I see your top speed is some 7mph lower than mine, maybe you should play with the gear ratios some more. With 155 I bet you hit the redline some 100 meters before the end of the straight, longer 5th gear could help you shave some tenths of a seconds. Also give it a lot of pressure on the brakes, I run on smth like 22/20 and racing flywheel and boy does it stop :sly:. When I get back home I'll post my settings, maybe you could help me improve them ;)

Funny that you say I'll redline before the end of the straight. I set the final gear specifically so that it won't redline until the braking zone for the first turn. I agree though, that low top speed may just be the problem. I used the tranny trick BTW (if you know what that is). I'll revert to 'normal' FC gears with a longer 5th gear and see if that helps.

For brakes I use 14/12. I don't want to increase it much further because I'm afraid it'll understeer more. even with my settings I'm experiencing slight understeer under braking. Maybe it's my driving style, I tend to brake really late and turn at the same time. I'll give your settings a try though 👍.

Thanks for sharing your settings :). I'm not that great of a tuner, so I'm sure your help will come in handy 👍.

Well, I don't mean you should hit redline at the point when you leave the track at turn one of course :D. I meant precisely the braking zone. My gears are adjusted to the point I will be at redline precisely when I have to hit the brakes for turn one, and you see what is my top speed. So I thought you sacrificed some of the top speed so you'll have better acceleration in the twisty part. And I don't know what trick you're talking about, maybe it's a PSX thing?
Anyways fiddle with the gearbox, the Europa is perfectly capable of 160+ at the straight, and starting a lap lets say with 130, not 125, may make all the difference. I use awful lot of pressure at the brakes because I like late braking as well :) and it seems to work well on keyboard, just tap the brake button for part of a second when only slight deceleration is needed. Of course you gotta check tires don't lock up, but with harder springs it seems okay to me. These are my observations from keyboard point of view ;), I might be wrong. So I'll post my settings in Friday or Saturday maybe, so anybody will be able to try them if they want :P

That's exactly what I meant.

Okay here's how the tranny trick works:
-Slide the final gear all the way to the right.
-Slide the auto slider to 1.
-Slide the final gear to the left until a value where you'll hit the redline just before you hit the braking zone.

Try it, and tell me how it feels. I like using this trick because it gives you the same top speed as if you use the same final drive value with normal gears, but faster acceleration through the gears. It makes the gears 'shorter' without lowering the top speed. Confused? Don't be, this is just a glitch with the game that you can exploit to your advantage ;).

Right, I'll be waiting for your settings then. In the meantime I'll try to use the d-pad to make the controls similar to a keyboard. Maybe that'll make some difference.

I've given this a few tries at B-class and in this

[R]XJR15 GT Race Car
Drive train : MR
Aspiration : N
NA max : 470hp
Race weight : 2314lb
P/W ratio : 4.92

been doing about 1'04.000 at best

just thinking that is this car even allowed to use in B-class
because it says 470hp in garage, but it says 540 something @ settings menu..
propably same thing with the Ford GT or?

I think it's allowed since we're using garage HP values here. Have to ask Glanza-V to be sure though.

I got home earlier, so here are the settings I promised:

No differential settings, I use 1.5 LSD, flywheel would be racing, and supersofts, I think everything else is clear. Give 'em a go ;)

I dont have a camera, so I can not post pictures, so I wont be telling any times here, but suggestion:
for up to 300 hp try the Lotus Motorsport Elise tuned to 298 BHP with Stage 3 Weight reduction (1413 LB), Racing Flywheel, Full Racing Transmission. This is the highest BHP/weight one can possibly get below 300 HP. I beat GT 40s with this car...
( I got the car because I always wanted to beat the Vector M12 LM edition in the Trial Mountain Endurance without a Game Shark, limit for the race is 295 BHP, so I looked over every car to find the one with the most power to weight ratio. the Lotus was my final conclusion, although I never beat the Vector and It always laped me at least once during the 30 lap race)
Car: Lotus Motorsport Elise
Drivetrain: Mid-rear
BHP: 298 (Turbo Stage Two, Racing Exhaust system, chip, engine balance)
Weight (curb) 1413 lb (641 kg)
Power To weight: 0.465 kg/lb

Another good idea is a 295 BHP Lancia Stratos, because the racing modification can be applied to the Stratos.
Lotus corners much smoother though

I give up trying to beat your Europa time yoshimura, so instead I used the [R] Europa and [R] Stratos. Unsurprisingly, they were faster. How I love downforce :sly:.

1.10.832|[R] Lotus Europa|299 HP

1.10.437|[R] Lancia Stratos|296 HP

The Stratos is a much much better car in the corners and over bumps, particularly on the hairpin after the first tunnel. Even though it's less powerful and heavier than the Europa (and it has a lower top speed too), it ends up being faster because you have more confidence going into corners with this car. Those fat tires and widebody no doubt helps, and the rally car stability.

Done this again in the [R]XJR15 GT Race Car
and got :

Best Lap
1:04.536
287.82km/h

Now I'm going to lower the max speed to gain some more acceleration.

EDIT: Class B entry: MadMax86/[R]XJR15 GT Race Car/ 470hp 1.03.917

Would take pictures to put them here,
but the damn digicam is broken.

Another entry from me to class A

Class A entry: MadMax86/[R]Escudo Pikes Peak Version/ 981hp 0'52.920

Cool. You beat my time with the Escudo. Let's see if I could go faster...

EDIT:
Improved Escudo time, I wonder if we're able to go around Midfield in less than 50 seconds...
