just won't be taking part in Gr4 anymore. Entering in anything other than those two is DR suicide and I absolutely hate driving them. The scirocco wasn't as bad as the megane to drive but it still drives like crap. It's just not fun. Why have they not already fixed this!?

It took me a while to visually used to Group 4 given the mix of cup cars with genuine sports and GT cars. The category is a good idea but some manufacturers just don't have the cars to seamlessly shoehorn in without it looking out of place.

The is happening in the gr.3 with the 911 and VW

I do see the 911 in Gr.3 often but really it's not that bad, and I hardly see beetles. I believe Gr. 3 is pretty fair and a few of the slower cars could use a 1-2% boost in power. Gr.3 overall right now is not too bad. It's not great, but it's fun and the variety is there.

Have been exclusively Gr.3 for a while but today there is no Gr3 race so I dusted off the old GT-R and went to Nurburging. I know the track well and do well with a selection of Gr.3 cars, but now I can see why everybody moans about the meganes.

I was miles and miles off the pace of the front 16 meganes! I then tried my Mclaren and my 4C, both still miles off the pace.

Let's hope this gets balanced in the next update because I rather liked my 4c and would like to race it again.

The 4C is op compared to the other non FF cars, infact at Brands Hatch it's even faster than the Megane over the lap, if you can get away from all the Meganes at the start you can win there in it, at the other tracks not so much.

I do not think that the 911 is overpowered, just an iconic car that many enjoy driving. By far it is not the fastest car in its class. Some tracks I can easily turn a better lap time in my Viper and I do like driving both the Viper and 911.

Evo gr4 is a cornering sleeper, not so so quick straights, but has op handling, can corner very fast and brake extremely late.

Yeah I don't think the 911 Gr3 is op at all its just really common. Can pass them no problem on track. I think Gr3 while not having any absolute OP cars it does have more than a few cars that are seriously UP!

That is a good tip. I love Brands so next time I see a Gr.4 race there I shall give the 4c a whirl

The problem is not the megane (and scirocco) but the other gr.4 car ... sometimes the excessive difficult is the "wrong" side of the simulation.

Yes this is the problem, there are a number of competitive cars but there are even more useless ones, they need boosting to match the others, no car needs nerfing in Gr3.
